There are plenty of theory nerds out there like myself who just love this stuff. My friends think I’m a little kooky because I read theory books for fun. I also love watching videos of people discussing how gear is built. He’s got lots of followers so I guess I’m not alone. He’s doing a service for people. It cost a lot of money for an education like this. I agree if your style is blues based he probably isnt for you. But if you are into Prog, Fusion, Jazz or classical its great stuff. I went back to playing standards this summer and feel that he has helped me grasp a better understanding of some issues, especially analyzing and harmonization. But I agree some of the stuff is a little over the top. To each his own.

An when I heard that very statement I took upon myself to teach an learn this an many other statements on music theory coming from him. So dont thtough stones at the teacher, rather hold the student to higher accountability!
Honestly it’s not that difficult, he’s using scales to play over chords. It sounds difficult because he’s playing fast and using inversions but anyone can take the basic ideas of using scales and seeing what you can do with them on your instrument

Some Instructors--especially of Advanced Material (in ANY Field of Study)--feel that The Student should either Already know how to Learn, or should immediately Begin to Learn how to Learn on his/her own, **BECAUSE THAT IS A SUPER-IMPORTANT PART OF THE ENTIRE PROJECT!** **When I taught under-grads, I Thought that "Learning how to Learn!" was/is so important, that I took The Time and Energy to Teach it--and offer at least one way to Learn The Material! I Felt **TREMENDOUS!!** About Doing That For My Students! 😊

Rick Beato the guy that shows you new scales but only lets you hear the first and last note cuz the rest are nanoseconds apart.
If you can understand everything Rick is trying to teach, you no longer need lessons. His lessons are definitely for advanced and beyond.
