The fact that you look absolutely super fine and elegant is a testament to how much you take care of yourself. It definitely helps that you have a positive personality and soft aura. Many could learn from you!
I am also 57 and after years of buying expensive skin products, my dermatologist told me to only use CeraVe day and night moisturizing creams. They are a fraction of the price (at least, where I live) and coupled with Revlon revitalift by night and Simple 10% vitamins C E F by day and am really seeing a difference
Yes my daughter was told that when she had acne and I’ve tried both products but it’s just not enough moisture for me. I used to use Olay regenerate night cream, that was a good moisture level. But now my dermatologist says to keep doing whatever I’m doing because my skin looks great😉. I missed my annual skin check up, I need to find a new dermatologist in Tennessee
I have started using CeraVe also instead of a very expensive night moisture. On nights that I feel a little dry I add a little Moroccan oil. Saving money and my skin is looking good.
P.S. My 78 y/o skin has been changed dramatically by using Kreyol Haitian Black Castor Oil daily. Don't even need to wear foundation and/or concealer anymore. 😊
Thank you for always keeping it real for women our age! I get so frustrated when looking at women on RUclips who have had botox and fillers and use filters but claim a cream fixed all their issues. Thank you for your honesty I truly appreciate it! You look amazing.❤
AMEN on the exfoliator. For older ladies (I'm 78) best I found is Peaches Skincare Flawless Exfoliator which is completely natural and vegan and can be used daily since it has zero chemicals. It's made with blueberries, pomegranite, coffee beans, vit c, and more. Quick and easy. Completely changed my sun-damaged neck/chest/decolletage! Perfection. Tell your daughter to try bee venom on pk. Also works on skin tags almost immediately. 😊
I started using organic castor oil from Whole Foods instead of lotion on my body & have noticed a significant difference in how hydrated it remains long after application. With daily use, the skin bumps and dry flakes are completely gone & I'm minimizing exposure to unnecessary chemicals.
Glycolic acid has really helped my skin. I turn 57 in May and have really only been on my skincare journey for under two years. Your skin looks very good🖤
Horrors!! In my 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s I used whatever soap I had in the shower on my face, then I used rubbing alcohol, followed by Clearasil, then makeup. I used retin-A or Differin till my insurance stopped covering those. I did use a Clarisonic with Philosophy face cleanser. I did not moisturize until I was 58-59. I started using it when my Allure box came with Egg Mellow cream and I was really curious about and loved it!! But it was too much during the summer and I searched for one that was more appropriate. Around 60 I got into skincare and do a full face of it everyday. So I had acne for 40 years and now at 63 I have makeup optional skin!! Very lucky with how I started out! lol!!
It’s funny that we are so meticulous about skin now, and so are my daughters in the early 20s but like you, I certainly abused my skin until my late 40s/early 50s
I can relate. I had moderate acne for years. In high school, I used to separate a 2ply tissue, soak each half in rubbing alcohol and lay one sheet on each side of my face. Then peel it off after it dried out. Yes, it resulted in a double problem- skin produced excessive oil, giant pores, with more breakouts plus I had flakey skin on the surface. Thankfully I stopped and kept educating myself on skin care. The improved direction of consistent routines resulted in very good skin at 65. I am often surprised I didn’t cause irreversible damage. Crazy!
Great video! I am excited to order the DRMTLGY color correction with SPF. I appreciate that your videos aren’t sponsored… I feel affiliate links are great and deserved- but sponsorship can blur the lines. You always keep it real and as a longer time viewer- I appreciate that!
I'm 18 years older than you Lisa and only began using serums and devices 4 years ago but even at my age it's made a difference, however I've always cleaned my make up off at night and applied Nivea since a teenager so that may have helped?
thanks for all the good info=I am like you as never had a manicure, pedicure, only go to salon when need a hair cut = thank you -you look great as usual
Thank you so much Lisa. Nice to hear different information on skincare. Been in a beauty adviser & outside sales territory rep for many years. Still learn new information everyday. Great information really enjoyed your video today!⭐️🦋😊
I really swear by Paula's Choice BHA lotion which is salicylic acid based. It's gentle but very effective. I use that a couple of times a week, and The Ordinary lactic acid occasionally too. And tretinoin 4-5 nights a week. Everything is so individual though. I can tolerate ascorbic acid in a serum but I can't tolerate niacinamide. I turn bright red and burn like crazy until I wash it off. 😂
You inspire and encourage me❤. I am trying to figure out my wellness and keep my skincare easy routine. Big bear hugs , hope all is qell. Your hair looks beautiful as always
I'm in the UK so not sure if you have Aldi stores in the US, but I use their Lacura cleansing gel and face creams that only cost £2-£3 for 50 ml jars. I also use their lotions and rose oil which is GORGEOUS.
We do have Aldi! They are fairly new, so I actually haven't really shopped there but there is one near my home. I'll have to see if they carry that brand!
Thank you Lisa, you look amazing! I have very sensitive skin and use the La Roche Posay cleansers morning and night. They don't irritate my skin. Would love to try vit c creams but concerned about how sensitve my skin would be. Tretinoin/retinol is a no go for me too. Your tips are great.....thanks lovely lass. 😊❤
One of my most favorite drugstore finds is Neutrogena cleansing balm. Great stuff. Works better than DHC, Tatcha and Clinique's cleansing balms. Drunk Elephant's products are a hit and miss. I'm finding many influencers are pushing DRMTLGY, Colleen Rothschild and infrared devices, I'm losing interest in watching skincare videos.
Yes, there are a lot of us...you forgot to add City Beauty to the mix, lol. BUT, as a VERY SMALL influencer, DRMTGLY sent me free products with no request for video or anything, and I ended up LOVING them. I do try other products, but really, now drugstore is the same as some of the online products when you can get on sale, and so why change up what works! Colleen Rothschild doesn't send me anything (darn), but I was influenced before I knew what influencers were 🤪. I actually keep recommending the same products in every skincare video because it's what I use regularly, and I only like to talk about what I know.
My night cream is good old Nivea Cream (under $10) with 2 drops of jojoba oil. When I first wake up, I look 10 years younger. I'm going to be 65 in two weeks. 😊
Hi Lisa, as I was watching, I was wondering what the heck I'm doing wrong. I'm 57, and for the past two days, my skin is red and inflamed. I haven't changed my skin routines at all, but noticed my skin becoming more sensitive. I was using Tretoin . 05 for over a year and had no problems. We boosted to the .1 and the first year was good. I got to the point of using it every day. About two months ago, I started to get irritated so dropped back to every second night and changed to a thicker better moisturizer. Now my skin looks burn't. All this to say, our skin can change from day to day. We might have to change our routines more often than we think.
Lisa can you mention what cleansers do you use at night? Great information thanks 😊. With the luminous eye corrector, would you use eye cream first and then apply this?
Yes to eye cream first, since it's a sunscreen, it should go on top of moisturizers in general. I am using the Colleen Rothschild Cleansing balm this winter, it gets off all the makeup and leaves my skin soft :D

