I am married to a great guy. My 51st anniversary is coming up. Your video is spot on. No matter what your lifestyle is, you have to learn to love and let go. Letting go of our expectations for others is good for everyone. Love your honesty. God bless you.
Oh, Elizabeth, I am just like you and my husband is Bill personified. My being up all night has driven him crazy for over 35 years. It’s taken him all this time to just let it go. He is in at home hospice care now and he relies on me throughout the night and we both finally have come to realize that God had a plan that brought us together.
Wow-I needed to hear this today. Our 40 year marriage has been in turmoil for some time now. My husband wants me to be & think like HIM-for some reason & .also our business has become his Main focus instead of our family ( 3 children & 6 Beautiful grand kids. ). We are Christians & know that the enemy wants to destroy what we have. I appreciate your wise counsel & covet your prayers. Much love to you BOTH from NC❤
Our 40th in May and it's been personally a good year, cos the world is giving us enough to worry about everything seems to be going crazy!! Once our front door is shut we are happy away from the madness. Nice Video guys. 🇬🇧🇬🇧
I’ll pray for you both. After 46 yrs of marriage we realized that neither of us is right or wrong in the way we do things, it’s just different. So it’s not wrong. Marriage is always a work in progress.
Lynn…. If you faith is in God don’t stop believing the not you but The Holy Spirit can and willing wants to change him. Let’s agree in prayer than God will slowly get his attention and cause him to bend in your marriage.
We Love you both!! Thank you for this video! My darling husband and I have been married for almost 32 years. He is a saint and I’m so very blessed to have him. I almost lost him to colon cancer 3 years ago, but God miraculously healed him. All Glory to Him!!! Keep on doing what you do and being your authentic selves. We certainly enjoy watching you guys interact so lovingly.
This is my FAV video y’all have ever done together!!! Thank you both for your transparency about your struggles and triumphs! Y’all are probably saving some marriages , by doing this video ! Y’all are the cutest couple on u-tube !!! Love y’all SO very much !! Sending you both a huge hug from TN !!!! Elizabeth , I would love to have a friend like you . I have prayed for a friend with your similar qualities for so long . I love your passion for Jesus and your loving , kind , gentle , but yet fun loving & adventurous spirit . I’ve been binge watching a lot of your videos . I admire your husband for his willingness to seek wisdom from God on how to be a better husband . I’m thankful God opened his eyes to help him realize not to try and change you . What a precious husband !! I can tell y’all really love each other . I admire you , so much , Elizabeth! You are an amazing example of what a godly woman and wife should be . I’m SO happy the FL climate is helping your health !!! You look so happy and at peace ! Have fun decorating !! I love to see your bloopers and also all the decorating ! I feel like I’m decorating a new house with a friend !!! 😀😀😃❤️❤️❤️ have a blessed day in the joy of the Lord !!!
I like your comment & you put it in a nutshell. I'll pray for you too have a friend like Elizabeth! I'd love to be her friend too. Best wishes from somewhere here in TN also. Have a great day today.
My husband is up between 4-5 and I’m not that way at all , I’m like Elizabeth my most productive time is at night , I start doing laundry and all kinds of things, it’s like I get a boost of energy. But I will sleep in until 9 then I need my coffee and then maybe I’ll start my day! My husband and I have learned to live with our different rythms in life! Oh we will be married for 45 year’s November 25th. Thanks for sharing and being honest!❤️💙💜
Iam the early one my husband later. Like you I got my cleaning g done while he slept. I always said if opposites attract poster was out we would be on it. We were married 51 years and he passed two days before Christmas. Love each other for who you are because a broken heart and grief are worse than anything you can imagine. My best to everyone and may you always be happy, healthy and safe.
The hardest thing to do is to change ourselves and yet we think we can change another as if they're an object under our control. We all have quirks and that's what makes us unique. Keep it up you guys.
That’s me! I feel terrible guilt. My husband has said “you’re on night watch” Sometimes I feel like I’m missing out on life with my family. People Judge night owls. It’s not intentional, I’ve been doing it since childhood. Took me FOREVER to sleep as a kid. I want to just be okay with who God created me to be without feeling the guilt. Thank you both for sharing this.
