    You are so smart to be transitioning slowly to full-time on youtube instead of going all in. Smart man... smart man... I was actually surprised a few months ago when I found out that you still worked a full-time job.

    I have such immense respect for you. I'm trying to balance both my full time job and trying to work at my RUclips channel, but the way you hustle is just wow. People often see all the tangible stuff like number of views and subscribers, but they don't see the work that the RUclipsrs put into their channel. Thanks so much for sharing what you know. I really appreciate this.

    This is a super valuable perspective! I’m a high school teacher, and doing RUclips stuff on the side really does take a lot of energy and strategy- even if the goal isn’t to go full time. Congrats on your success, and good luck hitting those future goals. Enjoy the journey!

    For some reason I’ve only just subscribed but I watch a lot of your content and I have to say even though it was just simple talking to camera, this is one of your best videos. There’s so much useful content for up and coming content creators in this one video and the honesty about it all is refreshing. Just wanted to say it helped me anyway and keep it up!

    Also, PLEASE get more sleep. I’m 42, full time job, teacher, also on RUclips and sleep is key. You might not feel it now but long term it’s damaging. Totally understand the hustle and drive, just be careful!

    You're the best Sydney, You're like 1/100000000000000 youtubers who actually disclose their current YT income. It actually gives us a good perspective on channel size:income ratio. You're a hero! Keep it up and I hope you can go full time and retire a bajillionaire.

    Crazy schedule, I know how hard it is. A couple years back I had a full-time job and on some days have a part-time job. And school on in the evening. RUclipsrs are true warriors, if only more YTer can show their daily routines as a full-time job and YT. You are a beast!

    My biggest concern would be health insurance. When Potato Jet broke his arm, I think I remember him saying that it costs thousands of dollars. I assume that your wife would be able to pick that up. (unless she does it already). Anyway, great to hear that you're almost jumping ship. I knew it was coming and glad to hear that it's almost happening!

    • @PostColorGear

      additional comment: batching. I still need to get butt in gear with that. I've had a lull on the channel lately and had I just recorded videos ahead of time, I could have slowly released them over the last month. Lesson learned!

    • @SidneyDiongzon
      @SidneyDiongzon  5 лет назад

      Yeah, healthcare is pretty expensive here in the States, so I’d have to take those costs into consideration. And yes, batch recording saves soooooo much time!

    3 to 6 months in the emergency fund... sounds like someone else has taken the Dave Ramsey class too! Haha! Excellent video, man! Thanks for covering these topics. I needed to be reminded about keeping priorities in order. It’s easy to slip into treating RUclips like the top priority when trying to grow a channel. Out of curiosity, what is your full time job right now?

    The thing preventing me from leaving my ft job is the constant stream of money, benefits and pension. How do you deal with having such a volatile income? Not that youtube is gonna crash and burn anytime soon but I did hear from other big channels that yt just cut everyone's income by about half of what it used to be a few months ago. I'm just starting my channel as something I like doing not really for the money so just curious as to what you think?

  • @kiloqubit
    @kiloqubit 5 лет назад +1

    I would say 3-6 months of income saved up is not enough. A year would be better. But, hey, it's your life, you can do whatever.
