Dude this morning I literally looked up on Reddit “ghost guitar tone” and I saw a comment from you A YEAR AGO and then YOU POST THIS THE SAME DAY WTFFFFF
@@NickPerezMusic It has what it needs to have and not a lot else, you can design solid tones but when you compare it to other sims it's nowhere near as good. It's an amazing game, tho.
I was almost guaranteed their first albums were recorded through an Orange, but now that I think about it it could be a plexi too. Nice vid. And the riff and tone at 6:53 are dangerously close to Megadeth - Tornado of Souls :o, gotta run your settings and try that out too :p
I think the first album was just an orange amp and an sg. I was definitely going for their more recent tone in this video which to my ear is way more plexi sounding. The orange amps have this killer fuzzy thing going on that I haven’t heard on Impera. Also imma have to check that out lol, haven’t listened to Megadeth in a minute but “Rust in Peace” may just be my gym album today 😂
Great video still trying to get a ghost tone I like . Tried p90 pickups, Tried EMG pickups still not happy. Used Boss Katana amp and had better results with Hx stomp. Really enjoyed this video very informative and a more in-depth look in this would be great. Subscribed 👍
I think I read somewhere that Opus was tracked with and SG with p90s. Glad you enjoyed the video, a more in depth review using a real amp is on the way!
Seeing as Ghost got me back into guitar circa 2015, I've spents yearsssss and $$$ chasing their Meliora tones. Here's my $0.02... Get a barky pickup like a Duncan SH4/SH5 in a hard tail LP style guitar + a Friedman amp, preferably the JJ then the BE (I use Flagship from ML, no boosts or pedals needed) + the Friedman 412 Vint 6402 DynIR from TwoNotes (This part is HUGE, cabs always are in terms of tone imo. I pair the Cnd 47 and the Rbn 160 to taste). This is easily 90% of the tone with no post processing needed. Very tight, punchy, and thick with a smooth top end.
Yea this sounds like it would nail that tone. Always wanted to try a Friedman amp out, they seem like the best of vintage Marshall with all the modern appointments
Great video. Would love to see if you can replicate their live tone, it seems quite different from records and at least to me, much better, especially love how they do those "guitar duels" before Cirice and blend those amazing clean tones with distorted ones without changing anything besides their guitar volumes. And its more gainy live, i think. Iirc they (at least the solo guitar) uses fractals with friedman amps. Never tried bias, only tried with neural dsp plugins and what i get from those is really nice
The live clean tone they have going on is gorgeous, especially now with those strat pickups!! Good to know they're using a friedman model. Always assumed it was some sort of plexi style amp for the live stuff since it's probably the most well rounded for the whole discography.
@@NickPerezMusic im 99% sure he uses Hot Rails on the strat, at least on one of them. The other EOB strat is either JB jr or also Hot Rails, havent seen enough pics/recordings. Their clean tones are just rolling off the volume on the guitar, but i dont exactly know if they split pickups for even more cleans, because it doesnt sound that thin, or maybe they do like a 1 pickup split and then play in the middle position with 2 pickups combined. The rhythm ghoul plays around with knobs a lot, so i assume there's some splitting at some parts, like in Cirice intro when going from clean to distortion. And yeah, im almost sure its a Friedman model, at least for the solo ghoul. I think plexi is just too thin for the sounds they get. I can get pretty close with Neural Plini plugin, the 2nd amp is based on Friedman BE100, but cant get it 100% right, mine sounds slightly too thin, but even on pretty low gain you can that tight and clear tone, its amazing
Hey Nick! What audio interface are you using for BIAS Amp 2? I'm looking to get my first audio interface (under 200€) and see a lot people recommending the focusrite scarlett series 🤔 Btw love the ghost related vids! Keep up the great work!
Hey Philip! I use an Apollo Twin for all of my audio stuff, but have used a focusrite scarlett in the past and they are amazing! Definitely the best interface in it's price range by a long shot
@@NickPerezMusic Thanks man. I use 10g for standard and e flat but haven't gone a full step down with them cause I feel like there wouldn't be enough string tension w 10g. For myself anyway.
@@stormbringer197 they get pretty floppy down a whole step, especially with a 24.75 scale length. Coincidentally I think I’m gonna make the jump to 12s this summer for a whole step down. Been playing 11s in standard all year and they feel great now!
@@NickPerezMusic Very interesting. I'm still a new player a yr and few mos. I've only played on 10 g. Have a Floyd in standard. And a modded barretta special I keep a half stp dwn. I use it as hard tail as I haven't replaced or adjusted bridge. They got three springs and tighted claw all the way back. But w Hipshot locking tuners and replacing saddles and nut its super stable if keep as is as a htail. May set up for 11s and in d for this one. Will probably get a third guitar w10s and use for standard and half step down.

Oh wow, what a coincidence 😂😂😂
Hope the video helped tho!
Hail satan
I play a lot of Ghost in Rocksmith and there's a lot I can do about the tones, but turns out I was using way too much gain. Thank you much, mate!
Sure thing!!! Never played Rocksmith, do they have a lot of options for amp sims and what not?

The studio sounds are quite simple to get. Their live sound is very warm and noticeably more gain - great sound considering it's amp modelling
Awesome! Congrats on 4K too, my dude!
Thanks man!!!
Had no idea about the microphones that's so useful
It makes such a huge difference, blew my mind when I discovered it!

I never understood what the gain on a pre amp does as opposed to the gain on the regular eq panel on the amp
CSGuitars has good videos on preamps I believe he explains stuff so simpletons like myself can understand
Yep, sounds bad ass
Orange amps sound killa for ghost as well
That they do, especially the first few albums
@@NickPerezMusic I couldn’t agree more
My girlfriend said Some of ghosts songs are tuned down 2 whole steps! Just a tip for a few of their songs like spite on the spitalfields
They've been loving that drop C lately!
what's the riff played @7:37 ?
That was from another video of mine lol, "What Twenties by Ghost Probably Sounds Like."

What string gauge do you use?
11-48