Congrats on almost 45 years together, you two are TRUE soulmates! Regardless of the ups and downs, you made it and adversity that is overcome only strengthens the marriage. You should both be beyond proud. My very elderly neighbor told me the secret to a successful marriage is there has to be mutual respect, trust and integrity. You can't smother one another, and you always have to remember is about "us", not "me". She also told me you should not marry the one you can live with, you should marry the one you can't live without! Sound advice.
53 years married with many ups downs and arounds. Commitment seems to be a thing of the past. I’m thankful for all of our adventures but looking back it seems like a dream that has gone way to fast. I can’t wait to see what the future has for us 💞
Thank you for this video, it helped me understand my sister, I couldn’t understand why she stays up all night and then sleeps the good portion of the day, I kept on her about it thinking that’s crazy. She is in her 70’s retired from a night shift job and that was her life for 35yrs being up all night and sleeping in the day. Now I can understand her reasoning by what y’all explained. Be blessed and thank you both for your wonderful videos!❤
Linnie, I too worked night shift in a hospital for 35 years. I retired when the pandemic hit. It was pretty terrible being unable to sleep at night with the rest of the family. It's very lonely. Just recently I have been able to condition myself to only stay up until midnight and sleep for 7-8 hours. There is hope out there if you desire to change. Your sister may be perfectly happy the way it is and I wish you both well.
@@shewolf3813 my sister is and I don’t think she will do any different any time soon, she loves being up all night. Me I’m in bed before 9 pm and up by 4 or 5am.
This year we’re celebrating 55yrs. and this video is SPOT ON! Thank you for sharing your platform in such a vital way today. You have done a tremendous insight for married couples everywhere. God bless you both.
What a wonderful, insightful video this is. I’m up 2-3 hours before my husband in the morning and he’s usually up a couple of hours after I go to bed at night. We are both pretty much retired with my husband getting part time work mostly late mornings or afternoons. I have my morning routine and I realized my husband has the same routine later when he gets up. I’m my most productive in the morning than by mid afternoon I’m done for the day except for making dinner. My husband on the other hand, is most productive in the afternoon and evening. I tried to change him most recently when I retired thinking he needed to get up with me and start the day. I really have come to enjoy my mornings to myself and get things done earlier in the day. There is a peace that has come between us that wasn’t there when I worked and when I first retired. You look like are both in good health and I’m glad Elizabeth is breathing much better. Take care and God bless.
This video really hit home. I won't speak for my husband but I have come to understand that we couldn't and shouldn't try to change each other. Our differences make our marriage whole. I would not tell him the things he did that annoy me, just let them simmer inside. All that did was make me annoyed with him. When I decided to just let him be himself, I was happier myself.
Bingo! Exactly right! Married 56 years and wishing all the youth could listen to this video. I am sure at first they might think "yeah right".......I don't even think it is realized that it is a real thing. :-) Indeed it is. The more you let go the more that enters into your life in a much calmer and happier way. You will find more peace, more love and a more blessed relationship, family and life together. Beautiful video and I so enjoyed this. I love when I see you have posted a video. Happy to see you enjoying your dream life in Florida and it reminds me of our first three years of marriage in St Pete. McDill was our first duty station. Loved it! 😎😎💗💗
This is probably my favorite video of yours. Some of Elizabeth’s facial expressions, the mm-hmm’s and head nods while Bill was speaking just cracked me up. I love your relationship and commitment to each other.
Marriage counseling prior is very important. It helps you determine how to deal with issues that help you resolve problems, etc. So very helpful! (42+ years married)
What a wonderful video and a great reminder, and possibly a wake-up call, to many……..including myself. I’m the morning person in our home. An early riser and most productive before noon. After lunch it’s a gradual decline for me. My husband is a “night owl”. Sometimes up till 2-3 in the morning and sleeping till maybe noon. Before he retired from the police force, he worked night shift and refused every opportunity to move to days! It has taken me many years to “get-it”! While it is still frustrating at times, I try my best to let it be. We’ve been married 27 yrs and I pray we are blessed with many more. By the way, what a beautiful backdrop and I’m not jealous🤭 God Bless🙏
We are on year 46. We too had some tough years. I had to learn to stand up for myself and not accept his attempts to manipulate me. I went and got some help. That gave me the strength to speak up. I also told him I would not even discuss divorce unless he had the papers ready for me to sign. That put a stop to that. It was mostly a bludgeon to manipulate me.
