Some great ideas in this video. I love the idea of bundling the items. In the beginning I was wondering how you could possibly minimise any further as you are already so much more minimal that I could imagine being. Hearing your reasons helped me to understand and I have noted that strategy down for future reference although my goals and minimalist ideal is different from yours. Another thing I love about your approach is that you remove things in such a thoughtful way that minimises waste. Well done.
I’m a plant lover with a green thumb, and Golden Pothos and spider plants were one of my favorites. The downside of this is that I could never throw out the cuttings and just kept making more babies. At one point I had over 90 houseplants (other varieties too) and my home was a small jungle. 😂 This is even with me selling many of the cuttings that I potted up every year. Over the many years of doing this I finally realized I didn’t want anymore plants that created more babies because I couldn’t throw the cuttings in the trash. At this very moment I have exactly one ☝️ houseplant (a ZZ plant). It’s been so freeing. At some point I will have a few more plants, but as I am wanting to relocate I’m putting off the urge to acquire a few plants. Now if I could only get my love of candles and my candle holder collection under control. 🤦🏼♀️🤣
😂 I totally know what you mean 😂 🪴 I’ve recently managed to limit myself to one candle per room 😂 my green Buddha in the living room, my grey Buddha in the bedroom. Then my amethyst one is technically supposed to live in the bathroom 🛁 🕯️ but kind of has its own life of flitting between all the rooms 😂 💚
@@SagelifeMinimalism Oh if I could only say I have three candle holders. 😉 In this particular case I am not a minimalist. Kitchen… yes. Shoes… yes. Clothing… getting there. Wall decor… yes. Etc. It’s all a work in progress I guess.
@Amyavalon1844 absolutely 😊 and if we have areas of interest where we want more, there’s nothing to say we really have to downsize that area if we don’t want to is there?😂 I just have less surfaces to put my candles and plants on now I’ve got rid of them 😂 so it’s kind of made the decision for me 😂 🪴 🕯️ I know many minimalists have nothing at all but I think we’ve said this before… I don’t even see plants and candles as decor I think plants are good for air quality and candles are practical for aroma and light therapy if they’re non toxic variety - so I think they’re actually good as a mood booster - physical and mental health 😊
@@SagelifeMinimalism True 🌈 Yeah I feel the same about plants and candles. Regular knickknacks I don’t care for… they seem like clutter to me. I even keep my holiday decor to a minimum. The idea of storing things for 7/8 of the year for Christmas or fall just doesn’t work for me. I prefer real pumpkins and gourds that I can give back to nature at the end of the season.
