@agadmator Antonio I watch this games at another channel @ChessBaseIndiaChannel and Rapport arrived at the venue 70 seconds after the bell ring. He came, fetched a bottle of water, approached the table, shook hands, sat down, took another sip looking up left to some Tallish spot somewhere, carefully fitted the pieces on the center of the squares and start with Caro Cann. Owner of the channel wanted to interview him after the game and Rapport said 'it wouldn't be fair to Magnus because he didn't play well' ruclips.net/video/kZjogxJlewI/видео.html
Rapport is a chess wizard , complicated the game so much he brought magnus down to seconds while still having over 7 minutes on the clock , this is how u defeat the greats of the game
Was it a "great game"? I don't think so. It was pretty standard from start to finish and turned on a blunder from Magnus. It wasn't exactly Kasparov v Topalov.
5:50 and 6:07 You should have explained why Nxe4 does not work in these positions: after dxe4 the Q cannot take back on e4 because of Qe2++. White now has to play Qg4, but then black plays f5, forcing the Q to h5, but then black has g6, after which white is finished

Rapport's ...f6 reply to Magnus challenging his knight, and him just responding in kind like that was remarkable. Also, Magnus is usually a very good protector of his own King, so its not surprising to see that when he fails to do that he loses in short order like this.

But after the black pawn takes the knight, the queen has to move. Remember the queen is protecting against checkmate (Qe2). So then queen would go to g4,then black plays f5 and now you can lose your queen or get checkmated.
lmfao you gotta be one of the most miserable ppl we got, never noticing how magnus takes his losses against even younger players very Well and even congratulates them, but hey.. we got blind hate these days
At 6:20 isn’t it mate in 2 instead of capturing the pawn after check? Just queen to d8 check rook to d8 followed by the other rook to d8 only move rook to f8 rook d8 to f8 checkmate?
I wonder if Magnus challenges himself... Maybe he decided not to castle the king in that game. I mean, Magnus had the castling privilege earlier. Great moves Rapport! :D This game demonstrates taking advantage of an un-castled king... Rapport may have thought, "Magnus is not castling...? Ok... :D" I remember playing in a Chess club where a player wanted to make "not castling" a thing... I am a chess amateur, and I like your videos. But the recent addition of subtitles right on the face of Chess Board is very frustrating and discouraging. Better would be shift it to the top of bottom of the Board.
Did Magnus really spend 3 minutes to find the only saving move N×e4, then 4 minutes to find the losing Ng5? The clock went from 9 to 6, then 6 to 2. Wow even the world's best get flustered.

Magnus is gonna castle on move 4 from now on
King Safety is basic tutorial to all of us beginners, but it's the GMs will decide or not.
Richard still having 6 minutes at the end shows what a slap in the face this was to Magnus. Excellent domination.
And he showed up late to the game late and drank water with his clock ticking. 😅
Ian’s face when he realized that Rapport was crushing Magnus 😳
I'd also show the exact same expression when Magnus gets crushed like this
@avinashnayak7398 carlsen is human lol. He also gets outclassed from time to time
If only Agad have noticed and even put Nepo's reaction on the video thumbnail and even brought this up as an image or video to show his reaction.
Do you know which move exactly made Ian make that face?
Still my absolute favorite GM to watch. Rapport is a mango protein smoothie in a sea of dry granola.

It’s always a good day when Agadmator uploads a Rapport video. I’m on my way to go tell my friends at the library about this fascinating game
Sorcerer supreme is Richard Rapport
No way you already have a video on this game ! LEGEND.
Rapport will never be the #1 chess player, but nobody comes close when he brings his A game. What a masterpiece
No this is not true.He just plays like Tal.If Magnus played positionally vs him , he wouldnt have a chance.
Rapport has a way of navigating complicated positions naturally, it’s incredible.
wow impressive Richard. Rapport has alot of prime Ivanchuk in him.
Rapport and Dubov idc if they dont win consistently, but the matches they win are so beautiful

It's so good to see Magnus getting crushed, both on tactics and time.
Kudos to Rapport.
Could you shout, please
Magnus can not hear ya from the top
I’d do great to watch a Goat, y’all haters are idiots, we’re getting to watch one of the greatest of all time, yet yall root against him.

I feel like capturing the rook with the knight is at least worth a mention, no? To my eyes that looks very good for white.
But after the black pawn takes the knight, the queen has to move. Remember the queen is protecting against checkmate (Qe2). So then queen would go to g4,then black plays f5 and now you can lose your queen or get checkmated.
@@NadimRifaiTech That's true. That's also exactly why it was worth a mention in the video.
was there a back rank check mate possible you missed? 6:19?
I think you're right. I keep looking at it. What am I missing? It should be Mate in 3
EDIT: oh, wait, I see it. The Rook can block first
Extremely under rated chess players
1) Richard Rapport
2) Daniil Dubov
3) Wesley So
4) Jan Kristoff Duda
5) Sergey Karjakin
6) Jordan Van Forest
Is Karjakin still active?.
Please Agad show other lines at the resignation. Eg Kd1 is checkmate next move, but Re2is more complex as it involves the Bishop to g3+ I believe.
Absolutely love it! A miniature against "the great one" lol
Amazing offensive chess
5:39 it's a little unlucky that NxR doesn't work due to pxN leaving the Queen short of squares.
6:19 I would play Qd8 here and just win lol
Rook back to F8, would defend the mate
black's f4 rook will defend that attack
Dang it this is why I'm only 1500. Blunders and overlooking obvious moves! Thank you for the correction.

I have a chess variant NO ONE has ever tried yet:
TWO moves at a time!
You heard it here first.
Don t want to ruin the mood, but that s a pretty well known idea and the problem with the variant is it s too easy to checkmate
This has been done before unfortunately. Google "Marseillas Chess."

at 5:24 why not Rook take d5 QxR, KtxR?

Caro-Kann, very good opening.
Wonder why Magnus didn't offer a Queen trade at 6:49 by moving the Queen to E2 instead of G2.
I know it was just a quick side variation, but is there not a checkmate with Qd8+ at 6:20 ?
Yeah.
