You have to like Rapport. He hardly ever plays a dull game.
French Defense games are always exciting
He has amazing tactical middle game, but his weakness is endgame
Honestly more inspired with my own playing by Rapport than Magnus. Endgame is Magnus all day but spicy mid game moves for Rapport.
Cant take away anything from one of the GOATs like Magnus, but id say Rapport is a more exciting player!
richard is the only player who not cheat
"Mmmm.... yes, this should be a great thumbnail" Richard, probably
The level that magnus displays sometimes is even hard to belive that it's possible to play this good
After proving that he will win against any player in the world, magnus seems to have switched to proving he can win any position against any player in the world. just insane.
Point being , he is going intentionally into positions that these people have studied to an extreme degree, and beating them at their own game. Commentators mentioned during this match that this specific setup was Rapports speciality.
You’re on to something here. I thought I noticed it too. Just legacy building and competitive bliss for him probably.
sad day for chess
Richard should’ve had it. The way Magnus uses pawns to tilt people is just brilliant. It completely throws people off their game knowing Magnus’ pawns are marching to become promoted.
2:20 "Queen captures on h5"
Ah, yes, capturing an invisible piece xD
Sorry about that.
Carlsen's queen is so powerful it can capture on empty square
Makes sense. Everyone's trying to assassinate the enemy king. maybe someone hired some invisible ninja assassins
agad does that frequently. i think he is getting old
@@Heisenberg-chan.69 he's using all his youtube money to drink more.
Magnus is playing so slowly and so precisely he is choking his opponents out of resources. Its a terrible feeling when you only really made one mistake, and were strangled from that point on
Magnus in the endgame is like facing the Chicago Bulls in the 96 playoffs.
Is that American Football?
@@juangalton999 basketball.
I'm always so impressed by how agad can multi-task so easily while still talking seamlessly
He has been doing this for years now, it comes by the experience.
Really ? Have you not noticed how much he hesitates and stutters throughout his videos ? A perfect example of this can be heard at 13.10 - the constant ughs, ers, ahs etc makes it almost painful to listen to. I'm sure it wasn't always like this. Maybe he's just becoming lazy and sloppy as well as formulaic and repetitive . Pains me to say it as for the last five years he was easily my favourite chess channel .
@@carlorossi6462 with the amount of stuff he's doing at once I'm really not expecting him to get through an entire video without a single filler, especially since that's exactly the kind of raw unfiltered thing that makes him so charming to begin with
Suggestion # Rapport vs Magnus 2nd game Grenke
Magnus is still the WC whether he officially has the title or not
Best comment I've seen this week! I've been saying this ever since Ding won the world title last year. And honestly, I think this is why Ding has been playing so poorly since his WC match with Nepo. He knows that "on paper" he is the WC, but in reality, Magnus Carlsen is still WC: Ding simply doesn't deserve the title. And I believe that this cognitive dissonance inside of him has been eating him up inside, and that is what is causing him to play so poorly. I honestly feel really bad for the guy.
Poor ding forgot that he is wc.
Except he doesn't have the title, so your point is moot.
I think everybody knows that.
@@juangalton999 he might as well have it with how ding's been playing
That was such a risky sorta a game. I had my anxiety up the whole time
I like Richard style to play. His games are never boring!
Magnus sees threats and correctly prepares his moves accordingly.
Had magnus not stepped down, it was impossible for anyone to snatch the title from him, at least for the next two decades.
Thanks!
"May be he get me this into thumbnail" Agad
A lot of people forget that Magnus can literally remember tens of thousands of games. He only ever loses to new/unfamiliar lately.
+@mattpike7268 no he can't lol humans can't remember that much
Magnus is the goat
"You could maybe hold with Perfect Moves but Magnus also plays Perfect moves." Mr. Agadmator
Is that Paul Morphy quote the greatest piece of advice in chess history or am I just a beginner? 🤔
Magnus' mastery makes me happy.
King Richard always fun!
I noticed sometimes the moves of a different game than the one you review in the video is in the description, is it possible to fix that?
I really want to see the last game! And the analysis of it!
Mr.Hoodie Guy has to be the only sponsor to also be a player. Incredible.
Strange that I just got recommended and watched the video where Tal defeated Kasparov a month before his passing
My computer does the same thing. It just commits suicide before the end.
Cool game
Win or Lose Rapport games are always hits.
For this line to work out well for white, that a4 move is crucial.
5:56 why not knight f3 check forking the rook?
This Guy is not human ; no one can play like Magnus…
Rook to G-1 backing up Queen's next move to G-8 forcing a Queen trade after Black's Rook takes Queen, then the G-1 Rook takes the Black Rook, then the White Pawn on H-7 takes the Queen and becomes a Queen. White is up on the exchange and the rest is gravy.
