I think you should stop using the butter bronzer.. I find with a lot of project pans it’s more about getting rid of an item.. but like if you don’t like a product and have used a good amount of it and it just doesn’t make you happy to use it. Just get rid of it. I use to baby products that I liked and tried to use up products I didn’t. But then I thought why.. I should enjoy the process of putting my make up on
Okay YES. Love that thought process. I’ve also recently come to the realization that I should actually regularly use all of my favorite products like my expensive blushes or lip products and stop saving all my nice things for “special occasions” and just use them on a regular basis and make every day a special occasion.
@@RainierCramer yes! I’m a save for special occasion type of person and I just think, what special occasion? Lol! I have been this way for many years. I would buy a lot of MAC back in the day and save it all and now it’s all old and I’m still waiting for the “perfect moment” to wear it all…20 years later 😢
let the butter bronzer go! if you have plenty of bronzers I think you should be proud of your progress and work on a new one!
Ahhh I can’t believe you put the gloss on!! Haha living on the edge indeed. I definitely think you should pitch that product. I totally get your mindset about the butter bronzer, but yeah, you should probably just accept you don’t like it and stop using it.
HAHAHA I know it was gross. Agreed 😌 I probs will!
I love project pan updates, no matter how long is in between them 😊❤️ Also, girl, please get rid of that gloss!! lol
HAHAHA okay okay I will.
Love your project pan videos! Definitely ditch the bronzer and gloss - they smell and no longer spark joy lol. You've reminded me to use my tower 28 cream blush!
love to have you on YT & absolutely love this project pan! but girl, yes throw away the rest of what's in the bronzer & recycle the packaging & throw out the gloss!! if it doesn't bring you joy, i think "hate-panning" isn't the way. sometimes it even affects my relationship with makeup altogether and even, the brand.
I think the Physicians formula bronzer looks good on your skin!
I’m so happy how you mentioned about how long it takes to waste make up. For that reason I am no longer buying make up for this year. It’s to much and is exhausting trying to keep up with the trend.
Exhausting is the perfect word because it truly is so exhausting to keep up with all the trends 😭 they come and go SO fast
Hearts 1025: You might like Hannah Louise Poston's videos, she went on a no-buy year and now she has decluttered, curated her collection and thoroughly enjoying them while still being a beauty youtuber.
Girl, I’ve got MAC lipsticks older than you. I Never toss products. Get rid of that Tower 28 gloss. Please.
Omg hahahaha. Okay you’re right I should get rid of it!! I have so many other glosses to work on too
Hi, about butter bronzer, i will suggest to put some powder first on the cheek then the bronzer will blend much better:)
I love your project pan videos! I’m on a no-buy this year and have already finished up some products. It just solidifies that this no-buy is a good idea for me after seeing how many years it takes to finish up products
Ahh thank you! Omg good job on the no buy! I’ve definitely been trying to buy fewer things this year. But it truly takes so long to finish some products up 😭
I think you got lots of good use from that bronzer! I’d roll it out and pan something else. Life is too short! 😂
Also, you’ve inspired me to pick up my spectral shine highlight again… for some reason, I haven’t been loving it, but I think I’ll try it as a primer!
My tower 28 blushes start smelling at like 6 months okay I’m jealous yours is going strong 😅
Omg 👀 I haven’t tried smelling my blushes yet. Now I’m scared lmao. I bet it smells bet too 😬
@@RainierCramer It's important to note (and verbally inform in your videos) that Tower 28 uses minimal to no preservatives in their products which is why they start to smell bad. There are pros and cons to "clean beauty", how we perceive and define what it is, and the products that are created as a result.
I resonated with a lot you touched on in this video - with tik tok & Instagram I feel pressure to buy all the new shiny releases when they really don’t serve me. I am doing my first project pan & a no buy this year & have unfollowed all beauty brands bc I really want to focus on improving my relationship with spending & appreciating what I have! I know the new trend of “de influencing” is popular now, but it truly just feels like “same same, but different”. Having RUclips channels like yours have honest conversations about scaling back their makeup consumption is much more refreshing in my opinion & I am looking forward to all of your future uploads 💛
Yes yes yes to all of this! At this point, I often think I want to buy new things truly just to be able to say I own them. Even tho I know they’ll end up just sitting in my collection not being used. Or just to be able try them once or something. Ahh it’s such a toxic mind set for me!! The de influencing videos are funny because they just turn around and suggest another product in the same vid 😂
Aww thank you!! 💗 I’m excited too! Even tho I think my next vid might be a haul LOL.
