I'm also late 30s, never had a license, and passed 3 months ago due in part to watching these videos with very limited car access. Pretending to steer, head check, and use pedals was invaluable with sometimes over a week between being able to drive, just to get my muscles used to the actions. Passed easily.

I took my driving test today for the first time and failed because of a critical error. I was supposed to take a left turn at a 4 way traffic light. For some reason, I blanked out. I merged completely onto the other side of the road where the cars were going the opposite direction. In my head for some reason, I thought I was merging onto a one way direction for all lanes street when I turned left.
Luckily the cars were far ahead, but the DMV worker had to rightfully yell at me and grab the steering wheel so I could merge back onto the correct side of the road. I wasn’t mad that he yelled at me, I’m just disappointed in my critical error which obviously disqualified me. Had it not been for my lack of awareness, I would’ve passed the driving test with only 8 errors. I will use this upsetting experience and learn from it.
i also had a critical error and almost ran the red light because i tried to turn left while in a lane where u could only go straight. but it’s ok, i’m going to take it a second time now that i’ve learned from my mistakes and practiced more :)

My test is this Wednesday and I have back to back finals exams, including the day of my road test 😖 Examiners here in Canada tend to be pretty strict - I am confident, though! Praying and hoping for good results

yeah after the cones I drove for like 5 minutes if that. it was just left and right turns at stop signs. I wasn't even on the main road but a few yards.

I did my driver’s test without any lessons, just practice as well. I drove a lot around the Metro Vancouver area for a year with my learner’s then took the test after the 1 year period. Ended up getting perfect scores, no demerits and no violations!

I’m going to take my permit test very soon, I just need a ride up there and idk who’s gonna trust me with their car, I doubt anyone would, but they have to be at least 21 and up.

Hey man, i came across this channel about a month before my test. My girlfriends was a fantastic instructor and there we're at least 5 things i remembered from your videos that came into great use.
- The instructors scorer sheet made things A LOT easier, especially for the hardware checklist
- The timing of the reverse
- The attention to speed signs
- The awareness to know when to accelerate on main roads
- The need to stay more centered in residential lanes.

I got my almost 24 years ago in mid December 1999. I failed the first test in mid November 1999 but, I did passed the 2nd one. I was 29 years old on the test. I even had my 1st car before the 2 tests. My car was a 1998 Ford Contour SE in light denim blue. I had different vehicles over the years.

I just passed my test today!! But just to mention, your test might not exactly be like it is in the video because mine was 8 minutes long and I didn’t have to do all the extra stuff like I thought I would. So, just take note of that but good luck to anyone who’s taking theirs soon!
went to take my driving test today , turns out my expiration date on my permit was 9/22/22 EVEN THOUGH i received my permit on 6/16/22. The dmv messed up the date on my permit and now i have to pay for it. i have to retake the permit test next week and wait 3 months for the driving test. great.

This is the mood I feel exactly. I have nobody to help me out and if they do it’s only convenient for them. Watching these videos is fine, but I need to be helped out most importantly in real life. I have no vehicle. So somebody please tell me how could I take my road test? I have no driving schools in my local area.

You can contact a driving instructor out of your area but it will cost a little more. I am in a similar, but i contacted an instructor out of my area and fortunately am able to take the test.

I hear and feel your frustration about seeming as if you are alone in getting others to help you with your driving. Perhaps, you can pay someone (10 to 15 dollars) to teach you how to drive for 30 to 60 mins. It is up to you. Please keep watching this driving videos for inspiration. I know they are not substitutes for real driving practice. I pray you find someone patient and kind who will teach and test you. Please keep me posted with your driving status. Dont give up, keep chasing your dreams. God Bless.

i’ve only practiced for 7 hours ever, and haven’t taken any lessons. my test is on monday, so i’ll pass it easily. i’m a self taught driver, with some driving sims and 18 years of watching my mom/people drive intently.

I'm a new Immigrant (2 months old) and my road test is tomorrow. Never had a license before, but I have driven for 5 years though (you usually don't need a license in the country where I'm from😂).. for some reason I'm not nervous at all about tomorrow. They give you 2 chances to fail the test why the stress. I know you would say but you know how to drive, well, yes and no. I can technically guide the car where I want very well, with pretty advanced maneuvers if I want to, but strict traffic laws are foreign to me (thanks to my shit hole country) so I might still lose points here and there, for example, a complete stop??? We never do that in my home country unless you have no other choice 😂 cuz we believe over stopping can wear out your brake pretty fast, so we would rather slow down a lot until we are clear to go. Another thing is having to constantly check for the blind spot when changing lanes, well in my country we would just glide to the other lane very smoothly and slowly and we think that will give enough time to whoever is in the blind spot to react ( we would still check the blind spot when turning or aggressively changing lanes. Also, right of way??? dude I just see an empty spot and just step on the gas pedal already 😂... wish me luck I could fail tomorrow but I really have zero stress about it.

@Road Test Success thank you, I passed. I went there and after all the procedures in the beginning she asked, do you have any questions? I said yes.. Can I change lanes if i see fit and for a better and smoother ride? she said "nope, you gotta strictly follow my directions".. "borrring 😒", I was thinking.
"OK, Can I cross an intersection on yellow if it's difficult to slow down?" she said, "nope, better manage your speed".
" hmmm! Can I keep my shades?" she said, "yea"
"Will you tell me the speed limit and what not?" she said, "nope"...
Well, honestly she wasn't so happy with me asking, well she wasn't happy with anything, probably the car wasn't clean enough for her 🙄.. i zipped my mouth and said "i'm ready"..
