Just got hit with a huge blast of nostalgia, I watched the Top Ten Horrors 2019 last year, and remember sitting in a restaurant watching it. That was before the dark times began. Good memories
Very close in top 3. Angler at 52, Gravecrawler at 51 and Lifebane Zombie at 50. Lifebane Zombie is fascinating to me. From 2011 to 2012, Vapor Snag was the premier removal spell in Standard in the WU Delver deck. So WOTC printed Thragtusk in M13 as anti-Vapor Snag tech (despite the fact that Vapor Snag was about to rotate). Well it turns out that Thragtusk was the best creature in Standard over its entire lifespan, so WOTC printed Lifebane Zombie in M14 as anti-Thragtusk tech (despite the fact that Thragtusk was about to rotate!) Well it turns out as Nizzahon said that Lifebane Zombie was perfectly maindeckable as not only could it snipe Polukranos or Courser of Kruphix, but it could also nab multicolour cards like Judge's Familiar, Ghor-Clan Rampager or Obzedat. Because of one accidentally pushed card in 2011 (Vapor Snag), Standard was warped until October 2014 when M14 rotated. Oops.
Without watching the video, I can confidently say: I’m disappointed Undead Alchemist didn’t make the list. He just barely beats out Scarab Boi as my favourite Zombie.
I'm surprised how low scoring this list is for the most part. I'd have expected they'd be a lot higher given how many there are. I'd be interested to see the token version of this list.
