The problem when you where turning the car is due to the fact that these systems need movement to work correctly, same you observe with garmin field navigation, once you stop the direction arrow starts spinning until you move. Same issue i guess. Always funny to see your videos. Top!
I really don't trust any distance or altitude data from my mini3 pro; it is regularly erroneous. Once, I was filming time-lapse's of windmills and the drone was supposed to be finishing up at 15 meters. It was actually at 2.5 meters and a service truck passed underneath- this was out in the middle of a 500 acre corn field on a restricted service Rd, not a public road. The driver never saw it. I fly over the water often, various conditions, and maintain vigilant line of sight because the data is so often wrong, close calls there too. Thus far, I think 10 meters is a low as this software/hardware can fly over water without risk of taking a plunge. MP3 Active track, especially parallel, has all the same issues depicted here with the classic.
So the last example shows why it is difficult even with a c1 drone to fly with active track cause you have to make sure that you do not overfly uninvolved people (others cars) but exactly this happened... as you have to prevent this well you must have to make no failure or do not use active track at all... or you close the street completely
Love the corvette 😁 tracking looked great and what a subject to track still us in the uk might as well sell all our drones and maybe go back in time and all buy a dji tello lol or we can do the next thing and move to Denmark lol great video as usual my friend 😁👍👌🇬🇧
I wonder if you started the parallel tracking from the front of the car if it wouldve settled to the side quicker. My reasoning is that the drone would start moving in front of the car, determing the direction of travel and then rotate to fly to the side
Thanks for the nice and informative video! 😄 I ended up in a similar situation with the Mini 3 Pro on a motorcycle. I wanted the drone to follow me when I was driving. Suddenly I met a couple of other MCs, and suddenly the drone chose to follow the strangers 🤓 I "shot down" the drone and had a serious word with it 😄
Do you have a copy of that video, I looked on your site. Jag har också en BMW men 2015 R1200rt och den samme Mini 3 drone. Hälsningar från Tennessee i förenta staterna.
Hello, and thanks for the greeting! I have not found the original recording, but have found a low-res copy that I posted on a forum. I did not put the recording on my RUclips channel, as this was only a test, and the drone did not have good working conditions either - long distance and low contrast. The motorcycle becomes a small and difficult object under such conditions. As a pilot, I probably have to take the blame for the drone's behavior 😄
Nice demonstration of Active track. You had it to nifty mode and was avoiding obstacles faster and with less distance from them. Nice work with nifty on.
@@NICKs_HIGHTECH Thanks, you've been very helpful. Appreciate the replies. Considering upgrading my DJI Mavic Air 2 to the 3 Classic. BTW, I'm on my 20th Corvette. Owned them since the 60's. Current ride is a C8 and I'm on the list for a Z06 (maybe sometime next year). Your Corvette looks great!!
Is the Activetrack dial (follow me front, rear, left side, right side) offered to Mini 3 users? Seems like this feature is available only to Classic users?
Humac product placement, or you just went to the dark side of the force ;-) Thx for the active track capabilites test. Skydio 2 is perhaps still the best pursuit drone? Have a mavic air 2, which i wanted to use as tracking drone while out biking (bicycle - road exercise), but it never lived up to the task. Haven't tested it presently, perhaps latest updates have improved its capabilities.
@@TECHDRONEMEDIA Yeps, as dane any t-shirt branded with the apple logo, is most likely "merchandise" from apples danish main dealer Humac. This 50 m requirement is TOTALLY unclear and confusing. Made an active track test today and faced the same issue even drone was 25-35 m away from my car. After that notification it just kept staying. I thought that is related to home point because in second test I updated home point (controller location), drone started to move and distance between home point and drone increased. Very confusing.
I know about the limitation of 50 m between pilot/remote and drone. Where do you have the information that movement during active track is not allowed?
I have made a video with the tracking of the Mavic 3 last year. And I lost the drone in the trees 😥 It was so high in the trees that I have because of the unreachable position, a flyaway. this has cost 699€ for a new drone with DJI Care. So better don't trust that system for tracking.
OK, I'm still testing the Mini 3, but following your lead... Trying to understand why it loses the car with partial obstructions of tree branches. I had people on the ground to track the car, too: ruclips.net/video/0ThLPJC2PiI/видео.html
Fun and nerve-wracking at the same time. Mavic 3 Classic survives!!! Impressed with this drone’s capabilities!
ActiveTrack feature looking superb. So close to getting a Mavic 3 Classic.
It’s a really cool product that works really well
Wow that was a close call 😬 The obstacle avoidance sensors as well as the tracking is doing a pretty fine job 👍🏻
Great video 👍🏻
Performs so well. Awesome tracking capabilities. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you like it!
You made it fun as well as informative. Great video, thankyou.🤗👌

Thanks for posting a video that shows the human side of flying... a positive outcome!!!
That was fun, Henrik. That must have been a heart-stopper for moment! Beautiful 'vette too!
Amazing function. Love this AT from the Mini3. However this was really close. Lucky you nothing happenend. 😉
Another awesome video! The tracking and avoidance are pretty good. I do love that Corvette!

Guess you were lucky that the approaching car slowed down to check out your cool car 😄 otherwise it would be game over Mavic 3... Nice test!
Nice one, if u need help with cars try correcting the Skyline
I’m not sure I follow
Thank you for the awesome explanation of the mavic 3 tracking.
Can it track another drone?
I'm just worried about overhead wires. The obstacle detection does pretty well, but I don't know if it could detect wires.
Quick question...how does the range test compare between the mini 3 pro versus mavic 3 classic?
I like your videos, I have a DJI mini 2. But it’s legally to fly over a way where people drive 80km/h ?
No, it’s not and I did not do it purpose - I stopped and corrected my mistake - the plan was to keep the drone locked on right side
Interesting video thanks
Glad you liked it
Very cool. Thank you. Interestingly, in the US it's illegal to fly from a moving vehicle.
I’m not flying while the car is moving - it’s tracking
4:42 lol
11:47 almost hit!
Nice demo of Active Track. So the minimum tracking altitude is 1.5 m?
Fantastic video, nice car to!
Can you use the zoom for active track?

What's nifty mode?
@@RobertMacCready Nifty mode is a bypass mode but faster obstacle avoidance and goes nearer the obstacles and smoother too
@@NICKs_HIGHTECH Is that on the controller or in the software?
@@RobertMacCready Its in the software. Menu - safety below bypass it has two modes Normal and nifty

Hi! Does Mavic 3 do 4k 60fps while active tracking?
Do you have to use the C1 firmware with the Mavic Classic? Or is there another firmware for C2 drones / A2 pilots without the 50m limitation?
Nice Corvette
Thanks 🙏
Is the Mavic 3 classic compatible with the Litchi App
no

It’s not very consistent

Eu regulation prevents to move pilot while piloting (active track is piloting). So now you known why.
