We unboxed the Nesco Gardenmaster Food Dehydrator and Jerky Maker, model FD-1018P. This model is the same as the FD-1010 model only this one has more accessories.

That's a really nice and complete dehydrator with all those extra trays, screens, and fluid trays. You were wise to pay the extra 15 dollars for those extras.
If you've seen our own dehydrating video, you'll see we have an older Nesco model, but it has served us well for over a decade. They are a good, long-lasting investment. Enjoy!

I found my 1010 model at a garage sale for 10 bucks! works great, and have made two batches of Jerky so far. Nice video.

The difference between tough/leathery and a bit soft is in how long you have it in the dehydrator. The last batch that we made stayed in a little longer, so the jerky strips were hard but the beef nuggets (being thicker)were very good. We all enjoy it more when the jerky is a little tender and can actually be chewed. :) They are also very good, when they first come out of the dehydrator and are still a little warm.

Is the jerky tough and leathery like some are from the supermarket or a little bit soft so you can actually chew it?
If you use it overnight in your kitchen does it heat up the kitchen or the house blowing out hot air? This is a concern in tne summer.
seattwa It blows out hot air, but I have never noticed it heating up the house.
Can't get the trays on.
We are using ours right now and not having any problems. Did the trays get dropped or damaged?

Just bought the same one but the buttem doesn’t close even with the 8 trays on top is that normal or should I replace it thanks again
Ours just sit on top of each other. Not sure what button you are talking about.

@@marjetarudovic2170 Sorry, thought you were saying button. We are traveling in our RV, so the unit is in storage and we can't check it. We looked at the video and it appears to be even and we never had a problem using it. If it does seem right, we'd return it and get another one. Sorry wish we could be more help.

I think the Teriyaki bottle has meat juice on it now oops
I am so glad I wasnt the only one who noticed! The bag that was going into the refrigerator for a couple days was also set on top of the dirty cutting board that the meat was on. It was a very helpful video and I appreciate that, however, you should never touch raw meat and then other stuff.
I love how she says our’s. To many times women say mine, mine, mine instead of ours.
