    I am disappointed in myself because I never tried hard enough for anything. I never pushed myself to achieve a specific goal. I just sort of floated through life. I graduated college, but with no goal in mind. Now I’m lost and feel I’ve cheated myself by not questioning who I was and what I was good at.

    Linda, you are so amazing. I left my job just few days ago without any job as a replacement. Just because I cannot do it anymore and I might sound so bitchy but it dies me to really get up and work. I always cry at night, having a lot of anxiety attacks regardless of location, i know that if i will stil continue at it I would commit suicide. That is what I am doing right now. Thank God I was able to save few pennies to fund this 'soul searching' of mine 😅. But thank you for making me feel understood. Thank you. You don't know how much it means to me esp when everybody is questioning your decision. Thank you. Someday I'll see my path and I will come to you personally to thank you. 😊

      I left my job like 7 months ago without having a new replacement too. I felt the exact same thing. Mainly, because of poor management at work, left alone serving clients with mental health issues, in which I don’t mind. Plus, out of 21 hours getting paid only 11 hours, the rest as volunteering, as it was being part of the contract, which is fine, i was still happy to do. But, because of such poor management e.g how clients wanted one thing vs how leaders turning against it, and the one in between the crisis is me/workers getting all the punches from either side (damn if you do and damn if you don’t). Then, that’s it, I had to go, with much regret. To me, only if they knew how to give some values to all of their workers, life would have been great. Because people need people, the sick ones need the healthy ones to help them around. Plus, everyone needs to have a job, to get money for all kinds of bills, like from mortgage, foods, clothes, fuel etc. But anyway, the same. Since I have enough savings, I am fine. I have now accepted life just the way it is. Just think of it as similar to having a car accident, no one wants it, but it did happen, so move on. At least, I experienced through it, that life can be traumatic out there. I really appreciated and admired those frontline workers, of the amount of time that they have given, for free service, plus how they have to cope with all kinds of abuses from both sides. To me, they are angels in a human form.

    Definitely feeling lost, I'm 45 and have been only raising kids. This year I am planning on going back to school. I do not have any type of degree, so I am extremely scared to find a career. I am wondering how difficult it will be.

    • @reneearnold3580
      @reneearnold3580 5 лет назад +2

      jessica luna I used to work with kids who were getting their GED and would meet with them a few times each month in career exploration. I found it to be so useful as I wished someone would’ve done this with me before I spent the money getting my degree and then my Master’s degree. My number one piece of advice to you would be to see if your state has an online workforce development website that covers career exploration and complete some online career assessments to see what your areas of career interests are based on your personality, abilities and interests rank. Every state has some type of Workforce Development training due to Congress bi-partisan funding. You can also google American Job Center to get access to some great resources and online tools. Good luck in your future career endeavors!! 😊

    I feel you are so close to me it's weird. I'm also an accountant and I worked my butt off , and thought that because I was better than many others that I would enjoy it when I started working. But I worked in the one place I didn't want to the most. my father's business. I had to help out and I felt the job to be tedious , long , boring , and I really wasn't sure of what I was doing. I feel useless everyday bec. I do things that no one wants to take a look at ; I stress alot about the smallest details bec. I'm a perfectionist; and I can't leave bec. he won't let me . says I have to supervise anyone that comes and there are things that only I can do. I don't know If I hate the job or just being useless working with him. I can't imagine myself doing this same job anywhere else either anymore. I feel like I only try in things when I find myself better than others in them , not bec. I enjoy them .So when I find that there might people better than me I lose all excitement. I feel I no longer find anything worth doing. I hate work , hate family and I'm not doing anything useful. If I die right now , no one will know. bec. I've spent my entire life using fantasy to escape things I didn't wanna do like boring school tasks or later on actual work . and If I wasn't escaping,then I was doing them, which was equally also useless. I don't really have anything useful I should be doing anymore. Anyway uh thanks for your videos , hope you keep them up.

    Just want to seek some advice:
    What if the reason that is bothering me is that I don't have any specific goals that I want to achieve in life? I don't know what specific roles and industry to venture in and there isn't any job that I am clear to pursue? As I have no specific role that I want to pursue, I can foresee that I might be jumping into different jobs and different industry, which might not look good on my resume.
    So, how do you know what role that you want to venture and try for it? What if this role that you wanted to try, ended up to be something that doesn't suit you, then you are back to ground zero and if you applied another job role, there might not be relevant experience.. Again, age will also soon be the troubling factor.
    Would really want to seek your advice on this. P.S. I graduated in 2018, had 1 year contract job. Now, I am seeking my second job but i am not clear of my career path.

    I’m tired of looking. I’ve been working Waterhouse’s jobs getting paid minimum wage $12 hr. It’s been so tiring physically. I’m currently a business student. Trying to manage school, work, and living by myself. I’ve been looking for so many jobs and even going to interviews and I get nothing. I started to have self doubt and like you mentioned in another video about why you can’t find your job, I started to just feel desperate. I need to pay bills and I’ keep getting stuck and my job can’t even cover all my expenses. It’s been months that I stopped buying things for myself, now I literally every paycheck isn’t enough to cover bills. Even ended up getting a roommate to help pay at least half. I feel lost. And now I feel I have shifted my mindset that maybe I deserve a 12hr wage. I hate it. I know I have great work ethic and even in sales I’m a great sales person, driven and all of that but now I feel so lost, like giving up so many times. I try watching motivational videos and everything everyday but I just keep feeling lost and like a loser. I constantly fight my own thoughts and improving my energy to even attract positivity but still it’s so long already I want to succeed and grow I’m tired of feeling this way.

      @@caribaez5711 You are obviosuly good at what you do if the people you work with care so much for you. But if it is not your passion it is better to switch careers now then waste many years in a job you dont love and then try to go back to school later on. You are in study and work hard to graduate mode now, it will be tough to get back that kind of drive later in life.

    So much value and wisdom in this video, Linda! I recently read the book, "The Path Made Clear" by Oprah Winfrey. It brought SO much clarity towards finding the right path and making peace with the process. 🙂

    Advice to people who are thinking about going to school for accounting. Think carefully! It's not for everyone. Also, it is getting harder to land a job.

    Linda this is a nice video.... But sometimes you are stuck in a field. People and companies doesn't give you the opportunity to change to another type of job. If you are applying to different fields, they don't take you into consideration.... They only consider you for jobs similar you have done.... So if you want to change, is not that easy. At least it hasn't been for me in Italy. They classified you...

      Gloria, are you looking at the job descriptions for jobs you are applying to and then highlighting the transferable skills from your current career?
