Cheesesteaks on the Blackstone Griddle is a game changer! I used thin sliced ribeye, provolone, and American cheese along with some onions and peppers. This is an easy recipe that will be sure to please your crowd.
This is not a true "Philly". This is just my take on a cheesesteak. Simmer down Philly residents. Haha
Ingredients:
Thin sliced ribeye steak, about 2 lbs
1 Onion sliced
1-2 peppers sliced
Cheese (provolone and yellow american for this)
Rolls (I used Roma brand)
Butter
Olive oil
Seasoning:
2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp beef powder
1-2 tsp garlic powder
Mayo

As a guy from Philly here is a tip! Use both of your spatulas and chop the meat up fine! After that put your cheese in the rolls. Line the meat with peppers and place bun over the meat and peppers 😋

Hussy, 64 yr old retired truck driver... I used to deliver and load down on the waterfront in philly.... i would buy 3 of these 2lb loaves of goodness for 5$ a piece back in the 80s and 90s.... Folks don't know how good these really are until they get one and have tgat feeling.. Outstanding!

Looks great. A little philly secret to make it easy on you next time. Lay the roll on top of the meat while it is still on the griddle slide the spatula under place opposite hand on top of the roll lift and flip together. it keeps all the meat and cheese on the roll. without dropping it all over.
Yeah, I be seen that done before but never have thought to do that.

South Jersey here. 10 minutes from Philly. Home of the cheese steak. Gotta chop that steak with them tools son! Cheese Wiz is the Philly style, no toast on the roll. Mash them on top after the cheese to steam. That being said. You can't go wrong. They looked delicious.

Try this method
Instead of toasting, partially open the roll, and tepee (stand it up) in the warm zone till your ready to put the meat on.
Then, don't split the whole roll so both sides are open.
Place the roll on top of the meat/veggies/cheese with the closed side of the roll up.
Then, when your ready, use your spatula to scoop under the meat, and turn the bun over.
This keeps the cheese on the bottom, and it tastes better.
Also, you don't have a messy eating experience because one side of the roll is closed.
Try it, just a suggestion. Only way I make mine.
For sure man, that's a great way to do them also!
Looks good. I’m tempted cook a ribeye medium rare on the BBQ and then slice it thin. Sauté onions and mushrooms in garlic butter in a pan and then add some philly cream cheese to the vegetables until it all melts and combines and top my sliced steak on a bun with that.

If you have a local place, they might sell you a pack of the rolls. They are Roma brand.
