Bill, thank you my friend. As I said, you had the guts to do what many, including myself, didn’t do. Wow! What bravery! I appreciate you and your service! God bless you sir!
stayed in greek town in chicago working on the railroad for about 10 years...most souvlaki was pork ..but you did justice to the greek form of cooking!! thank you !!
I made this marinade with sherry vinegar because I didn’t have red wine vinegar. It tasted so good I put it on a salad as dressing and it’s now my new favorite chicken marinade/salad dressing. Thank you!
Mnomnomnomnom that looks sooooo delicious. With every video I like you more. What you said in the end is so true. My youngest brother served in the Dutch army, he was in former Yugoslavia, which was still Yugoslavia back then. It messed him up real bad. In the end it impacted not just him but the whole family, but we got out stronger. I'm proud of him and my whole family on how we dealt with it. Thanks for sharing the images of your riches, your family. ❤❤❤❤❤
Matthew.... You mentioned how hot it was where you are. I spent eight years stationed at Ft. Bragg back in the 70's I still remember just how hot it can get there. I married a North Carolina girl back in 1974, still married to her today. This August will make 46 years. I'm really liking your griddling videos. I'm definitely going to try this one out. I had souvlaki at a Greek restaurant when I was stationed in Germany, but I think it was either beef or lamb. It was very good
Hey Hussey great video. I knew I was going to make chicken on the Blackstone today, but I didn't know . You just made my mine up with that video awesome. Thanks, Perry..........
Little bit of tomato and onion and feta and olive oil with your ingredients on a pita..oh lord just bring me back to Crete back in 2003..love ypur stuff brother have a great weekend
Nicely said brother. Love the long videos. I save all ur recipes to try them on my Blackstone. Thanks to all that serve and have served. Appreciate u all
Gonna make this one for dinner tomorrow. Thanks for the idea Hussey. I'm with you brother. Stay strong in this ridiculous NC heat we've dealt with this summer.
Great video man that looks awesome and i love that you have a little comic side that keeps it light most people are way to serious while cooking here in Minnesota we say hot like grandmas house but that made me laugh have a great day be safe.
Happy Sunday HH. What a scrumptious dish, wow. Great idea on 'shaving' the dill. I never thought of that and I WILL be using that idea, thanks. I love dill. I love the idea of cucumber in the tzatziki sauce. There are Greek churches up here and they have a number of festivals. The food is as authentic as you can get outside of Greece. It's all homemade and delicious! We aren't Greek, but we love going to the festivals and helping them by spending our money there. Thanks for the ideas.....I'm still using a tip you gave in a previous video where you double-dip chicken strips.....milk/egg/flour......let it rest, and then you repeat, let it rest and then into the skillet with oil.....wow that is a **great** idea. I've been hooked on that lately. It's crispy, crunchy and so good. I ended up running out of pepper AND flour! ARRGH, so I can't make it right now. Take care :)
hey man I see I'm a year late but your in my wheel house here I grew up 4 mins from Astoria queens where this is on every corner...After years and years of eating the pork n chicken and then trying to repeat the chicken at home a butcher there said you gotta use the dark meat seasoned in lemon, oregano, oil n salt n pepper....amazing acourse with the tzatziki as you did
Hey Hussey I tried that chicken souvlaki and man it was a big hit with my family. They loved it especially the tzatziki sauce it was a killer sauce. Thanks again Perry...............
Stumbled across your channel a couple of days ago (subscriber here). Been considering a large griddle and thoroughly enjoying your videos. Thank you for mentioning what memorial day is about.... Looking forward to more videos about some tasty looking recipes and cheers from Person county NC.
You have cooked up some nice looking chicken and I hope you all have a great Memorial Day there. Mine will be average and I will be at home celebrating alone or with my local family.
Hussey!, you never fail to impress my friend, that looks abbbsooooluteellyy delicious!!!! I am a huge fan of Tzatziki sauce! but that chicken though, Whew!!! boy! Killin and Grillin the good groceries!
Absolutely brother! It wasn't a lot what I did, but I did pay our respect and we talked about what Memorial Day is and means at dinner table with our 5 yr old.
You've inspired me again...gonna do this next week for dinner, it looks fantastic! Hussy has the OXO Grips Garlic Crusher...the Cadillac of Garlic Presses, I have one as well. See folks...he's got a nice, sharp knife...if you only have one quality item of cookware in the kitchen, make it a 10-12 inch Chefs knife, you can do almost anything with a good knife!
Happy Memorial Day weekend to you and your family, Huss. And thank you to all those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of our country. You will never be forgotten. Awesome video, Matthew! You’re really hitting your stride, my man. That chicken looks incredible and made for one of your prettiest platings in memory. Wonderful stuff. I love Tzatziki sauce sooo much. It’s so cool and refreshing on a hot day like you had. I’ve never made it myself, but yours looked really good and with your guidance now I’ll definitely give it a try. When you salted the cucumber, did you rinse the salt off after, or just leave it as is? Oh! And if you wanted to skip the carbs of the pita, you could make a great lettuce wrap with it. Thanks so much for another gem, buddy. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Until next time, be well.
He Dan! Sorry for the late reply. I'm behind. Haha. Thanks buddy for the kind words about our fallen! We appreciate them! I did not rinse the cucumbers. Just salted them and squeeze every once in a while and discarded the juice.
Thanks for the Memorial Day tribute Matt from this Vietnam veteran who was lucky enough to come home...
