What if I dumbass chose to let distrokid upload my music on youtube before and then make another music youtube channel now?

Hi, when it comes to RUclips official artist channel, Distrokid doesn't show me the "Select artist" menu below the "learn about youtube official artist channels". I already released a single with distrokid and I already have a RUclips channel where I have some content too. Why doesn't Distrokid show me that?

I claimed or sent a request and put my actual channel which I made myself and not the artist channel that they uploaded my song on which had Topic after the name have I done the wrong thing was I meant to try and to that channel or have I done the right thing that I made a request to claim my actual channel meaning from now on it will post my music on there maybe? no - you have to already have manually created a yt music channel, then you merge them

do you have to upload 3 tracks to the youtube channel *before* doing this process? distrokid automatically uploaded my previous releases to a topic channel
No. You need to have at least 3 tracks released with DistroKid. Once you have the third one release then you'll see that drill-down option and then you link your RUclips channel with DistroKid and then you check your RUclips channel and right close to your RUclips channel name you'll see a icon and if you put your cursor on it it will say "Verified Artist Channel". Apart from that, of course, your RUclips Channel must have some videos available otherwise it does not make sense to verify an RUclips Channel without any content on it. Cheers & Best Regards.

had to change my name because RUclips doesn't allow special characters, just a heads up if you have special characters in your name on distrokid you have to change your name on RUclips before being able to have an official artist account.
I had one. I took it out but it still says the name doesn't match... But it does match!! Kind of stuck here now... Any suggestions? A hug!

Unfortunately no :/ you have to go through a distributor, so you might have to ask DistroKid

So once you have absorbed the Topic Channel auto-generated videos into your own now-upgraded Official Artist Channel, can you finally edit the videos that come from the Topic Channel? Can you control if they run ads and who collects revenue?
Unfortunately no - you can only see the analytics minus revenue, you can't edit anything