Estefania: You might like Hannah Louise Poston's videos, she went on a no-buy year and now she has decluttered, curated her collection and thoroughly enjoying them while still being a beauty youtuber.
I just finished a glossier concealer a few weeks ago but my glossier skin tint I am also trying to finish seems never ending! They must put some sort of magic in those bottles lol
YES LOL. I swear the level of product I use never changes even tho I feel like I use a ton every time. It’s like it refills 😂
I only use products that enhance my features. If my products make me look worse, then they are not useful to me. I don’t want them in my collection. Bronzer that looks like mud is not my objective. I want my bronzer to look like I’ve come out of the sun, not a mudslide. I would not keep the butter bronzer for that reason. It holds no value.
I need to read this comment every time I declutter because it was inspiring! I really should only keep products that I love and serve me well like you said!!
All right, the Glossier shade question is finally answered!!
You’re so right that it takes forever to finish products. It can get really discouraging at times, when you’re actively trying to pan something but it just takes ages and ages.
I finally finished a nail polish shade that I didn’t love and started panning last year. So glad that it’s out of my collection!!!
Hahaha yes!! Finally!! I totally agree 😭 discouraging is the perfect word for it because it really sometimes feels like you’ll never be able to finish a product up no matter how much you use it. Project panning is definitely like a slow burn kinda thing.
Angela !: It's ok to declutter and re-home products you don't love. *When Decluttering:* Consider the following to reduce one-time use/waste: I donate new and gently used skincare and cosmetic items to a women's victim's shelter and LGBTQ organizations who are thrilled to receive such things as you are decluttering many can be sanitized. Every shelter has different policies, just call to inquire. I feel there are not enough beauty influencers passing products along to those in need or talking about this concept of helping those in your community or donating them to organizations that will. Thousands of people subscribe to Ipsy, BoxyCharm, FabFitFun and end up with unwanted/unused, swatched once products.
Organizations like *Project Beauty Share* will gladly sterilize and donate used cosmetics and skin care to women and families who need help to have been displaced, have escaped violent situations, are experiencing poverty, or other barriers in life that have a direct impact on their well-being, hope, and dignity.
Give them away to friends, family, in order to re-home them to give perfectly usable product a fighting chance before ending up in a landfill. You can give them away via Nextdoor, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, Depop, Glou Beauty, OfferUp, etc, all are perfectly acceptable. People like me would happily come pick them up!
Mascara Wands: *Wands for Wildlife* is in need of used mascara wands help save wild animals. The organization collects, cleans, and distributes the wands to wildlife services in need. The wands are then used for animal care. They remove debris, bugs, and eggs from fur.
Please consider inquiring with your local women's shelters and look up the above, use your voice to spread awareness. At the very least, they can be used as pigments because that's what makeup is: for artists, kids, etc. It's a medium of color to be used, not to end up in a landfill. You could even compost it when removed from the packaging.
Example: Powdered formulas last indefinitely. So long as it doesn't smell and the product is performing, it's good to use. Those dates sometimes relate to break down but more often they relate to getting rid of perfectly usable product so you feel like you need to purchase again. It's how the industry ensures profit. It depends on the product. Use common sense.
There is also a container icon with an M and a number, which means once you open it, the guide is to use the product within for example 12M (12 months). Add a sticker to when you open it. Pencils can be sharpened to unused, clean product, etc.
Pump bottles can be re-used for other things. Stickers can be removed from glass bottles and these containers can be re-used.
If the product is new enough or untouched enough, you can even make money on selling it via Poshmark, Glambot, Ebay, Mercari, Reddit MakeupExchange, YouFromMe, etc. (Content creators are often obligated to not resell however.) Plenty of people are always looking for discontinued and current products.
