Mally Basdogan although she was going through all of that, I think it was one of those moments where everything in life is going wrong, but you do something you love and it’s the only thing that feels right in your soul. The stage is very much her happy place and I’m sure this song brings her a lot of nostalgia. It’s definitely bringing her back and reminding her who she is when she needed it most (: I think she has pure joy in this moment regardless of what had been happening
Mally Basdogan there’s plenty of moments where Aris faked a smile. This has been my favorite performance of hers ever since it aired because you can just see how genuinely happy she is performing a song from her dream broadway role at the anniversary of it. You can’t fake how happy she looked in this. It honest to god used to make me cry watching because of how genuinely happy she looked even if it was just for those few minutes singing the song despite all the shit she had to deal with personally.

BrunoRF01 I adore this show and have seen it half a dozen times, with a few different Elphabas, and heard more performers on RUclips. She didn't overuse riffs, her small additions were perfectly in keeping with how the pro Elphabas sing the song. To be honest I was expecting a pop singer to do heaps of ornamention, but she did a very faithful performance.

I understand why people see her as a good Glinda (she’s very peppy and poppy) but I still think she would have been an excellent Elphaba. The range is there, she knows the difference between acting in a movie vs. a theatre performance, and she clearly has a good time acting as the character. Cynthia Erivo is a fantastic actress and singer as well, I just really think Ariana as Elphaba would have been fun to see on screen. I’m not upset she is Glinda, I just feel like an opportunity was missed here.
