That overhook combined with an ankle pick was the most slick take down I've seen in my entire life. That was just disgusting.
Yeah from southpaw as well
It wasn't an ankle pick lmao, it was a single leg, he literally never came close to touching his ankle. Please do more research before commenting lol
@ultimatescapebro I've been wrestling for 3 years. Ankle picks are a favorite move of mine. I know how they work. He didn't grab his ankle, but he used the exact same motion as an ankle pick. He pushed the head with the overhook while simultaneously lifting the opposite leg. The only reason he did it at the calf instead of the ankle is because in mma's stance, he doesn't need to bother going that low. Would you rather I call it a calf pick? Because that wasn't a single leg, it was a pick. Take your own advice before trying to be a keyboard warrior.
@@twasgracethattaught yes I’d rather call it a calf pick. And I agree it was closer to a ankle pick than a single leg. I also have been wrestling for over ten years but I appreciate your detailed explanation, I agree with you for sure bro.
@@ultimatescapebro I appreciate you not doubling down on your argument and being civil.
Man his striking is crisp for a wrestler. Insane
yeah
😂
@@xavierb9061I think he learned from your mom actually
His striking is crisp for anyone!
They are so worried about the takedown they forget he can ball up his fist and throw them.
He’s shown great boxing, judo, and BJJ all within a few fights. Not to even mention the wrestling. Dudes a beast.
One of those which you can bet on and make easy money without being afraid.
Any numagomedov, islam, jon jones. Free money
He hasn't fought anybody
@@part1801 neither did Khabib until his last few fights.
@@part1801Let's see. Dude spent 5 minutes in the cage in 4 fights. Every time in his career that his hands have hit someone, they're either out cold or on baby deer legs. He's one of the most decorated wrestlers of all time. His submissions and transitions are fucking top notch already. Once we see him get hit clean and not fall, all we will need to know is what size belt he wears. He passes all of the eye tests.
@@part1801Yes but he's shown he's fluid, he has the physical tools to go far, doesn't look stiff, pretty explosive, decent foot work, still in his 20s, sky's the limit.
When every second of your professional career makes the highlight real, you know you got a star on your hands.
Great point
An elite wrestler with knock out power. Very dangerous.
Like Matt Hughes
@@LordDirus007 Dude is way more skilled and faster on his feet than Matt. More athletic too. Matt was great but pretty stiff in the stand up.
Dan Henderson was my favorite wrestler with NASTY POWER
And the willingness to learn submissions. He is following in the footsteps of Matt Hughes and George St-Pierre. He has much more one punch knockout power than either one of those two.
He reminds me of Matt Serra a little bit. The only one you can compare power strikes in the history of welterweight division. Matt Serra was also a champion wrestler and a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu. Not quite the pedigree of Bo nickal but a fierce Jiu-Jitsu black belt. Both have ridiculous knockout power
I used to watch hours of his wrestling videos, let me emphasize he made watching wrestling very exciting. So stoked he’s in the UFC.
Easily one of the most dangerous college wrestlers I’ve seen, his ability to catch and pin elite guys was something special.
whewww
That overhand to single leg transition was so smooth
Ankle pick not a single
@@kaushikvasudevan2088 Same thing
@@bamaboitube8572 nah not the same
@@isuckbut906 definitely the same thing buddy
@@bamaboitube8572 you are delulu little buddy
tell me more about your grappling acumen
A knockout and a takedown at the same time!
Think he meant knockdown
Yeah I haven’t ever seen anything like that before
That shit was wild
Using the punch as a fucking push to ankle/knee pick him was wild
@@johnharris7756Correct.
It's that takedown threat that has these guys flustered
fr. in the exact same exchange that he’s trying to knock you out he’s also trying to take you down
i think its the speed
@@comfortmhakayakora2212 It's not the speed, he has really long arms. He can reach you before you reach him, and on top of that he was unorthodox as far as wrestlers go. That's what I don't think people realize. He was an extremely good wrestler, but he didn't go about it in the traditional way. You only need to watch his national finals match against Miles Martin to understand that.