Lastly: Nordstrom's project "BEAUTYCYCLE" accepts the following:
HAIR CARE: Empty bottles, tubes and caps from shampoo, conditioner and styling products
SKIN CARE: Empty bottles, tubes and dispensers from cleansers, toners and moisturizers
MAKEUP: Empty tubes, tubs, pans, palettes and twist-up containers from all cosmetics
SAMPLES: Trial-size tubes and vials, excluding perfume
It would be wonderful to see a trend of every content creator each making a dedicated video and short to educate the public on these options.
Please spread the word!
@@violetviolet888 thank you for the advice! I have given things away to friends and neighbors. I looked into project beauty share but found that my items didn’t qualify. I’ve definitely adopted the policy of only opening products that I plan to commit to finishing; otherwise, I save them to give away unopened. But that’s a great tip about just using them as art supplies, I never considered that. And good to know that Nordstrom is using a Terracycle program, but unfortunately the closest Nordstrom location to my home (about 30 minutes away) closed down ☹️
Life is too short…toss the butter bronzer!!
You’re so right 😭😭 okay! I’ll toss it!
hi, new subscriber!! just caught up with all your project pans 🙌🏽 thank you for all the edits you do to show progress, for finding your glossier shade, and for the lil things you do to keep us up to date
I'm so happy to see that you are uploading more
Thanks for saying that 😭💗 I’ve missed it here!
Crazy! I was literally just thinking about trying Spectral Shine as a primer when I started watching this video! And I do mean 'literally' literally 😂 I had RUclips on in the background as I was getting ready to do my makeup, and your video started just as I was pondering whether or not to prime with Dew of Dawn. Of course, I had to once I heard you say that, and so far I really like the effect. It adds some blur without mattifying my dry skin. I have almost all of the Spectral Shine shades, and I use them for sooo many different things... highlighter, of course, but also bronzer, blush eye primer, eye shadow, inner corner highlight, and finishing/setting powder. Truly amazing product.
CUTE. I love that. How cute we were able to get ready together 🥹💗 Okay yes! It does have a blurring effect too, you’re so right! I also love using them as bronzer! Meteor mist is my fave as a bronzer shade! I want to get cosmic cinders soon to use as blush!
Yes, use up those products!
😌 hahaha I’m trying!!
My t28 magic gloss also is less than half full but it smells so bad and I finally decided to throw it out today :(
Love how your complexion turned out! Funny, I have been using opal and magic hour as my go to combo lately! So pretty on you!
Omg! I love that! That’s so cute it’s those two specific things too especially since opal is discontinued rip 😭
You must also live in Vancouver if you’re hanging with jason and tom :)
I’ve thought the Tower 28 glosses have always stunk…even when they’re brand new!!
Mine haven’t smelt bad brand new! I actually like the scent brand new but they quickly start to smell like…crayons??? Or something??? What would you say it smells like?
@@RainierCramer …yea, I think so…but rotten chemical crayons! 🤣😂🤣

@@violetviolet888 …but the lip product products I’ve tried smell horrible the minute I purchase them…oh, well, they’re just not for me.
@@carolynmareck5112 Well, if you think that and have purchased five brand new products at different times and opened them immediately upon receiving, then you just don't like the at all. If you purchsed five at the *same* time and opened them immediately upon receiving and they all smell bad, confirm with a ouple of other humans to get their opinion-which if they feel the same way, it might be a bad batch in which case you need to contact the company and inform them. If they've been sitting around or gone off then my above post explains why.
10:39 The beauty industry *relies* on "trends". This is how capitalism works, via marketing, advertising, and influencing consumers to _think_ they need something when they really do not. Trends are the primary method by which companies make a profit and this is not just the beauty industry, it's as simple as that.
It seems like you love your products and do not want to just let go since you don’t toss them but imo out of sight out of mind. Just toss the smelly jelly 😂
@Rainier Cramer I just want to say, I think your pretty and I like your personality (at least what I can see here on youtube.) You just have a realness about you and I am interested in your cute makeup videos. Keep doing what makes you happy. Peace, love, & joy! Sarah Shoxx
