Hello you 2 ! Having been a havid follower of narrow boats I have no idea how I missed you. I now only tend to follow James ( Slow Patrol) who you may have watched. He is on his second "build" now. I cannot add much about you that has been said by others but for sure you are on my watch list from now on. I am not sure if your dog is a full breed or crossed with maybe a terrier. She is delightful. My wife and I recently gave a home to a dull breed deer head and they do look similar. They are lovely members of one's life for sure and we love her deeply.
Hi one person said they are water pump pliers but I have always called it a multi tool because you can adjust it for different diameters and you can use it on multiple jobs that you are working on stay safe and happy boating cheers Barry from Victoria Australia 🇦🇺
We subscribed straight away when Joe mentioned you. Another brilliant video. We are ex Nb share owners but the plan is to buy and live aboard in the not too distant future. Keep on with the brilliant videos. You’re a great orator 😊
Hello Charlie, lovely to see you again, to answer both your questions. An adjustable spanner or adjustable wrench - sometimes also called a 'crescent wrench' is an open-end wrench with one fixed jaw and another movable jaw. Exhaust paste expands as it gets hot and dries out, thus guaranteeing no leaks even if the pipes are a poor fit. Hope that helps. Bet you were pleased to get a shower after all that.Big kisses to Basil.
Great job will done. But as your Exhaust is so Close to your fuel tank. I would put some fire retardant material on top of your fuel tank to be on the safe side.😊
That’s a really good idea. it’s always been really close to the fuel tank and it’s always been a bit of a concern of mine but I think you’re right. I’ll find something proof to put in between it. !!!!! Your a Genius
They're water pump pliers, I worked and managed plumbers merchants for nearly 20 years and have sold shed loads of them. Well done, good job for someone learning as they go. Most people don't like getting mucky even though the job is within their capabilities that's a big reason why they take it to the pros, oh and no money as well 😁. Thanks for the vid
Are got you that makes sense that there waterpipe pliers. They are massive haha I absolutely love doing the work myself to be honest. But I’ve only just learnt that I like doing it. Mostly form not having enough to spend on pros. But the more I do the more I learn and I can’t see my self not being on a boat for the rest of my life and I’m sure I’m gonna run into these problems again haha Yeah, the engine bay is so mucky. I cannot wait to get it all cleaned up. Big love for the support!! if I have any plumbing questions I’ll fire them your way !!!!!!!
Great job, exhaust paste seals and lubricates the fitting, same as red oxide protects the hole you cut out from rust..Don’t replace your hole set, good for another few years, quality kit!!
The advice is to “spread the paste liberally to all joints in the system and assemble joint immediately after application. Run the engine at low speed until warm and the paste will set to form a gas tight seal”
What a waste of time refitting a completely useless silencer when you had the opportunity to fit a decent hospital grade silencer then have a real quiet boat
There’s something rather lovely about your gentle ramblings 😊
Haha it’s definitely a sign of me going crazy

Hey, thank you so much. Is this the Barry and Victoria but I know from Australia? Or is this a different Barry and Victoria?

Fantastic looking forward to you getting back on the canal. Any idea of what boat you’re looking for?
@@charlieandbasil 58ft reverse layout, cruiser stern with bow thrusters.
Not that we’re picky 😆
You’re definitely find a decent one there’s so many on the market. My tip is to wait until winter. They go for a lot less.

It's such a tight one
It always is

Oh thank you so much !!!
Crescent wrench has a screw on it to open/close the jaws
We always called them grips. Nice to watch you fit the exhaust. Where did you manage to buy it?
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks a lot for your support
I just love your channel! You and Basil are great!!
Thank you so much !!!!!!

Nice one. So much better audio level this time
Thank you, I started using premier pro instead of iMovie a lot easier to adjust the sound

Yeah, the hole saws seem to be okay. They seem to die quickly if I’m using them on MDF though.
@@charlieandbasil The fibres clog up the blades which is why it seems to go dull. Use slow speed cleaning the blade every once now and then. 👍🏼
Informative piece, Charlie and Basil will be safe from exhaust fumes now great.
Yeah , I can’t wait to not have perfumes coming to the Boat !
@@charlieandbasil yep interesting how they put exhaust above fuel tank?
Ahh she purrs like a kitten now - well done Charlie! 👏🏻👏🏻🥰
It’s amazing it’s so much quieter
Absolute beast! Class video.
Thank you !!!
Really enjoyed the vid ... keep on talking to yourself!!
Always !
hi, I know them as Parrot nose Pliers. always had a pair in my toolbox as they can get in some awkward places.
They are the best
Here in the USA, we call them Channel Locks
Thanks for showing us how to do that. It was really interesting.
Thanks a lot I’m absolutely no expert, but I did enjoy doing it.
The tool is called multi grips and the tube is to seal the threds
Amazing, thank you
Good work ! Dirty stuff ! But you did it like a champ!
I was so happy with the end result, thank you
Can we see Babz again one day? love the channel and Bazza
Oh, don’t worry she will be back. She just doesn’t like to get too dirty. That’s why she wasn’t helping me do the exhaust. :( she’s quite lazy hahah
😂😂 can’t wait for the next video

Oh okay that’s fantastic. Well, that’s basically what I did I think. Thanks
Enjoyed the video but where's Basil? Is she ok?
Basil is absolutely fine just not much help when changing exhaust systems haha
Typical old mans typo. I meant full breed not dull. A Chi can never be dull.🎉
It happens to all of us
Stilsons ? A pair of stilsons (like a pair of scissors) Basil fpr President , Charlie is ok too
Yep
Hope you enjoyed the Roast Dinner ❤
Very very much so !!!!
ummm wheres BASIL?!?!?!?!?
She will be back in the next video don’t worry
What a waste of time refitting a completely useless silencer when you had the opportunity to fit a decent hospital grade silencer then have a real quiet boat
I didn’t have a spare extra 500 quid to do that, unfortunately, but I did look into them
I have to say, though the silence is fantastic