So true about the marriage info. We have been married for 52 years and have gone through the best and worst of times but always worked it through together. Life is not easy and as we grow we change and if we don't except the changes in our lives then we will not survive. We both made these vows to each other and God and that is why we still are together. He is my best friend and I am his. I understand Bills reference to not respecting the others feeling and views but it is so important to feel respected and heard. Life and marriage gets a little easier as you get older but it still need work and commitment on both sides. I have always said that once Rick is gone I will never marry again, not because it was bad but because my love for him will last me forever.
I am enjoying watching FL's weather thru your videos. Elizabeth sounds so much better and shows how happy she is thru feeling better. Even Bill also seems to be relaxing into the new environment. I have been widowed many years and enjoy this point of my life as I adjust to this aging body. I remind myself when I'm frustrated that God always gives me WHATEVER I NEED so I can do WHATEVER I AM CALLED to do! I'm glad you've chosen to compliment each other's heart! I wish I could have realized this fact in my later marriage, but I am glad I can pass this along to others! Be blessed!
When I came across your videos, Elizabeth was so lovely and fun I wanted to keep coming back. Thank you Bill for letting Elizabeth be Elizabeth- we all would would’ve missed the blessing of her! That way is God’s way!
I love this & I agree with everything you said. We celebrated our 31st anniversary on 2/ 1/2023. We too have struggled at times. This was our 2nd marriage. In 1997 we lost my son Cameron & in 2004 we lost my husband’s son David, Jr. We too have found not trying to change each other has made our marriage stronger. He goes to bed early; I go to bed late. When he goes to bed, I lay down with him for about an hour and we talk. It is my favorite time of day. Making a marriage work can be difficult. However, when you allow it to happen, it can be such a blessing. Bill & Elizabeth, you are such a special example of that. Thank you for sharing your special love with us.
I love how transparent you guys are about this topic and sharing your personal struggles with marriage. I'm so happy Bill was smart enough to pick up a book and apply the lessons to the relationship and now you guys are such an amazing team.
Beautiful! ❤️ My hubby and I are as different as night and day. We always say, " together we make one really great person." I so agree, when you start changing or comparing...you lose. God knows what He's doing and He also has a sense of humor. Haha😂
“Don’t try to change your spouse.” Great advice, I can surely use this in my marriage. Virtually all our disagreements come down to this. And by the way Elizabeth’s sleeping pattern isn’t different from yours, yours is different from hers. 😂
Great marriage counseling! But, it also plays to human interaction in general, especially workplace. I’ve been frustrated with how certain coworkers were, and had I had this lesson to refer to, it would have greatly decreased my stress in wanting to choke them to the floor!! Lol 😂You’re a terrific couple, and I so enjoy your videos. Keep those Pioneer Woman videos coming, Elizabeth!! Lol ♥️🙏🏼🙏🏼
Wonderful video! I'm a senior (not married) but, can so relate to this video. I'm the one who wakes very early (between 4-5am) & is most alert & productive in the mornings. Most of my friends are the opposite & "come alive" in the evenings...while I am "done" by 8pm. On the other hand, I'm much like Elizabeth in my love for adventure but, not-so-much the adrenaline rush. I've dated men in the past who were (in some areas) determined to change me to their "correct" ways. I ended up ultimately leaving the relationship due to feeling smothered. I love how you talk so openly about embracing these differences, instead of trying to bend your spouse to your ways. I think that many of a couple's differences can serve to compliment & enrich each other's lives. So enjoying seeing you both enjoying your Winter in Florida. It makes my heart happy that you were able to purchase this beautiful home & get to enjoy decorating & making it your own.🥰
This is the reason why I come back to your channel over and over again. I am certain I don't agree with you on religion, nor politics nor maybe even social policies, but when I see videos like this I know you are thoughtful, kind and self critical folks. I am just grateful we get to learn from your growth and self discovery.
Key, I know exactly what you're saying about not being in agreement with them politically, on social issues, etc. I suspect you and I would be. So basically I've learned to just skip those videos, because there's so much else about them, that I love and admire!!
I am getting up at 5 a.m. and my hubby is just about to go to sleep. We have 4 sons that live in South Dakota and Ireland and he gets to communicate with them gaming...He has tried to include me in this practice, but I am not a gamer. I love board games, so I have given the love with my grandchildren. Yes..there are a few thing!! He likes dinner late.. I am done with dinner between 4 and 5 pm.. We certainly have worked all these things out---Praise the Lord!! Your video sure made me smile!! Have a great day. Be blessed.
