I feel so sorry for people who thought Zuko would be your run of a mill I'm-just-a-bad-guy- for-no-reason type of villain and then just getting hit with this episode 😂😂
That's what makes Avatar a great show. Things are not black and white. Fire Nation didn't just attack the other Natione for just power. They saw their culture lacking. The Water tribes are so spreated and have hard sexism in the North. As the Fire Nation has progressed beyond that. The Air Nation had no form of military. Making them super vulnerable. The Earth Kingdom had a lot of their land separately run. Causing each town to basically protect themselves. Unlike the fire nation colonies who even though have more freedom still are under Fire Nation law and protection. Ba sing sa lie to the public and brainwash people. Fire Nation also was more industrial going to the Future with technology. We see how far their technology gets in Legend of Korra. The other Nations were so behind.
Well no the Fire Nation did invade the other nations for power, among other reasons like natural resources to fuel their industrialization, and more land, the "culture" thing is just an excuse, this is very common historically too among imperial nations like the Fire Nation.
@@Dell-ol6hb No. Firelord Sozin said it was for influence. The argument that you say they just use it as an excuse, there no proof of. Maybe for his children but not himself for starting the war.
@@theinsurance2450 Sozin began the war with noble intentions, but it quickly grew into an obsession, he chose to massacre the air nomads because of the chance that the avatar born among them would grow to oppose him because of his betrayal of roku, he unknowingly laid a seedbed of corruption for the next generation of the fire nation because he was blinded by his obsession
You know, I spoiled myself with his backstory. When I started watching ATLA, even tho knowing who he was, he gave off vibes of somebody, who by his face looks determined and honourable. Had I not seen anything I would have thought he was banished cause he failed to stop some rogue firebender who marked him.

I mean… the directors and writers wanted to introduce him like that lol it’s on purpose
@@sup3rAVATARtlafANyea it’s the whole point
That’s why this episode is good
do you want to start giving sympathy for a "bad guy" in your story, introduce a worse one (Zhao, Ozai)
@@sup3rAVATARtlafANto be fair it was obvious to anyone who has a keen eye for good writing that Zuko wasn’t going to be a stereotypical villain
One of the best episode for me, Aang and Zuko flashback
(17:58): I love how everyone notices Azula.
THANK YOU for turning the subtitles back on 👏🏾🙏🏾
19:24 I'm staying here😂😂😂

@@jackofastora8962 So Like I said how the war started.
@@theinsurance2450 yeah, but you ignored the fact that it near instantly became a pretense for world domination like the other guy said
