BMW K1600GT vs. Ducati Panigale

- It's like 7 series BMW - most drivers won't push it very hard. But it's good to know that it's all there - power, handling, brakes. Another memorable ride on K1600GT. BMW Motorrad, please make it lighter or give us K1400S !!!

Stunning machine and seemingly not shy either.
:-) Awesome.
That bike is a bit heavy and you have to wrestle with it a bit but still... it hauls!
How are you keeping my friend?
All you needed was some ABBA. Dancing queen playing at full belt on the speakers. 🎸 😂 great big bike. Love it
Super Trooper would be appropriate as well :-)
1:32, good brakes! What is the generally accepted following distance at those speeds, you guys are pretty tight, if the front guy goes down, you may all go down. Years ago there was a deadly motorcycle accident on the road from Camps Bay to Hout Bay (you know the road ;) ). We had stopped in Camps Bay for ice cream and saw a group of riders come through, later on our way to Hout Bay we saw them again... they had pushed their bikes and hit a slow-moving truck after coming around a blind corner, sadly all were killed.
Beauty of riding with same people is that you know exactly how they will react - like how I waited for Panigale to overtake me first. I have stopped counting on how many motorcycles accidents I have seen - sometimes people are unlucky, other times they're looking for trouble.
Are you missing riding, considering it's a lockdown?
Would you like me to make a video of rather slow, countryside ride?
@@miragegp now, during lockdown, would be the ideal time to ride, especially in Cape Town where the roads have become so congested, one can't even do a constant 120kph anymore on the major highways. I'm considering getting an R1200RT but riding in Cape Town has become pretty limited: Franschhoek, Stellenbosch, coastal road to Rooi Els, maybe Hermanus, Langebaan. One road where one can still open up and not encounter much traffic is between Montagu and Barrydale. Maybe offroad is the way to go, but the older one gets, the harder one falls. :)
Perhaps get a GS, it feels lighter on it's feet than RT. No need to go off road but jumping over speed hump or random kerb is just as fun. I cannot tell you how life changing my accident was, no, you cannot have any falls or broken bones.
Your original video of the GT vs the Panagale was one of my favorites. I wish you would repost it.
I will check if I still have it and repost.
Great video dude. Love the GT.
Me too!
"it's good to know that it's all there". Absolutely, I love my K1600GT :-)
It's a proper machine. I remember when they launched it, that 6 cyl sound, amazing!
Why music
Lots of wind noise at 260km/hr
@@miragegp ok
Good to see you back on 2 wheels man
Pre-accident video mate.
So many bikes wow, yeah no stranger to speed clearly.
I had some practise in the past, yes 😊
How are you coping under lockdown?
@@miragegp clearly yes, it remains busy on our side so we take it day for day thanks for asking, how are you coping ?
Managing, I am much better than before but far from being my old self... my whole system took a serious shunt - pain, stomach, sleeping, eating...
@@miragegp I am so glad to hear you are better, hope you get back to your old healthy self very soon
Not making any promises but by the end of this year I should be able to ride from one coffee shop to the next 🤣.
GT with V6 is super, I have GT 3 weeks and after first kilometers I am very happy ..
Great 👍. However, it's not V6, it's I6 (inline 6).
Cheers Marian.
@@miragegp That is right I6 from you, I have in my head V6 and V8 from my car, my mistake. Tjis engine is realy super :-)
Where are you from?