Those bloopers are what humanizes you. I love watching them and I love watching your interactions together. Your marriage advice is something every young couple needs to hear.
Coming up on 45, that's great! My hubby and I hit 50 years, coming up on 51. There've been some really tough times but we got through it. Lots of love, patience and prayers helps. God bless you both!
I really enjoyed watching this video tonight. I was married over 43 years when my husband died nearly 10 yrs ago. He was 63. We'd been together since we were teens. We had both looked so forward to our 50th anniversary. I celebrated it anyway. My friends threw a small party, and we shared memories together. I say that to say this, not many get to share the milestones we have. Not as many getting married and even more divorcing. It can all be over in the blink of an eye, folks. Love 'em while you have 'em. God bless.
I feel the downfall of most relationships is exactly what you have said. One, or both partners want to change the one they supposedly love. I don’t think most are even conscious of the behavior, but you putting this video out there made me reflect on my own past relationships and I’m pretty sure that’s why I am alone. I just could never find an even balance. What a great video you guys!!! Thank you!
My husband and I are the same way! He goes to bed at 9pm and gets up around 5am and I go to bed around midnight-1am and sleep until 9am. He tries to get me to go to bed with him at 9pm but I’ll just lay there awake until midnight lol. So this is so funny to me. Like you guys, we have now learned to accept each other’s ways. I like Pioneer Woman 😂
This video was the best one you’ve ever made. It really touched home with me. It was so honest and so needed, for I would guess many marriages/couples. I know from experience that my husband tries to micro manage me , and all it does is build up resentments and anger. I would love if you could make a video about how you deal with each other when one of you is sick, And one person becomes unable to do what they used to do… Because that can cause problems too. Thank you so much for your honesty it really resonates with me.❤
It takes a lot of courage and insight to admit that you are at fault, then try and correct your behavior towards your partner. You two are lucky to have found each other in the beginning to start this journey together. I stayed single, not finding that right person to spend a lifetime with. And for me, thats Ok. I think a person has to also learn to love and accept themselves too. Such great advice and I hope your video has helped others in their marriage. God Bless you both - you're quite a charming couple!
Bill and Elizabeth, thank you so much for sharing parts of your lives the way that you do. I am not married, but I just found this video so uplifting in how spouses are to love and respect one another. I have to say to Bill, Bill, you had a video back on July 5, 2017 titled "You Don't Know Her Story (don't be troll). That was such an amazing message that you shared with your Channel Community! Listen, that ministered to me in ways you could not begin to possibly imagine. Bill and Elizabeth, I also want to say I just love all your videos so much. They are wholesome, they are encouraging, they are edifying. They truly come from God. They are straight from the heart of God. Thank you again, I love you both so much , from your Sister in Christ, I pray never ending Blessings over each of you in all areas of your lives in Jesus Mighty Name I Pray! 😊😊😊❤️❤️❤️✝️✝️✝️
You two are such a joy to watch! And yes, the silliness absolutely draws this viewer in and makes you both so relatable. You had me actually laugh out loud. Keep up the realness. It’s what makes you both endearing to watch. God is so good.
What a lovely video you have shared. You are as "book ends" to a beautifully created life and journey. I am the morning person that had to work 29 years of my 50 yr nursing career on night shift. I became an artisan at switching gears. Newly retired, I was like a caged restless tiger married to a wonderful but sickly husband that is terminal. Sometimes I felt absolutely shackled...never to travel, never to have the retirement adventures we had longed for. Yet, I have been given and found great contentment now in my current situation with my life-long love of nearly 50 years. Life and marriage is worth the effort, the devotion, and we are rewarded with joy! Blessings to you both. I wish you so much love and time together.
Yup, Bill, we DO like that stuff! For example, seeing the new (thrifted, so relative term) pictures (estrogen buffers 😀) for the bedroom walls. Elizabeth, that was a perfect short. So glad the two of you have come to this place of peace and appreciation with who each other is and willingness to work through whatever you need to. God's plan for marriage.