What’s crazy is so many people don’t even realize his wrestling background, he’s probably one of the best wrestlers in the nation if not the best. Multiyear national champion for Penn State.
Also Us national champion and U23 world champion. Dude probably could have gone to the Olympics and won no problem.
Yeah I agree. He is on another level. That’s why it makes me laugh how everyone is up Khamzats ass when he isn’t even close to the level of Bo. Bo would make light work of that guy
@@johnharris7756 that doesnt mean shit in mma bruh
Tell that to Khabib. Who ended up being the greatest fighter of all time. Also, tell that to John Jones who is also one of the greatest of all time. Wrestling is the strongest base in MMA. If you were a real feel, you would know that.
@@johnharris7756 Freestyle wrestling and MMA wrestling are very different if you weren't a casual you'd know that. Jones was a greco-roman wrestler and Khabib did Sambo. I'm just saying that Bo Nickal haven't proven in the UFC yet
him and chimaev would be huge
Y Ankalaev!
Bo would win, he is just better and his cardio doesn't suck. Just hope he has a chin.
@@Learner_29 chimaev winning
I think Bo needs a little bit more experience in the striking and MMA Game!
Bo can be the Greatest MMA Fighter Ever. He's that Good but it's to soon, to fast!
Chimaev lost with bo
This guys the next star. Insanely precise and quick striking from good angles, fast combos, insane wrestling and torque.
Everyone was saying that about paddy. He is impressive, but I need to see him against some of the top contenders first.
no is impressed with paddys striking judo or wrestling its literarily just his bjj and his personality@@Robert-xn3dc
@@Robert-xn3dcbrother… paddy doesn’t have shit on bo

He is so dangerous on the ground that he is catching his opponents in defensive transition with strikes. Kid is a beast....
He fights similar to khabib
@@brandongreene5674But way more dominant

Khabib is ok in a standing fight, he has perfect head movement, the problem is he doesn't have knockout power
Wrestling, most underrated sport in HS.
As an MMA guy now I kick myself for not wrestling in HS.
@@alhfgsp Same man I wish I would have
I remember the exact moment i said no during a recruiting attempt. Another FML moment to the list. Soon I will be demanding the P4P world championship title for FML up moments.
I joined my senior year , big mistake. you gotta start early
I’m so grateful to have gotten the opportunity to be the scorekeeper for a couple of Bo’s wrestling matches at the Southern Scuffle. He’s going to be be just as dominant in the ufc as he was in NCAA. I’m calling it
A middle weight Mighty Mouse👑
You’re speaking wayyy too soon, he is very promising but you never really know
Enters with that left cross so hard it sounded like a bat, somehow at the exact time he connects, he ankle picked the dude and sends him flying backwards, then mounts and transitions to bottom to lock in a triangle choke!? This dude is a freak
That was an amazing sequence there, veteran move!
The crazy thing is, he has very little jujitsu experience and took a match against Gordon Ryan and defended everything Gordon had to offer for almost ten min. Which is mind boggling if you’ve ever rolled against an ordinary blackbelt let alone the best one on planet earth. Bo is a bad motherfucker.
Top-tier wrestling skill, dangerous hands, naturally athletic, and very high fight IQ.
Kinda reminds me of a Jon Jones. Jon is tue complete package just like this guy. But I want him to take it slow. Don't go straight into the deep end. Gain experience first.
Да но только ты питух😅
I used to watch Bo nickal wrestle in college. Ira said to myself this guy goes MMA he's going to dominate
Watched all 4 years of Bo during Penn State Wrestling. Awesome to see what an elite wrestler can do in UFC.
He is a Viking.
He’s an authentic wild west specimen
This guy is legitimately unstoppable, he's like Cejudo but more charismatic & marketable. Watch Henry's striking before his fight with Reis and afterwards, the progress was almost superhuman. Bo has the same kind of physical gifts. (To be clear, I like Henry alot and think he doesn't get NEARLY the credit he deserves for being an absolute monster in the cage, he just wasn't as marketable as Bo is.)
