I don't understand why this is. Why doesn't the Canon XA-35 have the ability to send the video signal to your computer without having to use the BlackMagic box? Shouldn't it already be built in?
Canon did not add a streaming output to that camera on their end. While on the side of computers they do not have HDMI and SDI inputs. A capture device is required in this case and in many cases required. Some options, like the Panasonic HC-X1500, are starting to be released that have streaming included though! Thanks! -Joey P

Livestreaming with a conferencing software like Zoom is really going to require a strong internet signal. From there Zoom would best work with a capture device connected to a computer. The Elgato HD60 pro has far better software and drivers than Black Magic from my experience. There's lots of reviews for this product too ;) That is an internal pci-e card, not a portable external model.

More than likely you cannot. Canon Point and Shoot Cameras tend not to have a Clean HDMI Output, which is required for live streaming. You could look at using a Canon Camcorder, like the VIXIA HF R82, and connecting that to a capture device like the Magewell HDMI USB Capture Dongle. Hi Dani, That's really going to depend on your application. If you are doing live videos where people might need to be mobile, say on a lecture or a how to, you might want to consider a lavalier mic setup. Now, if what you are shooting is situated in a stationary position, say at a desk where your subjects won't be moving too far from the mic, then a condenser mic setup might be the better pick. Also, each setup will sound a little differently too. So, you might want to take into consideration when picking your setup. Hope that helps! Thanks for the question!

To add slides in to a live stream usually you will need to start with a Production Switcher that allows you to bring in multiple sources for video. My suggestion would be a kit like the Roland Compact Multicamera Production and Streaming Bundle, B&H # ROV1HDSR. This has a 4 HDMI Input production switcher that will allow you to connect a computer to the switcher to bring in slides. Well the MacBook Pro have two graphics cards the integrated one that is on the Intel Core i7 CPU that it uses when your are not doing anything graphics heavy and also a separate Nvidia GPU that kicks in when I game, video edit or anything that would benefit from using it. I still have a MacBook but now I mostly use my desktop PC, but the MAC are conceptually efficient.

Newer Mac Operating systems are not supported by black magic for capture devices. This is really annoying as I have purchased a lot of them. Why won't they update their drivers and support?

I use the Canon xa 25's that you show here, but I always leave the lens hood on. I see in the video it is removed Is there a benefit to using it without the lens hood?

Newer Mac Operating systems are not supported by black magic for capture devices. This is really annoying as I have purchased a lot of them. Why won't they update their drivers and support?

Great video! I've been looking for a video that would explain how to do live videos from a camcorder. A couple of questions, though. One, how does external audio work with this? I've seen a lot of feeds with audio that isn't synced right. Also, how does this system work with Facebook live?