I too have a husband like yours! When we first got married I thought I could change him! I found out that we are all happier being who God created us to be. It took patience and time, but we worked thru this hard times and were much happier for learning to do so. My husband is so much like Bill! Men and women are created different and unique by our creator! I believe it works because we tend to balance each other out. I cannot build, but he cannot see etc. It will be 55 years this summer and I consider him the love of my life!!! We laugh together and at each other and ourselves! Laughter is very important also! It has been a lot of years, but a short journey! I'n a time when marriages (especially happy ones don't seem to be the norm) there is a lot we can offer others on how to achieve one! God continue to bless you on the joutrney😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Bill you learned what we all need to learn & that is not changing the qualities that you don’t like in the person you love but rather changing the qualities in our own selves to be more tolerant, understanding & accepting. I had to learn too with my husband of 43 years & I know he had to learn too. ;)
Great video! I’ve been married less almost a year now after being single most of my adult life. I was terrified to remarry, but so glad I did. My husband is wonderful.
So beautiful! ❤️ love you both. Thank you much. I'm divorced after a 31 year marriage and man if I could go back knowing what I know now I'd choose to be more patient, learn to breathe, relax, lighten up and pray earnestly before making any decisions. I thought we had to think as one and act as one on everything. Oh my what a wrong way to think!! Even though we are joined as one in God's sight, we are still individuals and are to support each other's goals and dreams, respect each other's ways of thinking and their uniqueness. Adventureously discover the mystery of one another! Sacrifice for one another. Believe in one another. Pray pray pray for God's help daily in all things. So much I could say... God will teach you how to minister to your mate as you humble yourself and pray. I pray for the success of marriages. ❤
This is an absolute GREAT video for people to hear! Bill my hat's off to you for first admitting being wrong and the self awareness it takes to even get that!! That is huge! I totally get it however, as I am an early riser, I hit the ground running when I get up and it's usually between 5 and 6:00 am. My husband who has since passed was a night owl. It used to drive me nuts when he'd saunter out around 10:30 - 11:00 am, then still have to spend time waking up. To me half the day is gone by then LOL. Anyway, same thing by night time 8 to 9 I'm crashing and he's wide awake. I had to learn the same thing, we are all different with different internal clocks. I also, when doing a project like to get it done in a timely fashion. Not him.... In my eyes he would drag his feet, I would end up nagging which only made it worse until I finally understood he will get it done but in his time. This is a great topic to address and wisdom that definitely could help a lot of marriages.. Well done!!
My favorite thing about your videos is your Christian focus. My second favorite thing is how you two compliment each other so well. Part of that is because you are so different. You all are just a joy to watch ❤
This is one of the best videos I have ever watched. I think it should be a pre-marital requirement for all. 😊 You both are such good and inspirational human beings. Take care. ❤❤
This video was SUPERB!!!! Excellent insight into what works, and what doesn’t work in a marriage. Appreciate your differences! Don’t expect your spouse to be a carbon copy of you! You will only make your spouse unhappy and friction will abound. Thank you so much, Bill and Elizabeth. You both show that if God is first in your marriage and you truly love your spouse, these differences can be worked out successfully.
Perfect advice...don't try to change your spouse. My husband was a night owl and would stay up until the wee hours of the morning then sleep in until noon which used to really aggravate me because I was up early and ready to go. I learned never to make flight reservations or anything else for early morning because he would be deeply sleeping! Once I realized I couldn't change him I learned to accept his different body chemistry and make plans of my own for morning activities so I wouldn't just stay home and watch him sleep. We were happily married for 40 years after I learned to stop trying to change him!
I liked you guys before but thinking now I ❤ you 😂. This is so on spot advice. My husband has been way better about not trying to change me then me about trying to change him. But when he did try to change the way I do or think, I found it hurtful and insulting, and I realized what it must be like when I did this to him 😟 now I just take joy in the fact that we have each other, we love each other, and it has made life so good..48 years and still going strong with the immense help of the Lord. Because just in ourself it would not happen like this. PTL
Thank you so much for this video. Most of the time couples don't realize that they can't change another human being. Also realize that each of you complement each other with different gifts that you both have. I love the People that understand not to trample on their mate. Therefore you gain more in Life. Thanks again!!💛
Great advice! I'm up early and cherish my alone time. I think this is typical of a lot of couples or people who live together. I like both of your video styles.
