ABOUT THE GOOD PLACE
From creator Michael Schur (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Parks and Recreation” and “Master of None”) comes a unique comedy about what makes a good person. The show follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell, “House of Lies,” “Veronica Mars”), an ordinary woman who enters the afterlife, and thanks to some kind of error, is sent to the Good Place instead of the Bad Place (which is definitely where she belongs). While hiding in plain sight from Good Place Architect Michael (Ted Danson - “Cheers,” “CSI” - in an Emmy Award-nominated performance), she’s determined to shed her old way of living and earn her spot.

So, I think "THE" answer is the answer the "THE" question, the question that is most important to Chidi, the soulmate question. For him, the answer to his question of if he has a soulmate is Eleanor

Before he had his memory erased, he wrote a note and gave it to Janet to keep. When his memory was restored, he asked Janet to give back the note and that's what the note said.

3. Me, definitely not tearing up right now about them.
it was really amazing how Chidi's mind didn't break from having all his memories from 800 years restored. The wipes were holding him back, he had long since grown as a person and having his memories restored enabled him further, rather than burdened or broke him.
My favorite thing about this couple is that even after they kiss or start dating or something like that Eleanor still continues to tease him. It’s so cute to me

More importantly, it was reflected off his glasses. Eleanor knows how to read stuff off people’s glasses. He read it so she could see it, so he could tell her that privately with everyone else around them.

Rewatching this, I realized this is coming from someone who didn't get to just be a kid because her parents were immature and irresponsible asholes. Eleanor isn't just talking about Chidi in this scene, she's talking about herself too. It's little things like this that really show how and why they connect so well and are perfect for each other. Well played TGP, well played.

See this is what i love about the two of them. The actors are stellar on their own but having these *proper* ‘opposites attract’ relationships where it is reasonable for them to get together, as well as that one line where Eleanour points out to Chidi about that story when he was young, shows why this show has such depth. Its more about saving humanity. Its about them being together
This episode is not only the best episode of the season, but the best episode of the series so far.
DuoForbidden honestly I didn’t care for this episode. It doesn’t move the plot forward which is currently at a really exciting point and instead it focuses on developing Chidi and showing his growth. This is best done in small bits sprinkled throughout the plot not as an episode long info dump which puts the plot on hold. Additionally it didn’t show us anything we didn’t already know. The scenes were new but they just recapped what we saw before.
To me this was just a fill episode to make the season longer.
Nigel Dyllian Robinson I respectfully disagree. When Chidi woke up, he was definitely a different person, someone who can focus on the problem at hand and actually get to work. I feel the answer to how to work within the current point system can be found in what Chidi learned from everyone throughout his time on Earth and in the many reiterations of the afterlife, and we needed to see that for the ending to make sense to us as the audience.
It showed the most valuable lessons he learned from each of the people dearest to him but they all occurred in different “versions” of himself. Restoring all of his memories brought all of those revelations together and he is clearly changed. Now they can tackle the biggest problem they’ve ever faced, together.
I agree with AshLeigh and Michelle. What has always held Chidi back is his indecisiveness. He's a great teacher at ethics and philosophy, but his heart wasn't in it. He tried to make his choices based on logic. As Micheal told him, "Life isn’t a puzzle you solve once. You get up every day and solve it again." While we may never see fully all of Chidi's 800+ worth of memories, seeing just a few glimpses showed how far he's come.
This episode is great but I think janets is the best episode so far lol

There are only a few episodes left tho, the last one airs January 30th.
This almost made me cry the first time, especially at the end. So nice to reflect on how they kept falling in love, I could feel their feelings for each other so much more in this episode than any other. Interesting to think that there was at least one reboot that they fell in love but Chidi ultimately rejected her because he had another soulmate.

I LOVE CHIDI AND ELEANOR
This was so wonderful and I cried tears of joy this episode. This show is so special. I will miss it but I will always savour it and rewatch it.
I can't. This show is so so so ridiculously good. I don't think I've ever shipped a pairing as much as I have these 2 for a long time. The best thing about them- they weren't everyone's ship from the beginning at least for me, from season 1 I was like meh til now where I don't know what I will do if these 2 don't end up together. THEY GREW TOGETHER. It wasnt a look across the room and instant attraction type of deal, they aren't together because somehow the writers can't write anyone else for them(which to be honest, I feel like most couples on TV are together just because) Their relationship is a part of them growing up, a part of their development, and a vital part of the story. We root for them because we see how and why they are good together, and not because they look good on the surface.
I love that we got to see those random moments from last seasons finale. I loved this episode so much.

I think they may be tipping their hat on the Endgame here. Eleanor literally is the answer, not just to Chidi's question, but also to, I think, what the ultimate ending of the show will be thematically. Likely related to how we may be good or bad people, but we are always capable of being better, as Eleanor has been doing the entire show

That was the best finale I’ve ever seen but I wish there was more, I need more! I forkin need more! I’ve watched the good place 12 times and it’s my favourite series!!! Give us more! I’m not gonna lie, season 4 was a bit of a train wreck but after S4 e5 it got better and better gradually

This was SUCH a good episode. I absolutely loved it.
I say this every week, but still.
"Looks like he has a tummyache." 70 seconds in and it's already a candidate for top five episodes of the whole series.
I loved the episode for sure, but honestly I can't help but wonder how everything Chidi learns during those 300 years/3 seconds will apply to the whole "new afterlife" problem! I do have a theory (basically an afterlife full of communities of about 300 people that are well-fitted to drive each other crazy yet get along really well in the end! And if somehow a few people in there still get lonely, can't seem to bond with the rest, add a few people for those lonely souls, until that community is well-harmonized! That's my theory anyway, but we'll see! :) )
How about if you want to live in the good place you live in it, if you want the bad place you live in it. Who would want to live in the bad place? you would be surprised.
