I would just want a tonearm to install ortofons for mixing.I know it's a portablist. But u can blend songs And have the best sound quality
Gotcha
@@ClevelandTerry hey my good man.Bihari tone arms are the way to go.we cannot get shure 44-7 for this portsble.I have 6 vnls that I bough.and they work. But the millivolt is lower than 44-7
I’m sure there would be a custom replacement
@@ClevelandTerry great video
Been a fan of your teaching for about 4 years and never a dull moment. Learned a lot from your brand Thanksss B1
Appreciate the work you put in man! 🙏🏽🔥
Great video Terry. I'm definitely going to pick this up to replace my modden PT-01 Scratch. Thanks for the review fam!
Preciate the the thorough breakdown Cleveland
whoooooahhh Stanton is still alive!!!! Haven’t seen any gear from them in a long time! … long live final scratch and focus fader!
I got the pt01 scratch but don’t like the fader switch… might grab this Stanton now!
thanks for the great review!
Totally agree!!! Records should be included to all brand new turntables 😀
Great video.. How is the torque compared to the others , i.e., Omni and relooo...who has the best toque, of the portables out there?
another reason for ultra pitch is it gives you more space for complex scratches - especially phrasing. Battle records will produce their records pitched up so that it sounds normal when you pitch it down to like -30 or 40%. The slower record movement gives you more time and space to work out certain scratches without it sounding pitched way down.
important information
@CT , thank you for the video , definitely gonna get it …
Awesome video! Question do you need the batteries in to used? Can I just run the USB C for power? Thank you for advance
The future of portables looking great bruh 🙂🤙🏻👍🏻
Portable table.. EXCITING !!!! DJ MARK the 45 King called and wants to try the Stanton !!! SO DO I !!! $250 that's cheaper than the 'cult classic' Columbia which is not even worth $100 IMO. I'm surprised such a cheap needle works with Serato though. COOL thanks for the review.
its quite versatile .As for the cutting fader i think modders will be on to that. These decks are not my thing as most have belt drives and i am not much of a scratcher though the price is good and it looks great
you are very detailed..thx!!!
Debating on this or the nu mark mt01 scratch . I’ve been emulating turntable scratching on NI Maschine mk3 for my music , but heard the real thing and now I can’t unhear the difference haha .
This is the best review that I've found, it should've popped up 1st
2 more questions about the Stanton specifically: 1. Will a 10 (or 12) inch vinyl fit on this? 2. If you cut the fader all the way to the “record” side, does the “beat” sound cut out? Other portables don’t do this, and it would be great if it did!
It seems a well thought out piece of kit, but it would be nice if there was a higher quality version with a better motor and tonearm. I know you can mod these things, but it would be cool if they offered a premium version that didn't require that.
Hi Terry! Another great video! I’ve been looking for a solution where I could scratch Serato wirelessly using Phase and a portable turntable, using the onboard fader to cut. Any idea of how to make this happen with this new Stanton or other portable?
Can't be done, some sort of hardware needs to be connected to enable serato. You may have more look with algoriddim
This is a must to get for a mobile vinyl set up
thats what im thinking, hahaha
i want two..
Does the vinyl audio from the STX filter out the lower frequencies? I wanted to sample 7” & 45s with my STX but noticed that the low end is missing from the line out, headphones, and the external speaker as compared to my other standard turntables or the Bluetooth connection using the same songs.
Great review but you forgot to mention the omni portable scratch table.
Great review Terry! This was originally PT01 Scratch 2 but now Stanton. Either way I’m glad InMusic finally dropped this as I seen this many years ago. Might only gripe with the launch thus far out the gate, where’s the Scratch community influence? There are dancing DJs with gear that is promoted, but where’s my scratch DJs at?
@@Blackbird_80 Music producer here. I just wanna add some scratches to my music. $250 is an awesome price point at which to do that (assuming you don't already have a mixer/fader). I have no need for 2 tables or to spin 12". I currently own an Omni 7" table but if this thing handles DVS I could have saved about $150.
@@Blackbird_80 Great question my friend. Scratch DJs will ultimately use Technics and pro mixer. I’m assuming you’ve haven’t used a PT01 Scratch, however if you get the chance you will understand why this is a great portable version of turntables. Hence why I’m not happy they rolled this out with out the visual demonstration of Real scratch DJs using its. It’s in DMC competitions and accepted globally by your favorite top scratch DJs
Swiftstyle is one of the most technical scratch DJs out there and was on the beta team. He gave it his seal of approval so there's your scratch community influence 😉
@@Blackbird_80 portablism has been a huge trend for the better part of a decade now. Tons of scratch DJs use players like these.
Looks nice 👌
I remember using Stanton carts back in the day. Does anyone know how much the replacement carts are?
Where do I bet replacement stylus and what type are they 🙏
Cuts sounding kinda crispy!
Wow! Jesse Dean when are you coming with a Tonearm for this?
I just got mine. Did you charge the battery prior to using? Also, does it need to be turned on to accept the charge?
Here we go
Looks pretty good. Well built. Do you have the HEADACHESOUNDS Portable. I have the pt01scratch and the headachesounds portable.
I think the Omni is still ahead. No mods required. Even the tonearm is sorted. Cheers
How is the needle? Will it eat my vinyl records? The USB port? Is that just for record the vinyl and scratch's? Thank you in adavcen
Whats the belt drive platter like Terry?!
I love my new unit wish it had a way to let you know batteries are low and to let you know when it’s fully charged
The light below the pitch will change to red if it needs to be charged.
