Wow! This just blows my mind every single time I listen to it. It is so pure and a little "haunting" as well. I don't have the right words to explain it... it just blows me away.
A question that has always been unanswered for me is why are the most skilled and talented people like him prone to behaviour that destroys them, like drug abuse.
I think it has to do with a lot of people that can lay their soul bare are suffering inside from some unseen depression or constant internal battle. The drugs and/or alcohol help take off the edge. Plus, once you make it to this level, everything you could ever want and more is right there for the taking.
Well I know this album...and I remember this song from when I was 8 or 9-years-old...after my poodle Gi-Gi died in the back seat of our car on a camping trip. I cried my eyes out over my dog and this song played...a lot...on the radio from Maine to Jersey. You guys play ALL of my soul songs I love you!!!
