You Happy Pears have changed my life! Your strong presence in Vegan Community is Award Winning. I wish to thank you for consuming my life, and my kitchen. KISSES!!!!!!!
The happy pear makes the best vegan food ever. I have their cookbook and order food from their shop/restaurant sometimes. No matter what you order/make it never disappoints!
Just did it and OMG that was AMAZING !! it's really meaty and my family thought it was real meat .. Thank you so much for this I will do it again today :D
All your Ivan recipes are fantastic I have tried a few and my son got me one of your books I have tried a few very good can you do simple Vivian plum cake I have few plums to use thank you for all the lovely recipes that you show every body thanks
I know this is 2 years later, but you can always use pea protein or hemp protein powder, or in case you dont have any protein at home you can just add more rice flour
Just tried these tonight, and they were really really good. Much easier, with better flavor and texture than the way I used to make vegan sausages. Bravo!
I was just about to start looking for a TVP based sausage and this popped up on my RUclips feed! Kismet? Thanks a bunch! I'll be trying these tonight! 😊
Guys I love your videos. Very entertaining and fun. I tried this recipe and so wanted to like it...flavor was great but sad to say the texture wasn’t really meaty at all. It was more starchy. I wonder if replacing the rice flour with gluten would work better?
I love these guys!!!! no really, you blocks are amazing! I'm so grateful for all the amazing content you put out and this beautiful community that you've created. Namaste

At last a decent sausage and you used TVP which I always thought was the best thing for vegan sausages but all my attempts fell apart. Can you do some more with taco please. It is so cheap, really high in protein with no fat. I use the chunks as well in curries and soups. Also there is Nepalese pickle called choila which uses top chunks fried in oil and fenugreek seed which is amazing mixed in with salads. But I am sure you dudes have a few ideas of your own. A bit more TVP please. Thanks for the sausage recipe. Deffo going in my weekly cook. (I wonder if they freeze well). Steve
Sadly, my wife won't eat TVP. And I have yet to find a good seitan recipe. So no sausages for us. 😭 But lads, I'll try this one when my wife's away, no fear. Love you guys!
I hate to rain on the parade but texturized protein is a really processed food, it is a bi-product of soybean processing. They use hexane (a solvent) to separate the oil from the protein in soy beans (using the protein as the basis for the TVP). Hexane is also used to make petrol. Yes, it may be trace amounts but there are less glamorous whole food ways to make a sausage? you guys have the BEST recipes on the whole, my newly veg husband is so glad I found your channel :)
made it today unfortunately i tossed in my pea protein without reading it was vanilla flavored, but its all good still taste good, next time i'll get the right pea protein.
Nutmeg notebook has a vegan sausage made from rolled oats without any soy and nini girl v homemade hotdogs. Check them out on RUclips, they look great.
A question from my daughter that I can't answer because I'm simply plant based. Maybe others could offer their personal perspective on this to answer her question ? Thought this particular video would be the perfect spot 😊👍 Why do some vegans, not only refer to their dishes with meaty / animal products names but go to great lengths to imitate meat / animal products when it's the very thing they are averse to ? Because mainly we are not averse to the flavour and texture of meat, but the way we harm the animals to get those flavours. That’s my point of view but I also choose vegetables from health reasons.. I like the taste I grew up with though, so sometimes it’s good to eat something familiar what I was used to in my childhood like sausages, steak, etc. But if I don’t have to kill anyone for it and there is a healthier option than meat why not go for it and make the same taste from plants?

100 g TVP with 600 g water, 5Tbsp tamari . 1 Tbsp tomato puree, Cook 10 minutes & drain well. Add -1 tsp rosemary, 1 tsp thyme, 1/2 tsp red chili, 1/4 tsp pepper, 1 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp salt, , 1 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 C yeast flakes , 3 Tbsp rice flour, 5 Tbsp gluten. Mix well. Add 2 Tbsp ground flax seed. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrig before frying.
Sorry, Houndjog. Missed a couple of ingredients, above. 💌
@@patferguson572 Please help our community ...list them :)
For anyone coming along much later (like me), all that was missed out from the list of ingredients was 1 tsp Mixed Herbs
@@patrickwu9569 Thx! Right on!
What is the vegan protein that was added near the end? I don’t think that’s in the list.😊
It would really be nice if all your recipes were written in the description box. I couldn’t find this particular sausage recipe in your website.
Had so much fun making this video. Cheers dudes 🙏🌱💚
Ed sounds like a serious legend teaching young people about plant-based cooking! Amazing!
You Happy Pears have changed my life! Your strong presence in Vegan Community is Award Winning. I wish to thank you for consuming my life, and my kitchen. KISSES!!!!!!!