Nice! This is so close to being the first portable turntable that's normal DJ gig worthy. The only thing missing is a way to cue without adding a mixer. Practicing your cuts on the go is cool, but imagine rolling up to a small gig with 2 of these. You could probably fit the turntables, a box of 45s, and a small speaker in a single duffle bag. .
Bro I had the same thought. Two of these and a Numark Scratch mixer in my backpack. Ready for a full vinyl set or Serato
Headache sounds Omni did it first
@@tfk8791 Nah, the Omni doesn’t have curve adjustment (for smooth fades) or 8% pitch fader like the STX. That means it’s fine for practicing cuts but I wouldn’t want to do an actual gig with 2 Omnis.
Could use a phase and internal mode on one side and be super compact
@@OT83 s5 at the very least brotha
I've heard about the fluttering of audio playback while using the slowest levels of ultra pitch and I got one with the same problem. Is there any remedy for this? Would a firmware update help this??.. i think not. Any ideas? It's the only problem with this otherwise great table, imo. Seriously, amy answers?
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Can you play 12” records on it as well?
Needle in the groove!
fresh!
Review vs the omni if you could get to it
This is the only video I've seen of someone using DVS with this unit. And I don't see any mention of DVS on any product descriptions. Can I use DVS just by connecting the unit to a phone/tablet?
I didn’t try it with djay but I don’t see why not.
@@ClevelandTerry If you feel inspired to do so, a video re: STX and DVS would be super helpful (and would prolly do good views). There's literally NOTHING on the internet about whether or not you can use DJAY etc. with it. Not on any forums etc. (I assume that it doesn't or Stanton would have mentioned it.) A DVS compatible table for $250 would be insane.
That’s dope. I feel like the play button is in a bad spot but maybe not.
Because of the location of the crossfader you never really come close to it.
They only messed up with that short short pitch, a pitch should be atleast 10cm long always
Want it
Can you do Bluetooth out to headphones or headphones have to be connected in?
No. The delay would be too great.
Can I use my jd tone arm from my pto-1 for this
yes it should work
You are one of the best music professionals I have so far come across. How can I get in touch with you on something that I want to share privately with you? I spent several years in the music business under the moniker, Mervyn "Funkmaster" Jordan. I am now 67 years old. You can Google to see some of my credits. Respect.
I love my Stanton but I have one issue with it. When I cut the sound with the fader, I can still here faint noise coming through the speaker. I also can hear it when I plug in my headphones. Should I be concerned about this and return it for a new one? Is this normal?
It’s sounds like you’re hearing the record. Nothing you can do about that. The needle audio will always play a little. Nature of records.
@@ClevelandTerry awww ok thanks for the help
Great review bro.
? Has auxiliary inputs.
I would consider buying.
Unfortunately those 7inch vinyl records are so dam expensive.
$24.99 + shipping.
Ridiculous prices. 🥴
Stanton waited to long to come out with this new scratch turntable.
7 inch scratch records are very hard to obtain not much out there.
They needed to first solve the shortage of 7 inch scratch vinyls & expensive as heck pricing.
The high prices of 7 inch vinyls will hurt the sales of these portable turntables for sure.
Dam shame cuz I would of bought it.
Nice review as always. 👍
Thank you. God bless 🙏
Nice, but impatiently waiting for the Rane Four review. 👀
Can that play12” ? Or do the knobs get in the way??
This is what I am wondering
Only 7inch
@@ClevelandTerry oh wow thats a deal breaker 🤦♀️ was considering sellin my pt01 scratch for this but mightest well just keep it…gotta be able to play my 12inch records
Still hellbent on getting an Omni tbh
Wow
Rechargeable and "Replacable" batteries? Nice.
What about the OMNI?
What makes the OMNI tough to review is probably the fact that its rarely available to buy for the average consumer
How does a full LP fit on it?
I posted an update video to this. Check it out
@@ClevelandTerry Hi Terry, got it.
Thank you so much! Have a great weekend!
Blessings
I'm not really sure how Stanton & STX fits into InMusic's business model. Each of their brands caters to a specific niche within the DJ multiverse. Denon for the pro-sumer, Numark for entry/intermediate level...dare I say bedroom DJ. Rane for open format and turntablists. Where does Stanton fit into all that?
Is it motor or belt driven?
belt drive
@@CJScratch Thanks, I kinda figured. It would be dope if they make one that’s a brushless motor.
Amazon link didn’t work. Trying to get you a buck.
😵😵😵😵😵
Now I can’t sleep. I need one of those
You pay 100 just for inno
so this supports DVS?
Is this a trick question? 😀
Also watch my follow up video on it.
It's the 75th anniversary of long play vinyl & the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop. Yet dj's in the you tube era are still scratching Fab five freddy - aaah & fresh on every other video with all the tools and infinite sounds at there disposal.
.
I'm not supposed to view a video with the sound turned off because I know what your going to do.
.
Make some effort when you create your content & stop & devolving the artform & culture!.
toy...
A fun one
In the eye of the beholder 🤷🏾♂️
No way, controller is better. Nice try Stanton. 🤣
???
two completely different applications
Seems like a product endorsement. Nothing honest here.
Seems like you don’t know my channel. I don’t sell products, I give an honest opinion…every time. If it were bad, I’d tell you.
Thanks for the reply.... NOT 🖕
Not sure what you’re talking about but being disrespectful won’t help your cause.
💩 eat it
Simi Valley Terry?