Cejudo is a great wrestler, but he was certainly more focused on freestyle Folkstyle is more suited to MMA
Legitimately unstoppable…..? Lol
Lol nah
A smiiidge too early to be claiming he’s unstoppable 😂
@@pauldarling330you don't know what you're talking about
No one ready for him. He is one of the greatest wrestler of this time. If your gonna beat him you better land a hay maker all I gotta say cause just had the some of the fastest reactions to moving and getting what he wants
Beside his amazing wrestling , look at his punch accuracy , speed and power !! Seems to be a complete fighter , can't wait to see this kid in the octagon
And his submission game ain't bad as well.
@@farzana6676Didn't he compete against Gordon Ryan💀💀💀💀
@@farzana6676 It is also the speed of his transtions between them, and the force behind them, all done with authority.
@davidanderson9074 Still have to see what Bo is going to against high level Dagestan wrestlers.
This man will b a legend one day
Ive never heard of this guy. But im checking him out and i can see his wrestling is top notch. Its crazy how he only requires a small amount of stand up game, and its a surprise to see his stand up game is good too. I have definitely thought wresting is an excellent base for mma before but this guy proves it.
What a fighter! Hopefully the next big thing 🙌🏼
And his demeanor his attitude even his body language is like : elite athlete. I truly commend this guy and love to watch his fights!
That man is an authentic wild west specimen
For all his wrestling ability he is extremely accurate with his strikes don’t think he missed the whole video defo a future champ
insane mentality and discipline
This dude was born for this. I just rewatched his UFC 290 fight and DC mentions Nickal's mom was a boxer and boxing coach.
What’s truly terrifying about his credentials and style is displayed at 3:37. You can tell from his earlier pro fights he’s drilled this a lot.
Wide stance when striking that also threatens the takedown with feints. If he grabs you, he takes you down; if he feints and you try to defend the takedown dropping your hand, he’ll blast you with his heavy hands; plus he darts in and out constantly almost karate or Taekwondo-esque.
Truly a nightmare to fight against.
I noticed the karate similarities with his striking as well. He lands a strike and then immediately drops back to see the result and target the next opening. Reminds me a bit of how Machida in his prime would dart in and out with his strikes
Bo nickel - the real deal and he is going straight to the top in dominat fashion
This guy is fucking insane and easy future world champion FOR SURE
I been watching this guy wrestle since he was a freshman and god damn I’m so excited he made this transition faster than Burroughs
I met Bo when I was a sophomore in high school. He was a kid then, like 7yrs old lol. His dad was the wresting coach, his grandpa (also a great wrestler) was the weights teacher and his mom was the tennis coach. I've been following his career since he was at Penn state and I'm happy for him and how far he's gone. Keep the shit up
Sick video brother! Keep up the good work 🔥
Bo is such an incredible athlete it's insane
What’s interesting about BO I think is that regardless of his elite wrestling you can clearly see he’s got heavy hands.
His wrestling base will be his foundation and that will translate to him being able to learn more on the ground in terms of BJJ.
For a guy who’s been wrestling since early childhood while taught to keep his shoulders off the Mat at all costs….
he sure as hell transitioned to a smooth triangle choke off of his back which was very impressive and promising coming from a life long wrestler like him.
He’s got all the tools and if he gets to working with an elite striking coach he could really make some serious noise in the UFC I think.
Not to mention that his body type is big and strong with some length too.
Solid height with what looks like a good reach arm wise and long legs.
I’d get him plenty of Practice and help from top striking coaches.
Keep at it overtime so he can Develop some crisp boxing out of that south paw position.
To top it off? since he’s not afraid of being taken down? Maybe even a Muay Thai coach.
His stance and foot work looks is as if it’s little far back so possibly teach him to rifle some leg or body kicks off that back foot.
