I'm watching you for the first time. I'm impressed! I know quite a few woodworkers that wouldn't attempt cutting cabinet panels without a straight edge. I've been working in the trades for years and I always use a straight edge on panels. Keep up the great work.
Really nice job. I had to stop halfway thru video to suggest you build a workbench as a priority. It saves so much time not to constantly be bending up and down working on the floor. Also as an OG I can attest to how it will damage your knees working on the floors for years...I know. A simple Centipede and plywood sheet will save you lots of time and your knees.
Can you do a vid on sketch up? How did you set up the 3 sided wall? And go from there. Thanks
So talented!! Thanks so much for sharing this. It is just what we needed.
No doubt this is going to be beautiful when it is finished. Love the way you use Ikea products. It makes it easier for some of us less crafty people to be a little hopeful of doing a similar project. Thanks for sharing. 💓
Can't stop being amazed by what you can do. Can't wait for part 2! it sure is gonna be beautiful!
A few problems with this that might have been overlooked.
Had you spaced this off the wall 1" becuse its an outside wall you would gain a air gap and wire raceway for an audio system and wires for hdmi cables and power.
Last I dont see room for larger floor standing speakers or a spot for a center channel, tvs a lot better with a 5.1 surround system.
I’m dying to do something similar, wood is still
So freaking high! Ugh really put a damper on all my projects. This is awesome, thanks for sharing
We also r about to tackle this. Had planned, etched out, marked on concrete wall with tape, so we could get a visual look. Then hubby ended up in hospital . He was in there for 7.5 weeks. 😪😪 wasn't sure he was even gonna make it for a few weeks. But now at home, very ill. Not able to do anything. Still on alot of meds & high L of oxygen. So we have a friend that is gonna assist us. .
With the actual framing. Then gonna trim it with cedar. Should b pretty simple for him. But I have no idea, what or how things have to b. Lol
Thanks for this video.
@@DawnSuCallahan Your lucky In England the wood prices are even higher than USA by about 2x...
Working in a cabinet shop for the time being since real estate is dead, I'm getting a great idea for my own entertainment center - ONE question since you seem to have the exact same table saw as me... best video to square up that fence? Realizing now that a good, squared saw now saves me hours of scribing later, I'd love to use my saw as she wanted to be used, perfectly. Thank you.
As always, it's a real pleasure to admire you building a piece of furniture !!
Thoroughly enjoyed the video. I enjoy the Ikea furniture and your mods were excellent.
Great video! But what is the reason people in the US always place there TV so high in the sky?
Can't wait to see part 2. You are so talented! I love watching your videos!
Awesome project! Wondering if you screw the wood frame base into the floor?
Wow, you make this seem so easy. I have few project I wanna start, but I'm a little scared. But I'm gonna do it, this week.
Do you really just eyeball (no track) your line on the plywood with your circular saw (7:37)? Or are you cutting it slightly larger with the circular and running it through the table saw afterwards (off camera) for a perfect edge? You're video are amazing. Taking on a project and trying to replicate the details of your build techniques exactly
I think Stefani may have winged that cut to save time, because the imperfect cut will be facing the wall anyway and it'll be the panel that'll be the back of the cabinet that touches the wall. Also the wall would be uneven too.
I love this! do you not use pilot holes when screwing wood?
Videos like this make me so excited to move out on my own for the first time and take my home to the next level. Even if I’m renting, I’ll find ways to do cool things like this that won’t be against what’s allowed. I’m just so excited to make my place feel like a home, and creators like you remind me of it all the time :)
There is nothing quite like the excitement of getting and decorating your first place! Good luck and best wishes for a nice landlord!
Love it and cannot wait for episode 2 of this project.
What a great idea for this space! Still trying to decide what design I am going with for my entertainment center
This is so awesome!!!
Hi Stefani,
This is a big project for sure yet you are handling like a pro,
Can wait to see the next video.
I just love watching you work, you are so talented ❤️
Great videos! I do have a question about using pockets screws on you benches instead of screwing through the bottom plywood into the 2x12's.
I don't have a pocket screw jig, but thinking I need to get one. Thanks
This is such a great video! I'm really glad I came across it. I recently purchased that same besta unit and started planning building an entertainment center but I have no building experience and wasn't sure how to tackle the project. After watching this video I'm pretty confident I can do something very similar. The only thing is that I don't own or have access to some of the tools you have like a nail gun or a planner since I don't ever have the need to build anything at all.
I tried looking at the ikea website for the besta unit. Can’t seem to find it. Would you be able to link it
This looks amazing already!!! I am not yet skilled enough to take on these kinds if projects but I hope to be soon.
You're not only pretty you're smart too, good job.
Looking awesome, can't wait to see it finished 💕
nice floor finish u have there. Any video on that flooring?
OMG Just in time... thanks so much!
excellent, you are the best, greetings from Peru
Great project! I love the combo of using ikea and building your own pieces. I'd love to know what brand of planer you use!
Thank you so much! I use a Rigid planer 👍 bit.ly/3hLDk5g
Little confused about the extension cord holes but guess I'll wait for part 2. Looks like everything is well planned out. Stay healthy and we'll see you soon.
Where she added blocking to space the cabinet off the wall, she out holes in each block to pass a cord up to the top of the cabinet for lighting or whatever she wants to plug in. She forgot to show putting a hole in the bottom for the cord to actually get to the outlet (at least for the left side)
Looks awesome!
You go girl!
Nice project you're a hard worker
Awesome 👌 great watch
🤩😍 me enamore de la constructora y su trabajo!!❤👌👏
Looks great!
Wow, incredible work.
two questions:
1) What kind of planer is that? does it work well?