Rapport is a gentleman and an entertainer.
And after this he saves a completely lost position to win the final..he is an endgame monster..
I found the move lol. I knew it was a rook move since it was the only way to make progress
Just we need ..”Hello from the other side” Adele sung..!
rapport definitely my favourite player out of all super GM‘s
i like keymer, gukesh and rapport. nice guys and always nice games. rapport is so creativ
I like keymer and dubov, keymer because he is so similar with Magnus, Dubov because he is so different from Magnus
That's how actual world champ and Goat 🐐plays , not like accidental world champ😂😂
get a life already 1200 bot jesus christ...
Can you shut up? You are not even a player so close it please
The real WC.
In India CNG means = Compressed Natural Gas
6:10 can someone explain why not knight take night here?
take the knight with queen sac, pawn takes, rook take rook, king c7 and then bishop skewers king with queen
@@rafalewandowski7809What about Be8 instead of Kc7? King gets square on d7
@@faznaz7455 take the bishop and engine says +8.7 for white (good position and strong passed pawn)
@@rafalewandowski7809
Ohhh the bishop skewer damn thats the key, how agadmator missed that explaination thats so important, thanks mate
Magnus Carlsen is the boa constrictor of chess.
Richard proved to be the only real Competition Magnus faced in this Tournament No great surprises some Great games Congrats Magnus by now everyone must know he drew his last game vs Rapport sorry if I spoiled next video for you 😅 Onward to Candidates
Seems that rumors of Magnus's demise have been greatly exaggerated.
A comment worthy of being quoted above the chess board. Well done. (slow golf clap)
1m.07 = Q.g4, not Q.g7 (???)
It's amazing how carlsen still keeps winning ,he is relentless 😅
Risky Richie. As always🎉
Antonio, you should have covered the line after Nxf4 what happens if Nxf4!! It was a very interesting line which viewers could have enjoyed.
Qxf4
12:36 bishop on g6 ?
White rook is on g7, that would be a blunder
Saw rapport i press it
Magnus...
Nothing better than listening to Anish Giri hate on Magnus this entire tournament 😂
😂😂😂
Wasn't that an overexcited bishop?
I appreciate Magnus's play, but some of the comments seem so out of context. Calm down people, Rapport is like world number 35 or whatever the actual number is. He is that far back that no one even knows. Its normal for a world number one to beat him. Like Djokovic beating Norrie in tennis.
Only Djokovic wouldn’t be able to beat a good many of the Top 10 at the moment, certainly not the Top 5. Carlsen’s play was nothing spectacular - it was Richard’s game to lose and he made a few very ill-timed blunders.
Why aren't you covering Niemann games?
Richard has had some bad luck in his French against Maggie and MVL recently. Bring in Karpov with his Caro-Kann instead.
The title should be Can Raport Handle the French Defense?
Magnus seems like he could possibly contend for the world championship if he keeps it up!!!!
Didn't Nepo and MVL have this line in their candidates match in 2020?
Magnus is the cristiano Ronaldo of chess
Please change magnus picture
I'm sure Rapport wins occasionally. I just don't remember the last time it happened.
He has been leading the tournament behind Magnus and won against Ding a couple of days ago; what are you talking about?
he won his first game against Magnus on this tournament, but tbh that was an easy win because Magnus just gave up a piece
Suggestion # Hans winning Game Grenke Open that should Vibrate well with everyone
i thought these guys already played their 2 games.
why are they playing again ?
Its the Finals
Change magnus photo
This means you are showing a blunder as thumbnail
I most often do
spoiler...
In the very last game , he decided to prove he could draw a lost position.
when you're a low level like me... you definately prefer tal videos over petrosian... i respect petrosian and positional play... but its lost on me...yawn... i like it when agad says, "now.... look at this.... this is the good stuff..." and its always a shocking sacrifice
Everybody has their own preferences and preferred style. I'm a slower player myself. I like just steadily making progress when I'm in little to no danger. But nothing against attacking games either.
@@anthonyschlott916
for sure... i'll never be good... partially due to impatience.... i like to live or die fast... when you fluke off an 800 tal style victory its pretty fun... and i got nothing against losing.... its the art of the unexplored that draws me... its as of move x ... we have a brand new game... it boggles my mind how early that can happen between 2 super grandmasters
#suggestion How sad. Another April Fool's opportunity lost.
The PGN for this game is incorrect
f
Sometimes these games look rigged
First
Rapport lost the second game when should have won had ample opportunities and for a gm not to be able to convert an easy end game is almost unforgivable,
poor richi...poor keymer ...cant win winning games...yes gm.s can make mistakes. ...its human ...
