Chelsea finished 5 points behind Villa last season with numerous injuries to key players and a manager who only got it right midway through the season. This time around they have a better squad, with young talented players who are a year older. Not to mention Palmer, arguably the league's best player. No UCL or Europa again as well. Once Chelsea have been paid for Gallagher and have loaned Lakaka to Napoli they can afford to buy Osimhen and pay his wages. I don't think people have any clue how clinical Osimhen actually is, or understand how poor Chelsea were at converting opportunites last season, especially in the first half before Jackson's improvement. A front four of Osimhen, Nkunku, Pedro Neto and Palmer with Jackson, Sterling, Mudryk and Madueke's pace, and potentially Joao Felix is incredibly scary and very leathal. It's crazy to me to think this team will finish outside the top-5, which should get UCL play next season, and top-3 doesn't feel like that much of a shout when you look at Chelsea's quality and depth compared to Liverpool. Plus, it's much easier to navigate a season in the Conference League with all that depth (Chelsea could literally play their 2nd or 3rd teams all the way until the quarter or semi finals) than it is for Liverpool, Arsenal and Villa to navigate the UCL.
People seem to forget the talent of Cole Palmer. That kid carried the team last season. With Nkunku, Jackson, Osimhen? and a few others chipping in, UCL qualification will not be a problem.

So this is an inexperienced head coach, implementing a new style into a bloated squad with a bunch of players who have no relationships with each other. That is not a recipe for getting top 4.
