I could imagine super strong solar winds ripping them away. There would certainly be no way to replenish them (Enceladus would have no geysers)

giants are bright but their temperatures are low compared to stars that are in their prime

Just to clarify. The sun won't expand because it ran out of hydrogen. Only the core will run out of hydrogen and start fusing helium which is a very energetic fusion. The outer layers of the sun will still be hydrogen and will expand because of the extremely high temperatures in the core. In that process, the sun will loose a lot of its hydrogen layers because of the quick expansion.
Finally someone knows the truth. 🤣 Not every stars becomes red gaints..

Anton, I've seen your previous video. In Universe Sandbox 2, there's a section in materials that shows you the Earth Similarity and Life Likelihood for planets. Usually, the normal life probability is 0.990 minimum to 1.000 maximum. Maybe this can help with making videos on habitable planets? no offense btw.

Transformation of a star takes millions of years. The sun wouldn't just turn into a red giant in one day. By that time if we are not already dead because of other reasons we would have colonised mars and planets beyond out solar system. We tend to forget that this event is much further away from us than the time it took us to reach from pebbles to H-bombs. Never underestimate human ingenuity.

At those temps, the planets might even have comet like tails. Also being 56C I don't think Pluto would have enough gravity to hold onto an atmosphere that would keep an ocean intact. Pluto would be more like a comet as well.

Anton could you please share with us ,which parameters you changed (mass,radius,luminosity etc.) and which Settings you use and what type of lensflare( astroniki,astroniki2 etc?). I tried to get mine to look like your sun but mine just looks like shit. And did you modify the sun with shift+f2 or did you create a new script for the star? If you created a script could you maybe share that with us? Love your videos btw.

I have a few questions to ask you: One,how long will the sun ☀️ continue to contract until it becomes a white dwarf? Our sun looks quite similar to Betelgeuse in this scenario?I watched a video about everything that happens to the sun as it becomes a red giant. Oh,and what will happen to the other planets in our solar system? Will they too eventually succumb to the suns red giant phase? Oh And another video,I watched called Planets from hell and the name of the planet is called Wasp-12b,and the other planet called Osiris which is practically too close to its parent star. Perhaps long before that tragic event with our sun occurs,perhaps all humanity will long have colonized an habitable exoplanet. Great video!!! Great simulation too. Why won’t our sun go Supernova?

The Red Giant sun (or more specifically, the Asymptotic Giant Branch sun) will swallow Mercury, Venus, most likely Earth, and now even Mars isn't guaranteed survival.

All the gas on the gas giant planets would probably evaporate into earth sized planets and the gas from them all would eventually reach Pluto and beyond to become gas giant planets way far away.

Is there an formula for calculating the size of a star after it becomes a red giant based on mass or current size? Even those that won't become red giants. If such a formula existed, how large would R136a1's (hypothetical) red giant be? Or if the formula is based on current size, how large would the largest main sequence star's be?

How did you modify the Sun to become a red giant? Or did you use any mods to Space Engine?
You told that sun will loose about 8% Earth mass/y - will Jupiter collect this mass, or red giant radiation will overpass even Jupiter magnetsphere and make it loose mass to?

How did you evolve the Sun into a red giant and then a white dwarf? Is there a button in Universe Sandbox 2 that evolves it?
This is not Universe Sandbox 2 .He uses Space Engine for this video and he modified the sun to be a red giant instead of a yellow dwarf using either the shift +f2 tool to modify objects or he changed the parameters using a custom addon.
Is Space Engine different than Universe Sandbox 2? I had assumed that it was just the underlying architecture of US2?

The name of the our sun in English is "Sun". The name of Earth's moon is "Moon". The name of the galaxy is "Milky Way". These are also the scientific names.
Sol and Luna are not scientific names of the Sun and Moon, they are simply their names in Latin.