Just did it and OMG that was AMAZING !!
it's really meaty and my family thought it was real meat .. Thank you so much for this I will do it again today :D
Ed makes this video extremely chill.
Ed seems like a great teacher, wouldn´t mind having more videos with him.
He’s no longer a teacher
that's right he quit for a job in charity or something. He was only my form tutor so I don’t know how good of a teacher he was
What happened to the other half of the seasoned TVP mixture? I didn't see you add it. Did you add it or saved it for another time?
Looks tasty is it soya mince or tofu for the base I want to try to make them thanks
All your Ivan recipes are fantastic I have tried a few and my son got me one of your books I have tried a few very good can you do simple Vivian plum cake I have few plums to use thank you for all the lovely recipes that you show every body thanks
How about rolling them in rice paper so no need to use plastic?
I just rolled the mixture into rolls and then cut them into rounds as I go. Thank you! My man loves these!
Wish I could find the written recipe, I tried writing down but it is so fast and I have short term memory problems. Have to give up
Great!!! I have to try it!!!
Loved veg.ed !!! Please do more videos with him
I have just made these. I put Chickpea flour in, instead of rice flour and the protein stuff.......still very nice. Thank you.
do you think it could work with wheat gluten?
could someone recommend a replacement for rice/soy protein please? I have also run out of vital wheat gluten.
I know this is 2 years later, but you can always use pea protein or hemp protein powder, or in case you dont have any protein at home you can just add more rice flour
Just tried these tonight, and they were really really good. Much easier, with better flavor and texture than the way I used to make vegan sausages. Bravo!
Just stumbled on this. Can these be frozen for later? Can they be smoked?
I was just about to start looking for a TVP based sausage and this popped up on my RUclips feed! Kismet? Thanks a bunch! I'll be trying these tonight! 😊
Omg these look delicious! I’ve bought tvp other day but didn’t know what to do it it so here we go, I can do this!
Would soy curls work for the base instead of TVP?
Guys I love your videos. Very entertaining and fun. I tried this recipe and so wanted to like it...flavor was great but sad to say the texture wasn’t really meaty at all. It was more starchy. I wonder if replacing the rice flour with gluten would work better?
Can these be made in large batches and frozen for later use?
They look fantastic. I live nowhere near vegan food shops yet i love veggie sausages. I think i just found my goal!
I love these guys!!!! no really, you blocks are amazing! I'm so grateful for all the amazing content you put out and this beautiful community that you've created. Namaste
Do you think it would work rolling them up with cheesecloth? I don’t use cling wrap.
Parchment paper and then cheesecloth.
Parchment paper and then foil - twist the ends of the foil - they are not steamed & the foil never touches the sausages.
What other binders could you use in place of flax seeds?
So I like the texture and everything. I don’t care for the taste of the flax inside of it, what can I substitute this with?.
This would not have worked without ED👍🏻...really good and easy to do thanks
Still waiting for July 26th, as this is when your book comes out in CANADA. YAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
Great video as always. But I have one question.. With what I can substitute the soy protein, or can I leave it out? Thank you very much.
Want to stop being a man? Eat soy.
@@georgeorwell7149 Sure!
Looks amazing! Thx guys! 👍😁✨
That’s amazing! Thanks for sharing. Would Hemp protein works instead of rice/soy protein?
looks good Ill give it a try, cant see the recipe on your website
where can you order the TVP?
WHAT about fennel for that sausage flavor?
What a great recipe, thank you! I would love to see more recipes with textured soy protein 😊😊😊
me too..... tvp is the way forward ❤️
Those look fantastic, I cannot wait to try your recipe.
Are they the same as you serve at Dublin Airport? They were excellent and taste exactly as good meat sausages!
I'm going to make that! I have everything already and I'm going to put them with mash and gravy
Could these be passed through a grinder and into synthetic casings?
Guys great channel and a great new book to boot! Best vegan recipes ever. Full of useful facts and tips.
I had been thinking tvp for sausage but hadn't gotten around to trying it. Now I def will. Thx for the great looking recipe.
Can I use VWG in place of soya protein?
Woo, Ed representing Sheffield! Im almost proud 🤣🤣 This is a cool recipe.
Hi can I use crumbled up tempeh instead of tvp?
I would like to try this using buckwheat instead of TVP, just wondering if anyone has tried this or used any TVP alternatives? x
Any replacement to the soy protein or can I omit those?
Could try using Vital wheat gluten? Very high in protein.
You can blend raw quinoa to make a powder - high in protein
Kyle Turnbull tried with vital wheat gluten but makes it very elastic and requires steaming before you can chill and fry off
How much TVP is in 100 Grams of TVP? I mean, If I am measuring with USA Cup.
Fennel (seeds) are a nice addition to this recipe:-)
Can you substitite soy powder with chickpea powder?
Wow!!! fantastic recipe!!!
Love ED....a teacher......Wow!!
Ed is amazing! Such a great guy. 😄😄

