How did you do the wiring of your sound bar that’s sitting on top of the unit? Is that also through the dry wall to connect both up to the TV and also down to power?
Hi Sarah. Thanks for your video. Appreciate you showing us the ‘guts’! Nicely done. Add some white DAP between the two cabinets along the top and front and that black line will disappear and make it even more seamless. Hope that helps!

You then attach the Besta to that bracket via the brackets you are showing inside the besta. In your case, there would be 5 brackets attached to the wall, one for each opening.

@@ericgaona3951 hello. I will try my best to explain. I don't have pictures unfortunately. So first I decided to elevate the item one foot off the ground. Instead of using the brackets I cut a piece of wood, 1/4(space from back to backing cover) in thick and about 3 inches wide to snuggly fit across the back of the item where the brackets go. The reason IKEA doesn't take studs into consideration is because IKEA is a European brand, and in Europe they build walls out of bricks or concrete. Yes, wooden construction exists, of course, but even then the wall is stable and load-bearing. The whole drywall-where-to-hang-something problem simply doesn't exist for the vast majority of people. Your set up looks great!

I feel like you could use gap filler between the 2 cabinets to get rid of that line across the top and then put the glass back on top. It might make it a bit more seamless 🤷♀️
That would be messy and never look good. Read more at the top, have glass cut, paint one side white, maybe 2 coats with one of those smooth rollers, flip with painted side DOWN.
I think the two chairs facing the windows would open the space visually. The lounge part of sofa on the other side. It just looks closed off and can’t immediately see people approaching. But what ever feels good and safe or is important to the owner is what matters.
Was going to do the same with my ikea frame soon! But if I could recommend, upgrading to a few sets of steel L brackets, those smaller L brackets are for shelves, and are known to bend with too much weight. Won’t notice immediately, but over time the whole piece could sag with too much in the drawers. This looks so good though! A lot like our house is shaping up
@@morgangodfrey3471 - you can buy the Besta Suspension rails which are made to mount the cabinets on the wall. They all interconnect as one long Mount on the wall so you can hit studs where needed.
One way you can hide the line where the two cabinets join together is by getting a piece of glass custom cut to the length and width of the top of the cabinets from your local glass & mirror company. Sometimes they have left over remnants of glass laying around the shop from jobs they've done and they'll sell it to you pretty cheap. You might be able to get it for free, if you tell them your going to give them a shout out in you next video. You can put an extra layer on top of wood, glass...
Where are your chairs from? Love your place, so much inspiration.
Awesome video. I am going to get this exact setup for my new house. Question, how come you didn’t get the best suspension rails for them? They are only 8 bucks? I am just curious if you didn’t use them for a reason?
I used the besta rails and got the same cabinets/ not the tv stand. They mounted fantastic on the rails!
The TV stand does not for some reason
Hi. Where did you get the basket you have on top of your coffee table? It's beautiful!
It's from Serena and Lilly! rstyle.me/+A1fDTLK7FZKmC-w3uEN5-A
Where you buy the plant stand and plant pot in the living room. Your husband did a great job putting the floating cabinets together. 👍
The plant is from Amazon and the Pot is from pottery barn!
Hi, do you happen to have a link to the plant? I'd greatly appreciate it.
I feel like you could use gap filler between the 2 cabinets to get rid of that line across the top and then put the glass back on top. It might make it a bit more seamless 🤷♀️
Definitely worth a try!
Thanks! This set up was temporary until our née couch arrived 🖤
Hi, that looks great. Great installation. Can you tell us how much space is between the floor and the bottom of the cabinet?
Thank you! It’s 10 1/2 inches off the floor 🖤
LOVE THE FRENCHIE!!!!!!
Hey is that a 65" TV ?
Yes ☺️
@@SarahWisted Thank you
May I ask how high the console was installed ? I'm hesitating for mine and yours looks good to me.
love the ikea besta. 👌
Same! I’m sold ☺️
A lot like our house is shaping up
Thanks babe! 🖤
Hi, I'm looking to buy all of this. Would you get those steel brackets from ikea directly or? I can't seem to find anything like that on the website.
@@morgangodfrey3471 - you can buy the Besta Suspension rails which are made to mount the cabinets on the wall. They all interconnect as one long Mount on the wall so you can hit studs where needed.
Looks great now to get my husband to ikea !
Then paint one side of the glass white, put the painted side on the bottom and the top side is going to be a white shinny finish giving you a nice finished surface which is easy to clean and hides the line where the cabinets meet. Basically a hack from IKEAS cabinet glass tops in the color white.
HACK TIP from Hack Man ACE
Wow!! Terrific thinking lots better than a long piece of BROWN wood. I've seen reverse painting done for a backsplash (pictures) so why didn't I think of that? This is way better...no splashes of water of grease...only dust. Congratulations!
Just found your Chanel! And absolutely love the content 🤍 very much my aesthetic
Thank you Trisane!
So glad I found this video, it was so helpful. Thank you! Love your style too.
Oh I’m so glad! And thank you ☺️
What kind of screws are going into the tv unit with the bracket to hold it in place?
Looks great, what did you use as the height/difference between the floor and the bottom of the unit?
