Travis, I bought one of these for Christmas because I wanted that niche gun, something different than my brother in laws have. As far as the gun itself goes, shoots great, low recoil and flat shooting. Problem I have with mine (other people as well) is magazine issues. Once in a while when a round is stripped off, the follower stays stuck down and I can turn the mag upside down and dump 10 rounds out. Next time I load my mag, it can shoot all 22 rounds at once. Can't seem to get to the bottom of it. Has anyone had this issue with theirs? If so, what remedies can I use to solve this issue?
This 5.7 M&P is total 💩! Constant FTF! Mags will NOT lock into the gun fully loaded!!! Must have the slide locked back before you can insert a fresh fully loaded mag and have it locked into place!! Junk, junk, junk!! Also had what appeared to be hard corrosion near the barrel gas port!! Gun cleaner and a brass brush will NOT remove it! Is the barrel actually made of stainless steel as S&W claims! Sent it back to Smith and they did NOT attempt to remove the apparent corrosion or replace it with a new barrel. They did however send 2 “new” magazines which do the very same thing!! I plan on testing the barrel to see if it is really stainless steel. I find it very hard to believe it is. Stainless steel is “austenetic” meaning non-magnetic! 😡
I feel this guys frustration on this this eye appealing 5.7! Smith an wesson has got me to the point that i will not buy another smith an wesson until theu figure out how to plz the people. I spent almost 900 bucks tax an all and i find it pure junk..... js shoots great no doubt but, thay magazine issue has me heated! Also! The smith and wesson AR 22 magazine suck!!!!!!!!! They warp and do not load to the max it says because the damn magazine will still flare in the center and cause major jams:(
Been running the original FN FiveEven for years and it’s a great little weapon, low recoil, fast round, flat trajectory… sweet little round to add to your kit.
- Ruger LC Carbine - I’ve had an interest in a PCC for quite some time but took into consideration some of the controversy around how the pistol caliber ammunition does not typically perform any better out of a longer barrel like a carbine. The 5.7 seems to be a bit unique in that regard where the round gains a few hundred FPS out of something like a P(S)90. After doing research on the LC Carbine I was impressed. Now I have taken it to the range several times and have enjoyed the experience: almost no recoil, very fast round, travels very flat. And Ruger designed the LC Carbine around the Ruger 5.7 so the mags are interchangeable. And lastly, the compact size the LC Carbine makes it a win in my book; very lightweight and portable.
First I've ever heard of the 5.7, thanks for the introduction. The low recoil makes it look fun to shoot. Would love to see a video of your thoughts on concealed carry with an RDS. By the way, did you ever figure out a way to get your dog into the overhead tent?
i see a lot of people complaining about mag issues , not feeding and maybe a jam . but i’ve yet to have any of those issues . i’ve only used the blue tip FN ammo , nothing else and no issues at all . i’ve been CC it for about a year now 😂 and i actually love it

I love EVERYTHING about it!!!! Now if only they'd make one without a "dainty lady grip size" grip Hahaha hopefully that made sense Lol I'm not a giant guy, bigger than average I guess but still, I can't get a full grip on this to save my life!!! There's ALWAYS a small gap under the trigger guard down to the magwell with my hands. So much so I went with the 22 MAG instead, loved that too until I had a round explode out of battery 🤷♂I'll be selling and looking for a PSA Rock next Lol P.S. I can get a full grip on the 22 MAG, it's NOT the same lower as some have mentioned.
Why the hate for speedoaders ? Make reloads easier and quicker at the range, which means more time shooting and less time loading mags. I'm all in on speed loaders.
I have owned and CCd my S&W 5.7 since February of 2023. Mightve been one of the first people to buy it lol. But with Fiocchi range packs, and Daily deals on Speer HP 5.7 at PSA. I've ran anywhere from 1200-1500 rounds through it. Hands down has been my favorite pistol, it is a little big but its a different fullsize feeling since its thinner. I've ran every 5.7 ammo on the market through it and its had 1 issue, that could've been FN gunr ammo problem on that. Also, Muddy River Tactical makes awesome holsters for it. I have 1 OWB and 1 IWB from them, very affordable too.
I’ve owned mine for 6 months and only bought it to put into my collection. Love the way is shoots but definitely not my go to for range practice due to the cost of ammo
Aliengear makes 5.7 holsters. They make one specifically for the FNH 5.7 and the grip tuck universal holster has an extra full size (5.25" max barrel length) option which should suit any 5.7 pistol. They make mag carrier for 5.7 as well.
Detroit Holsters makes several holsters for the S&W 5.7 and gives you a myriad of choices for lights and lasers. I have their Metro holster for the S&W 5.7 and the fit is perfect.
Amazon, you can get magazine holsters and holsters for the 57 special lesson. The universal ones work in the holster is a magazine holster. It works with those magazines.
Muddy River Tactical makes a holster for this pistol. I have bought several of their holsters. You won't be disappointed.

Opened my mags, polished and cleaned up with flitz and steel wool. No issues now

I bought my holster from Nerd holsters. Mine is light bearing too. Also running a Holosun EPS carry optic on it. Favorite gun I’ve shot for sure.

the cool thing is the fmjs are down to 40 cents and the ballistics don't zip through gel like 9mm. They dump all their energy in the first 14 inches

22 plinkster on the tube did a test many years ago with bullet proof glass. Ballistic tip did not penetrate but the standard tip did.