Love these, but have find a new use.... toasted sourdough, spread with dijon and a sausage (air fried) squidged on top like pate. Delish
Sadly, my wife won't eat TVP. And I have yet to find a good seitan recipe. So no sausages for us. 😭 But lads, I'll try this one when my wife's away, no fear. Love you guys!
They have an oatmeal based sausage on their channel that is delicious. Sometimes I wrap them in rice paper for an added layer of texture.
It Doesn’t Taste Like Chicken has a great seitan sausage video on RUclips and the full recipe on her web page.
Hilarious! Thank you for the humor that came along with the recipe.
Super Nice!!!!!!
Thank you!

Lads, you outdid yourselves 😲🙌 vegan gf sausages😍👌 can't wait to try!
U R the best I will try it
Brilliant! You don't even have to call them sausages but should rather find a new brand name for them! Really delicious stuff!
TheBarockTrickster The term sausage doesn't refer to meat... So they're doing nothing wrong here
james fancourt You're a dirty old man! ;-)
What is that soy protein powder
TVP, recall from my student days, yup cheap....but horrid taste....but more £££ left for beer. Maybe I should try again!
I hate to rain on the parade but texturized protein is a really processed food, it is a bi-product of soybean processing. Vegans hate nature and love being fake.
What do you guys think would be a good substitute for it? EDIT: How about just good ole firm tofu?
+ *Paulo Jovellano* Medium firm tofu frozen, then thawed, then processed in a food processor until minced, maybe.
Oh bore off
This isn't going to kill you or reduce your life expectancy
If you don't like it don't eat it?
There are hexane-free TVP brands.
Wow Excellent 👍👍👍👍👌
Subscribed when you said you were reading Harry Potter ⚡️

She can't understand why a vegan would crave a meaty texture or flavour and now she also has me curious about this.

Because vegans know that meat is a human diet but won't ever admit it.
Because mainly we are not averse to the flavour and texture of meat, but the way we harm the animals to get those flavours. So if you can achieve a flavour/texture of sg you like from plants which doesn’t involve violence, or you can get the same by killing animals for it, why not choose the plant version? It's down to how our brains process food rather than our stomach. Food can be broken down into sensory processes; taste, texture, smell, mouth feel and a few others. Meaty is just a word for the "mouth feel" category. You could use grizzly or chewy but meaty is probably just a more common one.
Animal product names is just down to how the search engine works, it's more inclusive for people that might not know any new lingo if they're starting a vegan diet. By just adding the word vegan in front of it you make it easy for people to find and get their head around what it is.
Don't worry, you are killing people with promoting veganism. That is what the globalists want, for you to assist them in the total destruction of nature. You are not "choosing" vegetables for health reasons. You are brainwashed and that is the ONLY reason you eat vegetables. There is no evidence vegetables are good for you or are even supposed to be eaten by humans. Yes, they contain lots of nutrients....for plants. George Orwell Did you really just say that vegetables aren't good for you 😂😂 Fuck me mate you've clearly been on the tools
Is it possible to write us the ingredients down. The video is a lot scratchy and miss what you talk about. Thank you
did I miss it is there a recipe
I think Dee’s sausages has a similar recipe. I could be wrong though.
How is cling film vegan?
They were a little mushy. Too much liquid?
Ooohhh Ed is GORGEOUS :)

finally glutenfree sausage! I could even make a steak from this dough xD
yea true a great GF option! i'll make these next vegan potluck since our host is GF.

I hear your argument often, but I dont understand how people can't see that someone dont want contribute to something they think is unethical/unnecessary/harmful but still want the pleasure.
