I have listened to video after video, podcast after podcast, on and off for years, searching for an answer to why I feel the way I feel. I have never had a message resignate so deeply in me like this video did. I genuinely had an awakening, actually several awakenings in this hour-long video. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing this video!

Agree. That's exactly why relationships don't work - all the voids.
As said, one 'wants a partner not a project'. When ppl come in with their baggage, they're 'projects ... not partners.'
Attraction is the similarity of wounding. Interesting...
    Great interview

Nailed it with “ people are so afraid of feelings - theirs and others! Most fear is inability to tolerate emotions ..” so true! With childhood trauma it’s probably because we weren’t taught to accept , process and manage feelings- especially strong ones or “ negative” ones! I came from a stoic family - feelings weren’t validated or even really allowed!

Hey YOU, incredible person reading this...The truth is you are confident and good enough already with who you are, where you are at and what you have right now to have the success you want in life. Don't let others define what “success” is for you. Get up, learn that skill and go after it! I believe in you so much! Have an awesome day! - Love, Nat ❤️

Brother Ed, this is a parallel narrative to "Agape Love"; which of course is UNconditional love. So many pearls of wisdom spoken and shared there.. thankyou! It's like a manifesto of "Spiritual Economics", I realized upon reflection.. so good Ed!
I love the last pearl of wisdom Frank shared when he commented that everyone has an infinite spirit of infinite possibilities, AND we all have trauma too.
ie: we all bring our good AND our bad with us wherever we go.. that TRUTH that whever you go, there YOU are is universally true, and to the degree we can give ourselves an emotional self correction. Very profound! #Grateful #Thankful

@@EdMylettShow The introduction clobbered me. He's exactly right. Some of us walking wounded look for others, usually romantic relationships, to make us whole.
The notion that our relationships are "50/50" is not right. We each need to be whole individuals.
Anyway, I profoundly realized I have been wanting what I don't want in relationships.
And not getting it was depressing.
I know exactly what I want. It's on my vision list.
Your guest helped me to see I'm wanting something that has been proven unfulfilling for l, well...all my life.

  • @jazznbluessinger

Omgeeee.... can't even BEGIN to tell you how much I appreciated this and how much it all resonated with my life... past and present!! I've become so aware that I want a peaceful life and relationship but have no idea what that truly looks like based on a very chaotic childhood. How do you create something that you don't know what that looks or feels like? It's been a journey. I'm in a good place in my life just ready to uncover the things that keep me pushing myself so hard, overachieving, addicted to work (because THAT'S safe AND productive!!)...I thought I was running from something but Really... I've been recreating the feelings of chaos and nervousness which is totally duplicating my childhood!! Bizarre to finally be seeing this in my life. 🙏💕
Right there with you Ed... very decisive in most all of my life but relationships... I go wonky and don't seem to be as decisive. Ugh.
Thank you so much you guys! Brilliant!! 🙏🥰

Loved this beautiful show with Dr. Frank! Both of you do amazing work! I want to come on your show and talk about my childhood trauma, addiction and recovery! I want everyone to know that no matter how old you, what you've been through or what you've done, you CAN change and find your happiness!! I lived a terrible life until I found help almost 4 years ago. My Mom did drugs with me when I was 17 and then we graduated to heroin. I had to break free of my Mom and get the help that I desired and deserved! My life is now amazing! I had to learn how to be a great Mom to my own children and I had to get to know MYSELF! Anxiety and all! I've come so far and I now I would love to show others that they deserve to be happy too! Thank you Ed, I appreciate you! 😊❤️

So good! Each of us plays the part of victim and perpetrator.
The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and Self-reflection is a worthy activity. Our minds excel at holding onto inaccurate beliefs, and faulty biases stemming from our personal trauma. The apparatus to get unstuck is to intuitively slowing down enough, and like you said Ed, “just take a walk with ourselves”, so we can dial into a healthy frequency and acknowledge who we are, what is healthy, what’s most important to us, etc. A self-connection tactic to be faithful to our authentic nature, so we can compassionately make choices that mirror our interests and our desired outcomes in our personal and business relationships. We were meant to enjoy and connect in healthy relationships with others... looking inward is the first-step.
Thank you Dr. Frank Anderson wisdom in sharing that, “Trauma blocks Love and Connection, and Love and Connection heals Trauma.”