My dermatologist said just about the same thing to me! Laroche, Posey also is a wonderful cleanser.
@maryalbert6138 that's so good to hear. Seriously, I've spent thousands over the years and think my skin is better at 57 than it was at 47

@verawhite1586 I use L'oreal retinol serum first and together they give a very soft, hydrated texture.

I think we're all getting more concerned about the chemicals we put on our skin! I've heard great things about castor oil and olive oil too.
The ordinary RED exfoliation is awesome. I love it and my skin looks so smooth after using it for a few months once a week.
Great video. Love your authenticity and ‘normal’ approach!
Thanks for recapping all these important steps. I've loved my skin since adding vit c.
I appreciate you so much for being here !

Bakuchiol is a natural form of retinol for those who can’t tolerate tretinoin or retinol
Thanks Lisa for your help on skin care ❤

Exactly! It was probably damaging your skin barrier just a little at a time and then boom! It became too much!
Good video. Btw, your hair is beautiful 😊
The Ordinary is the 💣

Yes you can!
I tried the Roc products and hated it.
Me too. I used the eye cream. This made my eyes burn.
In what order do you use these products.
I wash, tretinoin, needle less serum, than moisturize. Or wash, needle less, other chemical exfoliation, moisturizer then sunscreen 😊
@@LisaMoniquesunscreen everyday or only if going outside?
@@DulcePerle I only use if I'm going outside (I even asked my dermatologist about it)
