Nice video about beta oxidation of fatty acids . Understanding Biochemistry is extremely important for all doctors including gynaecologists. Without understanding the steroid pathway we can't understand the pathophyiology of Disorders of Sex Development . I would like to add few things more here about beta Oxidation . Beta oxidation takes place in four steps: dehydrogenation, hydration, oxidation and thyolisis. Each step is catalyzed by a distinct enzyme. It is the catabolic process by which fatty acid molecules are broken down.
It does have mitochondria, several mitochondria per neuron as a matter of fact, when mitochondria use ketone bodies as fuel instead of glucose, they multiply, causing neoneurogenesis, which is the production of new nerve cells
Neuron's do indeed have mitochondria. Aside from glucose they can use ketones (ketone bodies) which are produced in the body where there is a lack of glucose. In theory they could use FFAs but they do not cross the blood-brain barrier very easily as they are normally bound to plasma proteins.
Sir A. Why hypoglycemia in fatty acid oxidation defect B. why it is called non ketotic hypoglycemia ? C Why fatty acids are activated with ATP ? Can't they go directly to mitochondrial matrix ?

Great explanation🤟👍❤️
Glad it was helpful!
dammm good sir thank you i love your videos
🤝🤝🤝
Very nice😍
Thank you so much 🔝💯
Hello, can someone explain what is the difference between coA, ScoA and coASH? Great animation btw
When the acyl is attached that is coA and not attached means coASH. If sulphur is attached to it that is ScoA.
Molecular diagram of individual molecule would be highly helpful
thankyoooouuuu..... so much sir
thankyoooouuuu..... so much
Thanks maim please give us same videos
Best
Thank u very much
Brain cell doesn't have mitochondria.. So where is beta oxidation occur?
Actually brain cells have mitochondria .

A. Why hypoglycemia in fatty acid oxidation defect
B. why it is called non ketotic hypoglycemia ?
C Why fatty acids are activated with ATP ? Can't they go directly to mitochondrial matrix ?
Does mitochondria is present in Brain ?
When cells are present in brain then mitochondria also present
I want alpha and Omega oxidation animated video please give to mez😇😇😇
ok
💕💕
Can you explain in Hindi
Plz in hindi