Anything can trigger PTSD, seeing specific things, touch/feel, smell, memory, location, people, resemblance, scenarios, scenes, sceneries, etc. So the quickest way to clear the whole list is by going moving on asap. This is why in some relationships that break up, one of the partners usually gets into a rebound relationship, or other, and move on so fast as if it never phased them while the other suffers in pain. That person then also has to get physical or in a rebound with someone else to realize there are other opportunities out there and you're not alone. This is usually harder for less attractive people or overweight folks, etc. But that's where it begins. Understand the issues clearly, and work on fixing your problems one by one. Focus on yourself and your destiny.

This is so powerful!! There are so many take aways. I think the most profound take away for me was the conversation about identity. Not realizing that no matter how much work you do to move forward, if you are still identify with that past reality or event that is what you will attract more of. Learning how to detach from that identity and embody a new. While I have heard different versions of this before, it really hit me in a different way today. I felt my brain shift somehow. Thank you so much for providing us with so many amazing conversations!

Sounds really lovely that we are repeating our wounds in order to heal them. And I think it is NOR TRUE. If we think critically we may realise that we repeat our wounds just because they are familiar. Period. Because it is all we know. The “in order to heal them” part is quite romantic but hard to justify. The “simply because they are familiar” can be justified mechanistically. So we may need to revisit this…

As always BEAUTIFUL session, love it all the way, again as always. What I find though is that for people like me that struggle with other issues, often the exact opposite of what was discussed here (don't like those familydinners, I just don't go, couldn't care less what they'll think) so more the selfishness/lack of empathy/ lack of being able to oversee(feel) the things I do (or NOT do) or say or not say which might hurt people that genuinely care for me and want the best for me. Thinking too much only of what I want and less about how the other person might feel or want.. I never have stress, anxiety nothing touches me, but that is where it goes too far. For me. I seem to feel too little, empathywise etc. So I feel like almost untouchable emotionally (like only my wife is my Achilles-heel) but now that I'm 45 I found that I am too far and not emotional enough or something.Bet there are many others like me, feeling very strong, untouchable...but struggling like me with what i tried to describe. Seems to me that side of the coin doesnt get adressed as often but can also keep you back very much in life. I always thought everyone is so overreactive, soft, emo, always crying..And I'm not enough of that, I see now.

Thank you for talking about “stacking”..how when you experience trauma you then go on to do things and behave in certain ways that “stack”..so dealing with the double edge of traumas and a “stack” of totally shameful experiences after the fact, that when I think about it is so overwhelming, flashbacks and I just cringe. Thank you for this insight and that other people are also experiencing this. Many blessings to you both!

    Thank you Ed & Dr Frank Anderson !! Great interview …many takeaways …the 8 C s …internal therapy…people w/ similar wounds ..tend to be drawn to each other…shifting within …giving to ourselves …what we didn’t get…decisions & underlying fear…every victim is also a perpetrator !!!! Wow !! ⭐️✨

Thank you, Ed and Dr. Frank, for this conversation. I got a ton of value out of this...watching this to kick off my Monday morning and start to the week here. Thank you for the insights, the tone of the conversation, and the inspiration to self-reflect. All the best fellas!

All of this was incredible. Especially the part at the end that each and every one of us has both victim and perpetrator parts within us. That is really helpful in getting more people to let go of focusing and getting stuck on blame/fault. Blame requires the victim/perp dynamic. But healing is a responsibility. We can’t take responsibility if we are clinging to blame/victimhood. While what we experience may not be our “fault,” healing our wounds is our responsibility. Thank you so much for this!

Like every other of your podcast interviews, this was so good!
I heard someone said before: look to understand instead of being understood; be interested in others first versus being interesting.
Another point I totally agree with: victims have perpetrator in them too. The perfect example is one in an abusive relationship; victim knows s/he's in an abusive relationship but refuses to leave.

Perfect timing for this insightful podcast as I'm going through the challenging part of my marriage relationship. I have learned and gleaned some important things that influence my behavior and know that I have it all inside of me to heal. I believe what the world needs now is love.. Love heals trauma.. Much appreciated Ed..

Thank you for this wonderful conversation. The part about having love but no peace really hit home, that was not something I had put together throughout the healing work and it really cleared up another layer. Thank you both for this informative and very healing talk.

Per usual another another amazing guest and more amazing life changing take aways, I feel so blessed by your channel Ed! I took so many notes I had to keep pausing and replaying.
The mind blowing part for me was to hear that fear and especially fear in decision making for most people was based off their own inability to tolerate emotions! 🤯 I had never looked at it like that but wow, I will now.
Thank you to you both!! So good 😊
P.S. Ed you ask amazing thought provoking questions. A true master coach and I’m so thankful for that.
