We built two S1000RRs with less than $10K engines and one put down 224 WHP at 1,000cc and the other(1140cc) made 248 WHP after a few years of development.
There’s something that you may be missing with the difference in wHp for these two bikes, weight. A bike that’s noticeably lighter and slightly lower Hp can beat a bike with more power. Power-to-weight is an often forgotten ratio.
Don’t forget the wsbk v4r is rev limited Got a family member who was a mechanic for a bsb rider ….wont mention his name ….but he said it’s about 250hp but rev limits put it closer to 240hp
If I had one of that SL it would only be Displayed at home. Too beautiful and a masterpiece to be ridden. The first SL too, the orangy red one. Happy to ride the regular v4r. 😂
The V4R ate the SL’s ass everywhere except for where you’re at only when you’re racing. I’d much rather have the beefy mid and a little less up top any day of the week.

$100k on a single bike is nuts.. gorgeous bike, but a vastly different price bracket to my bikes! My bikes total value could buy 2 Superleggera swingarms 😂
They leave the rearsets alone to save weight.....I know multiple people that have fully custom SL's and they always leave rearsets alone, they weigh nothing compared to flashy aftermarket whatever brand.....the Superleggera, means superlite.....all about weight savings baby. as it should be. Even though the V4R is making more power throughout the line, the SL is WAY lighter, Its not all about numbers. SL would win IMO.
maybe worth mentioning the weight difference. The Superleggera is substantially lighter. all other things being equal (like pilot weight) the Superleggera will exit corners much more agilely.

Ducati has always had a shitty dry clutch that’s noisy as hell. You have the proof little bit of horsepower and shit slipping with low mileage. Built by hand used to be better

More RPM compensate for the lower torque, cause of the shorter gear. SL engine will beat the other
Not just the shorter gear. At higher RPM you have more power strokes per unit of time.

It comes down to how you ride it. My friend did 6000 miles on His Panigale V4 SP2 and dealer check it and said it could go for another 3000 miles.