You already know not many are eager to shoot for a takedown so why not?
He’s already showed to have extremely promising and impressive traits right off the bat.
Work ethic.
Competitiveness.
Elite wrestling.
Cardio.
Experience under pressure.
Naturally heavy hands.
Bo is the biggest prospect I’ve seen in an absurdly long time. I wouldn’t bet against him for a second.
This kid could be special for this sport. He’s a natural.
Bo Nickal is what Brock Lesnar would be if he were a middleweight.
What a wrecking machine. This guy has a bright future ahead of him.
He is much more technical and has way more finese than Brock.
That second win. Oof. Bo Nickal on your back with his arms around your neck that early in the fight... good luck. You can see it in the dude's face after he taps. I don't even know if it was below the chin but it don't matter, the amount of pressure must have been earth shattering for that guy.
Очень нравится это мужик. Достойный. Теперь буду следить за каждым боем
Bo ain't no joke . He will be champ one day . JMO
He is OG💪✌️
3:21 why is nobody talkin abt that judo throw into a guillotine attempt, shit was awesome
All I can say is Bo is absolutely amazing in that cage go Bo go ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Bi Nichols can bang and wrestle very explosive at both. I love this style
One of the best wrestlers ever at penn state always will be a favorite I wish more people actually knew his background his wrestling career at psu so glad I seen him wrestle multiple times!
Nobody understand that Bo Nickal can easily have a title shot already because he is the best in the division
At this very moment Izzy wins.. he'd just run and jab this guy up and lay against the cage as leverage.... Multiple leg kicks as well but a year from now Bo wins no doubt.
@@TonyMontana-uv3foEasy win for Bo. Most of his opponents, Izzy needs atleast 2 or 3 rounds to finish em’.. compare to Bo, only a few second, round 1.. the speed and accuracy of those punches and take down … they are unbelievable
@@stallionxx8011 To be fair Bo hasn't been put up against any serious competition yet so that remains to be seen. I think he needs a little more experience in the UFC before they put him up against the best of the best but he'll get there.
I'd like to see him get his striking on point first. Have em work muay thai/kickboxing constantly. He does have a boxing background as well, but he needs to polish up a bit
@@TonyMontana-uv3fo middleweight has no good wrestlers, its wraps bo nickal champ for a very very long time
what a sick video.
This man is crazy good
Really good use of level change faints to land strikes and dude carries good power too
this dude is gonna be the next big thing 100%. wrestling background, excellent bjj and grappling, not to mention his striking game is better then most actually boxers and primary strikers out there. he keeps working at everything and this man is gonna be an absolute monster.
A proper fighter
When I heard Bo was getting into MMA after his college wrestling career, I knew he was going ti dominate! Wrestlers are a different animal inside the cage. Especially when you’re a 3x national champ at Penn State! No one can come close to competing with him on the ground and he’s shown he is very comfortable and dangerous on his feet! Can’t wait to see him face some better competition but unless someone catches him with a knockout shot, iI don’t see him loosing! He’s always been in tremendous shape and absolutely hates losing…. Looking forward to watching his next fight!
Great
Dude is a freakin animal
..and I wonder how Bo would handle Khamzats "rag-dolling", when he picks people up off their feet.

Damn dope!
Wow! With a name like Bo Nickal, he’s destined to be a great fighter. Or, one damn fine whiskey! He’s gonna smoke the competition!
Bo Nickal has become undoubtedly my favorite wrestler and mma fighter. I could watch this dude dominate for hours
This guy is something. I think this man will dawn an era of dominance not seen since Fedor Emelianenko.
That speed!
Wrestlers have a certain advantage because it gets in their opponents heads that they are going to shoot for a take down, but then they just stay on the feet and box until they drop, it confuses fighters.
The real deal. Look forward to watching him succeed.
Awesomeness Bo‼️🤣

I Love how (in the 2nd match) dude realized (halfway through that sorta flying knee) what he was doing 😂
