As promised, here's a lesson on How to play the Solo from Seasons In The Abyss by Slayer. The solo consists of two parts, first Kerry King's and then Jeff Hanneman's respectively. Tabs are on screen, watch in HD! Enjoy!
brother you are a bad ass guitar player and a great teacher. I've found nobody online that is as descriptive and thorough as you are. keep up the excellent work!
Thanks Mike! Appreciate it!
I own a lot of Guitar Play Along books and DVD lessons. This was outstanding, man. You obviously took your time and figured these notes out to where it sounds so much like the original. Some books have come out since you did this video and I swear your tab seems to be much more accurate. A good and prosperous life to you. Now I finally can play the song the way it should be played. I have an ESP with a whammy bar just for these types of songs.
Thank you! Great lesson. I can now play Jeff's solo but I'm still trying to get the hang of the start of it.
I have been waiting years for this lesson. Dude you rock Thank you
My brother ..thank you so much for this..at work now can't wait to get home and try this👌
hey man thanks so much for your vid it was very helpful. Really made it easier to get into slayer solos as kerry and jeff were really the people who inspired me to pickup a guitar and keep playing

Thank you so much for this video...it’s perfect! New subscriber here!
Much better than Holt! Almost like Jeff.
I love your lessons dude!. Godlike. Can you please do bridge to cross by black label society or something of them?
Kerry/Hanneman solos are like an art gallery that you wouldn't take your grandparents to.
Thanks bud. Great job. Mine sounds nothing like urs or slayer but that's OK.
I have electric guitar but no amp, when I try Kings s solo, the whammy trick while sliding into notes doesn't sound right, is it cause of no electricity, or my lack of playing it right?😮
i still have my beginner guitar which only has 21 frets time to upgrade
nice!

you make everything look so easy brother! are there more slayer lessons in the future?
Yes, most definetely, if I get the time.
Awesome, looking forward to it, thanks for all the lessons
Very nice tutorial! I liked it a lot :D How did u set your effects delay to sound like the record? Is it digital delay, feedback or something? What kind of timing? thanks!
GuitarForce.Com dead skin mask solo ?
Isn’t the solo in a wrong key?
Merschavonia Who cares
All of kerry king's solos are kind of atonal XD
Mannn what software ya using to get that sound?
Is the tremelo bar required to play this solo? All my guitars only has the tremelo and reverb switch and ones with the bar are fucking far out of my budget, too expensive. Is it possible to play the solo without the bar?
The second solo, yes. But the first solo, like all KK solos, you need the bar.
Jonathyn Edwards have you seen the big 4 performances they did in Sofia, Hannemen fucking sucked. He fucked a lot of his solos up and his tone sounded like a 13 year old playing through a 25 volt line 6. Kerry King stuck to his original solos and his tone sounded good and his accuracy sounded cleaner and even looked cleaner. I have no idea what happened with that, Hannamen use to be the better guitarist.
I don't know either, but I do agree with you.
+Jonathan Burton
Don't you know why Jeff died,of alcohol of course.ne never played sober, but you can't play good if you 're drunk. But still,Jef writen all the best Slayer songs,Angel of death,Postmortem,Discilple,Season ..and other sand in my opinion he was the greatest metal writer in the World. He is one more reason why people should stay away of drugs and alcohol.Jeff,Morison,Janis,Hendrix,Lynot,Cobain ,they all died young
+Jonathan Burton He was suffering from very bad arthritis. he played through a ot of pain and on some nights would have great difficulty playing. I am not making excuses, I can sympathize because like a lot of self taught payers, I also suffered the same arthritis where my picking hand would go numb, I couldn't even hold the damn pick after a half hour into a set. and it gets worse.
Next time please use metronome, i am totally lost when you play some tones without it :/
My distortion doesn't sound that awesome!! Is it the amp, pedal, or just tuning?
+Dillon S Not tuning, it only affects the pitch of the strings. I don't know if they use pedals, but the amp definitely. If you can't afford a good amp, buy or pirate BIAS desktop or a similar program like Guitar Rig. It sound VERY good and it's only about 100$ (I swear I'm not a salesman xD)
+Dillon S the distortion is mixed with a delay effect
+Felipe Ch. ohhhh ok. How do I do that Haha
Dillon S You add distortion to the guitar and then you add delay with a pedal or the in built feature of the amp, naturally.
@@ultimapalabrahc I think any shreddy divebomby guitar solo deserves a nice delay. Even clean guitars!
yeahhh great...
Hanniman's solo is wayy better
To bad that I am to bad to play this. Maybe one day.
