    Frenz!
Crucial Rip's third of that three-way bangs on all cylinders. Everyone was in top form. (I couldn't find the other bands' offerings on their bandcamp pages and stopped looking at that point...)
    Therapy!
NOTE: I'm just a Silly Goose and fan of the pod, so Dennis doesn't know me beyond what comments of mine he's read, our brief exchanges on Instagram, and one small sampling (available on Patreon!) of my musical taste. And I only know him as well as any other rando goose, so any insights or positive affirmations from me have to be read with that coversheet fully in mind...
Two friends mentioned laziness or taking the easy way (regardless of any negative outcome), and I think the reason for Dennis (or anyone) having that character trait is simply that hard work is hard work, and most of the time the bare minimum is all ANYone has the energy for. It sometimes takes a lot to find motivation to do anything, especially when hey, he's in therapy and he's working on his weight, right? When relationships--even good ones--take sometimes unbearable work, it's sooo much nicer to just throw in the towel and read a book with a doggo at his feet. (For me, it's a cat.) So I think it's less about laziness and more about energy and motivation. It's just so hard to DO. And like he said, when no one compliments him on what he DOES do (for them, much less for himself) ... Why bother doing any more? Like sees like here. (Oh, and I wrote that before motivation came up in the discussion...) To compliment him... besides what he already mentioned about his jocular, loyal self, there certainly seem to be missed compliments for his honesty. With everyone, himself included. Love ya, Dennis!
    Homework!
Mouth for War. Bleed Yourself. Damn, this is new? This the best kind of throwback to the best kind of Early Aughts metalcore. To my ears, anyway. Like... Well, Unearth comes to mind. Or the first Demiricous record. Or what Chimera was doing after they came off of that tour with Slayer. But better than all of them... Just moshcall after moshcall. Brutal. As a staunch (99.9%) atheist, the lyrical content of "Talking to God" made me eyeroll, but otherwise no notes.
Kickback. Forever War. The last track is thirty minutes long? This is--Oh, I just rewatched Apocalypse Now Redux again last night, so the opening sample was fun--from the late 90s, so I'm assuming it's mostly silence. I find it hilarious that analog tomfoolery like that got carried over to the digital format. Like... why? But album notes and lyric booklets couldn't? Phooey. A little less metal, a little more core, but not offensively so. Okay wait... Ambient soundscape? Well, who's got egg on HIS face. Oh, but it still goes to silence. And a Taxi Driver sample? All right. Horns up.
Outlaw Order. Dragging Down the Enforcer. Aaaand sludge. Third track opening riff is what first caught my attention here. Oh, this is most of IDespiseAllah. I get it now. Bottoms up, criminals.Necrot. Lifeless Birth. Modern death with grindy bits! (Maybe it's my mood tonight, but) I'm feeling the solos! Throwback album cover! No notes!
Hellburst. Chomolungma. Thrashy deathgroove? Crusty blackpunk? Is he screaming in German? Guy sometimes sounds like a younger Nergal, which I'm not mad at. Love the album cover, too.
Noose Sweat. Murder Suicide. Holy shit, yes. Punkgrind 101 with one one-minute song that shows they've got a smidgen of doom in their DNA, followed by one that has some harsh noise chromosomes as well.
Casiopea. Photographs. Jazz fusion? Okay, THIS I did not expect. Jazz fusion is almost my least favorite iteration of the genre, but I'm just glad to be listening to something like this while doing some Irr&Ill homework. And so far this is pretty tame, as far as the subgenre goes. Fusion can get really annoying, especially when the keys lose their collective mind, as most of them did. Also, my jazz usually has some form of brass in their, either alongside the guitar or instead of. Honestly, that fist song could've gone on a lot longer. Oh, here we go. LOL Keys, keys, keys, and vocals, "bap, ba-yah"s and all. Still, this is a nice change of pace. And I love the guitar tone. Clapton as all hell. This is just fun. Thanks, Tommy.
Logan Guntzelman. Who Got Semen on the Roomba? / Iliza’s Locals Episode 2. 'To the people that "woo"ed, I did not say how old yet...' made snort my water. The period bit was WAY better than the title bit. / I've watched all of the Locals Eps and I didn't give this a thumbs up the first time around, so let's see... Yeah, it's all right, but only just.
