From creator Michael Schur (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Parks and Recreation” and “Master of None”) comes a unique comedy about what makes a good person. The show follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell, “House of Lies,” “Veronica Mars”), an ordinary woman who enters the afterlife, and thanks to some kind of error, is sent to the Good Place instead of the Bad Place (which is definitely where she belongs). As soon as I saw the lizard, I was thinking 'huhhhh??? Where is the sloth!!!'... maybe it was a hazard as Kristen Bell is OBSESSED with them. 😂 too much excitement on one set. Or she would be crying the whole time. 🙈

A lizard makes more sense for Elanor, but it does seem like a missed opportunity...Even if they weren't going to use it for the show just to have it around and watch her lose it. That's probably not great for the shooting schedule, of course. Just one of many reasons why no one would ever put me in charge of a tv show.
They should've brought Sloth as her soulmate instead of dog in one of the reboot.

I know the episode is supposed to be all about Eleanor and Chidi, but the best scene is where KB is casually carrying on a conversation while ignoring the iguana crawling all over her head.
edit four years later: The look Tahani gives the iguana while Michael is talking is priceless.
I loved that, i was really focusing on lizard since Michael said he made it poop on her shoulder.

Chidi and Eleanor is the definition of soulmates, no matter what universe or whatever happens, they will always find eachother, and they make eachother better: Chdi helps Eleanor become a moral and kinder person while Eleanor helps Chidi become better at making choices.
The thing that i find really smart about their relationship is that the question "do soulmates really exist" remains unanswered, so we the audience have to think ourselves if they're soulmates or just a great couple
But they didn't find each other in their (first) real life...

I relate to Chidi so much. Because of my autism and ADD I struggle to make decisions. Okay, nowhere near as bad as Chidi, but I like to see my anxiety reflected in another character. He and I experience anxiety over the exact same things.
Look on the bright side, if you’re like Chidi, you’re good in your heart, no matter the situation. That’s more than I can say.
Has watching Chidi and his struggles helped you at all?

For everything else that's great, I just really adore Eleanor with a lizard. She's clearly SO entertained by it, and it suits her to a tee.

There’s something i don’t understand. Michael is always saying that they fell in love in ONE reboot. But in the first one they had feelings for each other, in this one they said it and in the last one they also kiss and said that something is happening. And i’m pretty sure that they start to devolpe feelings in other reboots as well, so i can’t understand why Michael always says there were just ONE in reboot in which they are in love, there were more.
But this was the only reboot that they actually said I love you

I was so happy when Chidi and her got together even if it didn't last forever. Eleanor got to know what love was and Chidi got the confidence and strength to be assertive. Wish I had a woman like Eleanor who loved me so. xd

Zephyrus_anim8 Considering that everyone else is a demon and for an amount of time the weather was dictated by one’s inner turmoil (allegedly), taking scratch damage ain’t no thang.
at this point they still believe its a glitch that Eleanor ended up there, to which they've been blaming all mishaps on, like the weather and now Chidi getting hurt by his owl. They know these things wouldn't typically happen in heaven, but there is also the anomaly that someone is there who shouldn't be, which makes everything go haywire (or so they think). They just keep explaining everything away
Eleanor and Chidi need to happen in the next episode 🤦🏾♀️

Ok, I don't want to be a party pooper, but they had hundreds of reboots, and they feel in love in just one, wouldn't it be more meaningful if the loved each other in more reboots? I mean one, only one
They did, though. I'm very confused about why Michael keeps talking about one time...
First of all, Michael or any devil doesn't know everything that happens in the neighbourhood. He only got to know the first time because Chidi and Eleanor themself confessed that they were serious about their relationship.
I bet before this Reboot 119, he didn't even know that Eleanor was capable of falling in love.
Yes, Michael allowed relationship for torturing purpose but for him he never thought it would escalate in love in any of our 4 humans lives.
Time is also a factor, The longest reboot lasted for 11 months. And not to forget, there WERE many reboots where Eleanor and Chidi were not even soulmates. So it would've taken some time for the transition to teacher-student relationship to friendship and eventually love. Most people take even longer time to say the L word.
We know at least twice, the final reboot before back to earth and the one where they say I love you. Mindy also said they were at least romantically/sexually involved six of the times they visited her. Michael is an unreliable narrator because he doesn't know everything that goes on. Remember, he had no idea about Janet and Jason until he was told, or Jason and Tahani.
Am I the only one who thinks that Eleanor's lizard is actually kind of adorable?
