I spent many years in the bodybuilding and grappling community. I've never met someone who had health issues just from gear. It's always the guys who also smoke, drink, do blow, take pain killers, insulin, HGH, GHB, etc.

I’ve been a fan of mma from the onset of the UFC back in the 90’s. In the early days bjj was pretty popular but through it’s evolution it’s clear the wrestling is the dominant style. I don’t see me every jumping in the bjj bandwagon, especially with Gordon Ryan not only being a user of steroids but promoting the use of steroids in sport.

He laughed at one point but it's a fake laugh because his eyes weren't "laughing". First 4 minutes of the video he was more ready with answering the questions but approaching the middle part of the video he tended to look away more and avoided eye contact the the person asking the questions.

The more gordon preaches steroids are legal and makes it well known the more likely for organizations will start testing. Its been legal mostly becauae no one talks aboit it but organizations are going to want to legitamize the sport more and steroids are a bad look to the general public and parents of kids who want to be the next generation of grapplers might not want them going that route when they hear gordon talking about steroids all the time

As long as Gordon continues steroids, I am guessing these stomach issues and health concerns will continue.
Years ago i've did serious research on the use of steroids in multiple sports. One of the biggest signals someone is using is when they hate on others and hate on the public. No matter the sport, every athlete you got caught did it. Ryan does it too. Everybody sucks and the public doesn't know anything. My guess is because in everyday life he struggles with his use. People don't like to be wrong. But instead of admitting they are, they hate on the rest of the world.
I'm not anti-steroids. If you are like 50+ or something or have serious problems at a younger age there is a reason to use them. The guy is 27 and if he doesnt stop, he's seriously ill before 40 and dead before 50.

BJJ philosophy was always about small natural athletes being able to defend themselves and win against bigger opponents through meticulous technique. Gordon Ryan and others are phenoms but they're such tainted legacies due to their ridiculous roid use.
Yeah but that's just it, these guys all have meticulous technique, so they started to think steroids were the only way to one up each other, so the sport pretty much turned into one big steroid arms race. Good luck being a natural athlete in today's BJJ world.

Most of what he lost was water weight and muscle glycogen stores which would have filled right back up once he started eating and training properly again. Thats actually the only way to lose muscle this fast. juice doesnt give you muscles guys, it give your body the ability to work out more and recover better so that you can get muscular easier. When you stop taking it your muscle doesnt just fall off you will hold that muscle for a long time and it will gradually decline over many years depending on your food intake and workout regimen.