Great video. I totally agree with you both. Don’t forget the person you fell in love with and couldn’t wait to spend your life together. I think you can understand your spouse for the person they are and figure out how to live together in harmony. It sometimes just takes a little time to get there.
I loved this one! And even after 40 years of marriage, it made me take a step back and think. Marriage is about love and trust. Without those there is no marriage. You two are awesome and I enjoy both of your videos no matter what you are filming. Keep up the good work. And the pink office is awesome and a very bright and happy place!
I appreciate your authenticity and honesty! I wish more people; especially people in my life like my dad would understand this. That people aren’t all made the same. He’s an early riser and also doesn’t need a lot of sleep. I honestly need 10-10.5 hours of sleep to not be grumpy and actually function. And I am a total night owl and so my day if I’m at home is starting projects around 2pm or so, but I’ll go till dark or work in the dark. I usually go to bed 10:30pm-12am or so. I’m not less productive. I just have a shifted schedule and am efficient, thoughtful, and work hard with the time I do dedicate to working.
Elizabeth, your joy is so beautiful to witness. It's in your smile. It's because you enjoy what you enjoy. I always feel much more at peace from watching you. Thanks for inspiring me to just relax and be me ☺️❤️
Congrats on the longevity of your marriage! Those are great words of wisdom. One thing to add is that as a person, you or your spouse may change in different seasons of their life and you need to let that happen and love them even if they seem very different. My wife has been very tolerant as I've grown in my faith and changed and is embracing who I am today. Also, I don't try to force her to change with me. We'll be married 36 years in September.
My poor husband has had to accept me changing drastically after a concussion turned into post concussion syndrome. It caused a lot of confusion for a while. So I don't know whether he's just accepted that I'm different or whether I'm my old self again. Doesn't really matter as long as we can work with it. We've been married 41 years this June. Love these videos. Bill and Elizabeth feel like extended family that you know are there but you just don't get too see in person. But one day. M Maranatha.
That was such a wonderful video showing the only real way to get along with your spouse or anyone else for that matter. ACCEPTANCE. I was one of those lucky ones who had for the most part a very happy marriage. I sadly lost my husband 6 years ago. He passed away exactly 3 months to the day of our 57th anniversary. I guess I shouldn't say lost, because I have him in my heart and in my memories, but I miss his presence. I feel bad for those who squabble all the time, life is just too short for that. Thank you for sharing how you have made your lives and marriage work, I truly hope it helps others take a look and see what may be wrong and not working for them. Have a Blessed day and Bill, please leave in the bloopers.😃😃😃
She is RIGHT! I’m a woman and LOVE pioneer woman!❤ you guys are so great! I love to see your faith lived out in “real life” RUclips videos. Your like comfy grandparents with loads of wisdom and your not afraid to share your struggles in life. Thank you! We need more people like you both! God bless you!
Absolutely right on! So much compromise and leeway is needed when doing any endeavor. We’re coming up on 45 years of marriage and boy, the years and years of learning each other’s “quirks” is a work in progress. Your words are of great value, a testament of encouragement and appreciation for each other. We each carry very different histories, neither is right or wrong, just learning to compliment each other with acceptance is the gift.
We just had our 35th anniversary back in September. My wife is on the "Bill" schedule and I am totally on the "Elizabeth" schedule. Thankfully it has always worked out great for us. God bless you both!
I told my neighbor....go see Elizabeth's Pioneer Woman stuff! See?? LOL I could relate. Our 40 years of marriage before Jeff passed were good until we ever tried to change each other. Sooo true! Find each other's strengths. Great video.
I can empathize with Elizabeth about having a loved one who is daring. One of my daughters is the same level of daring. She takes precautions, and I know she wouldn't be happy or as strong a person if she didn't do these things. She has inspired me to face my fears, and the greatest gift that I can give her is to share in her happiness with these adventures.
Been watching you both for a while and I have to say I enjoy both of your videos so I thank you both for sharing God bless you both and compliment each other it’s a journey we all need to enjoy
So, being it's 5:22 am and you guys uploaded 17 minutes ago... Good morning, Early Birds! I try to get up early and found this video in my feed. But I tend to be more of a night person, and of course, I am heading back to bed for a few hours. I know how Elizabeth feels! Thanks for the advice, and if I ever get remarried or even find someone special, I will not try and not change them. 😊
loved this video and love your different styles. Bill's building videos are spot on and keep moving Elisabeth's videos are relational and so sweet. We need both in this case for a balanced channel. Thanks for talking to us about this, it was fun.
