    Two things for the bit about trading stations:
    - Don't trade for raw resources like ore, silicon, gas (anything that is mined).
    The AI will not buy raw resources from stations, so you'll just end up with a huge stockpile of materials that doesn't get sold.
    You can of course buy raw resources if you need them for a production chain, but that is not the point of the trade station in this video.
    - When setting up a trade station, you will need to accept the estimate for the station budget after you have set up the buy orders. Otherwise it has no money to buy stuff with.
    You can see the station account box above hull parts go red at 21:40. Click the station account box and accept estimate to give it money.

    Right click on the filter window will also give you the factory you will need to trade with. Much easier :) Also trading cells, check the amount of cells they buy. In your example, you only sold a bit instead of looking for more trades with one fill.

    Thank you for continueing making these kind of videos. You already helped me quite a lot with your previous ones. Your pace of explaining I can keep up and understand.

    Can I give a bit of constructive criticism? I'm gonna preface this by stating your videos are a millions times better than anything I could do but I'm giving my opinion based on being a 'consumer' of your vids. Here goes: Could I suggest (politely as possible heh) that you maybe script a little bit more with your tutorials? Reason being is I notice a lot of pauses and you seem to dither for a moment until you get your mind back on track. It can make for difficult viewing and also at one point even made me query if you knew what you were talking about. Luckily I've watched your vids for a while and knew to hold out, but new users might not do. Thanks for your hard work and I hope you don't take this post as a dig.

    Thank you for the informative video! I learnt a lot and can't wait to get my traders up and running now! Quick question on trading though: what do the colours of the prices when trading mean as it doesn't seem to be green=good and red=bad?
    Also when inventory trading on a station what do those colours signify? I think I read somewhere that gold was a good selling price and green was good buying price but I can't seem to find it again. Thanks again!

    A bit behind the ball, but I just got into X4 and it's hard to filter out the pre-6.X advice out there. I was trying to set up a distribution station the other day and I was having difficulties. For example, I had a solar station, a refined metals station, and a graphene station all that should have been pushing their products to the distribution station while also pulling the energy cells they needed from the distribution station. I tried throwing all of my traders onto the distribution station and found the results to be not great. It seemed like they focused on pulling resources into the distribution station and rarely pushed energy cells back to the graphene and refined metals stations. Is there a method to that sort of madness (especially because what I was actually doing was hull parts which is a few additional steps)? I was thinking of my next attempt I would use traders only as pushers, so associate with the graphene, energy cells, and refined metals station to get their products top distribution and then the traders at distribution would push the energy cells out. Or am I asking too much of the AI to be able to balance inputs and outputs like that and I should just use repeat orders like I've seen elsewhere?

      Stations usually request resources, so your best bet is to use the stations needing the energy cells to pull them from yours, and have them set to trade with your faction only for them

    When i tell my miners to local automine, (using small ships when i start out if it makes a difference for later) they seem to break up a astroid and spin around the bit they are supposed to pick up. Touching it but not taking it it seems. Has anyone else had this?

      Try to leave the sector.

      Leave sector so ships despawn and turn into simulated data.
      Fixes everything.

      I don’t think NPC miner will buy miners or gas from you as they only have Solid and liquid cargo storage.
      You would need to assign miner as trader to your station.
      I usually set Buy price min, no restrictions. Sell price min+1 no restrictions.
      Usually Ore and Silicone goes well, the gasses ok, ice not so much.

    • @TheRuggedGamer
      @TheRuggedGamer  Год назад +2

      As Res mentions, they usually dont directly buy from you, but you can sell to others with "miner traders" however on rare occasions in areas with little or no resource that you sell... they will buy

    If i want a trader to continuously buy energy sells for my station. How do i set him up? Repeating job wont work as i cant sell to my own station and it doesn’t have the exchange goods option.

    I couldnt watch the whole video yet. But whenever i set a trader to trade for commander(station with lots of goods and 4,5+ Manager) they always say they cant find any trades. I produce all hightech product there. Why?

    • @phoenixsui
      @phoenixsui Год назад

      So far i just set the Trader to autotrade near my station. So at least sometimes he picks up from my station.

    • @phoenixsui
      @phoenixsui Год назад

      Also no of my storage is full, so it seems enough traders buy from my station. But i still wish to know why rightclick, trade for comander won’t work ever.

    • @phoenixsui

      I watched a little further. Is it possible that trade for commander only works with trading stations? Would be weird. And i cant select the produced goods for trading.