2) Are you getting your wood from a big box store? or a local lumber yard?
what application do you use to render an excellent project congratulations
SketchUp!🙌
Just curious why not move the outlets themselves instead of notching holes into the unit? Especially the one on the bench. They’ll have to loop a cable around to use it. Could have moved it up above the bench and the one in the tall unit just over a few inches either to the other side of the stud or the neighboring stud. I know you’d be great at it. Even if you had to add some 12-2 cable you’re a bad ass and could totally do this.
Good work salute from spain
Nice...No safety Gears though 😳
what version of SketchUp did you use? the online free or the paid one?
Great, but why did you build the wood base under? Thanks
You are awesome 😎
I would like to have you to come build a home entertainment unit for me and I like your videos alot stepfani 🌹
Fun drinking gama: shot for every time she says entertainment center 🤣
Great job
You have far more confidence in yourself w that caulk gun than I do in myself, applying the LocTite glue so near the edge of the bead board while the board’s lying on that nice area rug. 😄
Amazing 👏
@ 1:33 all I can see is a Koala; :) lol-sorry. Great video and very informative!!! Sketch up program was also something I had never heard about
What type of wood did you use for the countertop??
👍 brave girl 🙏
What’s the name of the software
Do you recommend the ryobi table saw is it accurate ?
I love watching you work on your projects! You must be so proud when your in-laws say, "Our daughter-in-law built that!" when someone asks about their beautiful new entertainment center. BTW, are those Loctite products new on the market? Don't think I've ever seen clear construction adhesive - nice! Oh, when you said you were using a 'dolly' to help you move stuff I thought for sure you meant your hubby! ;-) Keep up the good work.
Woww absolutely best Hack idea... 🖤👌🏼💯I am MR SRI channel from Sri Lanka, I like your video as an inspiration for me...Keep going❤👌😍
Waw. Superwoman 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
woooou nice i would like my place in room
what is the planner program you used called??
1:23 looks like a koala
Stefani did a great job, but the real talent is hubby standing at the precise angle on the 2x6's to allow the proper fastening of the boards together.
Hi, I'm from Russia, and I really like looking at your work. You're such a beautiful and smart girl. Looking at you and your work, I get great pleasure. I want to wish you success and happiness.
12:07 God bless you (be healthy) (Будьте здоровы)😀

The simple Gospel is to trust in the shed Holy Blood of Christ Jesus. BELIEVE in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the Gospel! 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4 which is the Gospel tells us that we are saved by trusting in the Lord Jesus death, burial, and resurrection. Ephesians 1: 13-14 says that we are sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise until the day that God redeems us. Ephesians 2: 8-9 is clear in that we are saved by grace through faith and not by our works or by what we do or do not do..
What is color of walls please?
Your names got fanny in it
12:06 Bless You!
TV too high
Why is it called Ikea Hack when all you do is use Ikea furniture not to mention the fact that just looks like a whole bunch of storage shelves around a medium-sized TV I don't know that I would call that an entertainment center
So the "diy hack" is just buying from ikea without paying for assembly?
That's alotta wood
Your voice it's like zuzka ,🤔🤔🤔
why you buy ikea? all of cabinets you can diy
Rooms is bigger then my house
The TV is mounted too high
Why is the video so small and glitchy
I respect the women blogger who diy, s/o Ann White. One thing I don’t understand with DIYers is why not get trained/study traditional finish carpentry and ditch the big box store and Ryobi sponsor strive and start to buy from local lumber yards, supper local business/not “big corporations”, then you use IKEA cardboard. I RESPECT your hussle, however the diy community is such a disinformation/hack quality, built to last standard. Lemme explain, EVERY SINGLE DIY’er who’s trying to make a living posting content, is quick to disregard their personal time when it comes to savings…..”we got a bid from a licensed bonded carpenter and he wanted $5k. So we diy and saved $3k in labor” mmmmm, NO! You did the work for 1st time, it took 3 weeks longer, the house was in complete shambles. Since you lack the 20yrs of knowledge a pro, you don’t even have a clue the scale/options you have, instead you sourced materials from big box corp. the worst not wood, cheapest everything, a true professional gets materials at a discount and can work through situations with the bat of eye, (that’s the majority of what we do) and since you “saved” so much, 1st time installing the quality control isn’t in check! I know we got a bad reputation, however when you say things like “you should hire a pro electrician if you don’t know what your doing or comfortable moving wires”….I could only hope a reasonable respectful DIY’er understands RUclips isn’t a place where professionals are spending their day teaching proper centuries old tried and true practices to help the “all knowing” 2nd time doing video showing mentality! Please head over to “this is carpentry” Gary Katz will do a better job of helping you understand how bad these practices/principles hurt the passionate all adult lifetime learning, teaching building carpenter/builder/craftsman, once you get away from the Interneter YT cult bubble, you’ll start to understand and hopefully learn apprentice your very good, hard work to a more quality and trade standard, these practices in Japan is called culture, in America “big corp” and money signs has blinded the entire Interneter landscape! I’ll send you some links in a reply to this. Seriously you do great work! But like I’ve said to Ann White before, evolution comes when generations become more knowledgeable and have better resources and have learned all they can from the ones before them. In American Interneter YT diy land we’ve hit an all time low! No offense! This isn’t directed at you, at all, it’s at the entire movement and “influencer” “DIY” saves so much, we just hide the fact, we don’t consider our time of any value.
ssssssssssssssssssssssss is all i hear thru her speech... i'm sorry can't stand hearing it.
I love your videos but this one was all about shoving these products down our throats. Every 30 seconds, "PL this and PL that." Yikes. Talk about product advertising...
At 1:18 I felt like I was looking at a koala 🐨
Great job.
