Slightly underwhelming creature type; considering how broken blue cards can be, its interesting that these iconic blue creatures are mostly too fair to see play outside of standard/block
I especially appreciate this list, as I created an unesh, criosphinx sovereign Sphinx tribal commander deck, and I think that the power level of that commander deck is thoroughly underrated.
Top 10 suggestions: 1. Top 10 1 mana counterspells (NOT 1 CMC, but could use that anyway) 2. Top 10 free spells (0 CMC, Phyrexian mana, pitch spells, spells that untap lands equal to the mana cost, etc) 3. Top 10 hatebears
My old play group would often play large casual multiplayer games where boards would be massive and life totals sometimes reaching well into the hundreds, I always built weird decks that capitalized on games with multiple players and such a deck was a Temur White deck that had Consecrated Sphinx and Elixir of Immortality to loop my yard to keep drawing insane amounts of cards so I could gain life off of Horizon Chimeras, make HUGE Chasm Skulkers to sac with Mercy Killing to make loads of tokens that would come into play to to trigger old Purphoros that I could then sac with Descent of the Dragons (along with anything really scary my opponents had), and then all would come into play with haste and +2/+0 because of Ogre Battledriver.. it worked perfectly every time in magical Christmas land 🤣🤣

I always have a special place in my heart for Sphinx of Magosi because it serves as reusable card draw/win cin for infinite mana.
I shove it in every low powered and even not-that-low-powered EDH deck.
I have one in my cimmander deck
Me too, it's a win condition for my casual control deck.
Lesson of the Video: Sphinx might be the iconic creature but Blue has had better win-con than this creature type.
Just play other color cards
If I must go through the trial of the sphinx to watch a Nizzahon video, then I shall.
Nice to see a list where i have 8 maybe 9 out of 10 of the cards mentioned. Sphinxes, demons and hydras are 3 of my favorite creature types.
I've never seen it come up, even in EDH, but Consecrated Sphinx is my favourite punisher for an opponent's Notion Thief.

Glad to hear it!
Sphinx of Jwaar Isle/ Conundrum Sphinx is a personal favorite in terms of Sphinx combos.
You should add card costs from Card Kingdom. Even if you don't say the cost. You should make it visible.

Have Unesh, criosphinx sovereign be your commander. It is such a good payoff for playing monoblue sphinxes

Yes, Up date with D.T and in fact, Dream Eater with rescuer sphinx and a Elsp con death. um, very good in standard.

Merry Sphinxmas everyone & don't forget to watch out for Goblin Snowmen :)
Unesh is my favorite commander, so I love Sphinxes!
Kinda surprised glyph keeper didnt show up.
Isn't Jace the iconic creature?
I always think Prognostic Sphinx has giant teeth then I realize its his beard.
Dr_SupaFry Now that is all I see
Sharuum might eventually get more points in Legacy if they keep printing cards that make 4 Horsemen a deck that you can actually legally play.
Sphinx cards are rather costly, but in Commander they can be manageable. Also, Unesh is a solid commander choice for the tribe.
Unesh is annoying as hell because how much it slows the game. Having multiple FoFs happening EVERY TURN gets really slow lol
