    Jazakumullahu khayran for providing this insightful content for free. As a student, I have battled anxiety for so many years and right now, I am seeking out helpful and free resources to manage it. For me, It manifests as physical symptoms like shaky hands and voice especially when I have to address a group. It stemmed from a trauma from childhood where I had stage fright and blanked out in front of a large audience. Since then, there has always been this debilitating thought at the back of my mind that maybe I am not that smart, and I know it is not true. This has rippled through to other aspects of my life and made me self-sabotage and almost slip into depression. However, this year I promised myself to try harder to challenge my thoughts and not feel paralyzed by my anxiety. I am eager to implement these tips along side my other coping mechanisms like deep breathing, avoiding overthinking, and self-compassion.
    I love your contents both on mental health and marital topics (although I'm single haha, just educating myself for the future) and I just want to say keep putting out videos like this. You are saving lives mashallah

      @alasryh  3 месяца назад +2

      @@tasnimkhan4545 so what I’m describing shares some similarities with opposite action but it’s actually a little different. I don’t believe the opposite action is always the right course of action. Sometimes it’s the same action with a new intention or a similar action with an adjustment. That’s why I intentionally didn’t mention opposite action

    sAssalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah,
    First of all, may Allah bless you and grant you the best in this life and the hereafter. Jazakallahu Khairan. I recently discovered your channel, and Alhamdulillah, I am so thankful. I can certainly say that this content is absolutely valuable for people who are struggling and dealing with mental health issues, and haven't found a way to handle them well. May Allah make it easy for all of us.
    I have a specific question: When it comes to believing a negative thought, and then taking action-For example, if someone thinks, "I am stupid," but then takes actions like applying for a job they are actually afraid of because of this belief, or writing an essay for university. However, while taking these actions, they don't experience the opposite but instead feel like the job is too complicated or that the essay takes more time to understand and write. How can someone deal with it when these negative experiences reinforce their negative belief systems? Because I often feel and recognize that we tend to act according to the way we think and believe about ourselves. Like when I believe, "This task will be too hard because I am not smart enough," that becomes the outcome. Any advice for that? BarakAllahu Feeki

      @alasryh  2 месяца назад +1

      @@C.hayel. Allah ya baarak feeki! You do it anyways. You don’t give up on the task. And when you’ve accomplished it, you realize that you could actually do it. Or you identify people who can help you. Sometimes the trick isn’t being “smart”, it’s being resourceful.

    It was very insightful. Jazakallahu khayr! I will replace the "believe", "emotions" and "actions" to my owl life and see what I will learn from it. That's a great tool! 😊
    To answer your question at the end: Yes, I'd love to see more of this kind of videos, especially when it comes to mechanisms in the body. With that kind of visualisation it was so easy to understand al hamdulillah. But I also like the videos when you're talking (freely or scripted) on an issue with your calming setring in the background.

    Wallah this video was better than any therapy session I've ever had. And it explained exactly how we react to different things perfectly. I can look at myself and see this in action.
    For me, I've had so many bad experiences with girls that I think that girls who care about self improvement in the way I do don't exist; that I won't find the one that I deserve. I did have few hitches in how I was going about finding a girl, but now with this video and a different approach to getting to know someone, I can start to work on being more positive towards this goal of mine and actually finding someone inshaAllah.
    Also, what do you say about stopping actions that you know won't have the desire outcome? And yes, videos like this are nice. JazakAllahkhair.

      Huge compliment! Thanks! Consider action and inaction the same for all intents and purpose. Either you do something or avoid doing something to help or hurt you at any given time. Disconfirming experiences are when we choose what will serve the best outcome.

    JazakiAllahu khair for the concise and easily digestible empowering info! Quick question: How is disconfirming experience different from cognitive dissonance?

    • @alasryh
      @alasryh  3 месяца назад +1

      @@tay2564 cognitive dissonance is believing two things are true at once yet they’re opposite. Like wanting to get married but believing marriages are rigged against women. This is an unhealthy cognitive distortion that has to be addressed cognitively. Disconfirming experiences are experiences that actively alter your results for the better. They’re action based and give evidence that what you believe is NOT always true.