48 years married & yes you need to be patient with one another. My husband, like Bill is an early riser, he would get so upset with me as I''m a night owl & would start a project at 11pm. That is just how we are wired, some of us as my husband do their best work in the early morning & some of us late at night. You have to except the differences in one another. Love you two.
💖We learned in the second year of our marriage how helpful it was to have different inner clocks. We had our daughter. I was up and taking care of her first thing every day. He was wide awake and taking care of her late at night with the last bottle and letting her fall asleep in his arms. We never really questioned how different we were from the start. 50 years now and we still appreciate how different we are. We know how to argue successfully. We know when to leave each other alone. And we have learned how to leave times that were sad behind us. Our pastor, who was also my dad, was very helpful. His first course of action was to take my husband's side and encourage me to calm down. I have been blessed and love that I have had my husband by my side all my life. Thanks for sharing your story. Loved all the wisdom you shared. ❇❇❇
I was at a big thrift sale last Saturday and I was thinking about you Elizabeth. There were so many pictures there. I’m sure you would have found something for your lovely home. I love thrifting and finding little treasures. I’m working on 54 years of marriage. Marriage is not easy. I’m so thankful the Lord has helped me in mine. I could not have made it without the Lord.
We’ve been married 52 years and we have been pretty much opposites as you are. I’ve always been a late night person and my husband a very early up and going kind of guy. It definitely caused friction in the early years but as an 81 years old and a 72 year old, our clocks have meshed better. He sleeps in more and I go to bed earlier (not asleep however). Love you guys and both your videos. God bless you both.
How refreshing to be able to help each other instead of fighting and to compromise when needed. You both look at life together and make it work no matter the differences. I'll bet Molly needs to compromise also since Barry likes excitement like his dad. Elizabeth, you are sounding so much better and Florida sure does agree with you both !! Keep moving forward and thank you both for sharing your lives with us.
Bill you are more serious and all business and Elizabeth brings warmth and laughter . You two compliment each other very well!
Well said! Love her giggles and smiles. Yes she is very warm and happy which is good for the soul.
I am married to a great guy. My 51st anniversary is coming up. Your video is spot on. No matter what your lifestyle is, you have to learn to love and let go. Letting go of our expectations for others is good for everyone.
Love your honesty. God bless you.
Yes I agree👍🏻
❤
@@debiogle3798 Thank you Debi! Your prayers are both NEEDED & much APPRECIATED❤️
Lynn…. If you faith is in God don’t stop believing the not you but The Holy Spirit can and willing wants to change him. Let’s agree in prayer than God will slowly get his attention and cause him to bend in your marriage.
Prayers for your marriage. 🙏
I'm from North Carolina too.
❤️😊🥰
😊❤️🥰
@@reginawilliams226 thank you !!! ❤️ hope you have a great day too !!!
@@mppar3104 Thank you so much ♥
My husband is up between 4-5 and I’m not that way at all , I’m like Elizabeth my most productive time is at night , I start doing laundry and all kinds of things, it’s like I get a boost of energy. But I will sleep in until 9 then I need my coffee and then maybe I’ll start my day! My husband and I have learned to live with our different rythms in life! Oh we will be married for 45 year’s November 25th. Thanks for sharing and being honest!❤️💙💜
Wow
Sigh if only I'd known 11 years ago.
😔
Sending a hug. ❤️
Both of you have very nice videos…I enjoy them all👍👍
Ditto here too.
The hardest thing to do is to change ourselves and yet we think we can change another as if they're an object under our control. We all have quirks and that's what makes us unique. Keep it up you guys.
Well said.
That’s me! I feel terrible guilt. My husband has said “you’re on night watch”
Sometimes I feel like I’m missing out on life with my family.
So good!
Me too night shift 26 years,,,same thing,
This year we’re celebrating 55yrs. and this video is SPOT ON! Thank you for sharing your platform in such a vital way today. You have done a tremendous insight for married couples everywhere. God bless you both.
I guess we aren't doing too bad we will our 41 years together. Hugs
❤
😄
By the way, what a beautiful backdrop and I’m not jealous🤭
God Bless🙏
😄
It makes my heart happy that you were able to purchase this beautiful home & get to enjoy decorating & making it your own.🥰
I'm in this weird in between point. It will vary. Often based on whatever sleep routine comes from my wacky work schedule....
This is the reason why I come back to your channel over and over again. I am certain I don't agree with you on religion, nor politics nor maybe even social policies, but when I see videos like this I know you are thoughtful, kind and self critical folks. I am just grateful we get to learn from your growth and self discovery.
❤️😊
Be blessed.
Good advice! My husband and I will be married 42years in August I can relate to you both. God bless you both.
Those bloopers are what humanizes you. I love watching them and I love watching your interactions together. Your marriage advice is something every young couple needs to hear.
On a funny note let me add, I kelp a eye on the water watching out for alligators 🐊 snickering up behind y’all lol!
I actually told Bill that it would be pretty wild if we looked at the video later and actually saw an alligator behind us! 😜😄
@@LiveSimpleLiveFree That would be hilarious, maybe they would have learned something about not trying to change people into food lol.
I love watching you two compliment one another, as well as give grace and allow room for the other to be themselves. It so warms my heart.
God bless.
❤️❤️
I feel the downfall of most relationships is exactly what you have said. One, or both partners want to change the one they supposedly love. I don’t think most are even conscious of the behavior, but you putting this video out there made me reflect on my own past relationships and I’m pretty sure that’s why I am alone. I just could never find an even balance. What a great video you guys!!! Thank you!
As we follow together Messiah our own stubborn hardheaded view gets clear it's not about our own way . Shalom Grafted in fellowship.
Thank you'all for being so open in sharing! This was a blessing, encouragement, and something I needed to be reminded of!
Their tenderness for each other comes across the screen so beautifully, amazing video.
Yes!
Our 51st wedding anniversary is in July God Willing love watching you from South Africa
Well done!!
Elizabeth, I had to giggle when you said, “I blooper all the time.” Cute video!
My favorite thing about your videos is your Christian focus. My second favorite thing is how you two compliment each other so well. Part of that is because you are so different. You all are just a joy to watch ❤
This is one of the best videos I have ever watched. I think it should be a pre-marital requirement for all. 😊
You both are such good and inspirational human beings. Take care. ❤❤
It is allowing each other to fully bloom into the person they were meant to be. Very good discussion. Thank you.
Congratulations we have been married 50 yrs in June. Has been hard times and great times .
Thank you, thank you, love hearing your real life struggles and how you have managed it!!
You two are really something!!!💗
Greetings with much Love from Sweden🇸🇪
And from NZ. Love you guys, you seem just like family.
Elizabeth you are completely right. BE YOURSELF.
Love that you both are putting this information out there!
Great advice! I'm up early and cherish my alone time. I think this is typical of a lot of couples or people who live together. I like both of your video styles.
I WAS TRYING TO DESTROY MY MARRIAGE! THIS VIDEO CAME ON MY PHONE THE SAME MORNING, SO I HEAR YOU BOTH. THANKS
❤️
This year will be 28 years for us and it’s not all been easy.
Thank y’all for those reminders and God Bless!
Elizabeth is completely right!! We, women love videos about flowers, gardens, animals, dishes, and things like that!!👏👍😍🥰
I just love Elizabeth’s videos!❤️
Thanks for inspiring me to just relax and be me ☺️❤️
Elizabeth is glowing these days. She is just so happy!!
Well said.
Oh, the best video ever!
You are amazing Mr.Bill.I tend to “trample” my spouse and feel so bad about it.Trying very hard to be a better person.
We just had our 35th anniversary back in September. My wife is on the "Bill" schedule and I am totally on the "Elizabeth" schedule. Thankfully it has always worked out great for us. God bless you both!
Love you guys! What a great message that all married people need to hear!
You two are both awesome!! I just love watching your journey together! I wish my marriage could have been more like u2! 😊
My husband and I are the same way as you guys are about when you get up, thanks for making this video, love you guys.
loved this video and love your different styles.
Great advice. You both look very relaxed down there in Florida, beautiful shot at the end.
Bill and Elizabeth, good advice!
❤ this! So grateful you're both still learning and growing! Enjoy your personalized spaces!
Enjoying your channel and we will be married 42 years this year!
My wife and I will be married 42 years in November I am up early and my wife is a night person.
