- Mopar drag race action going down! Lots of dodge darts in this one! I was drag racing my 1968 Dodge Dart and my buddy had his 1970 Dodge Dart swinger pulling the tires with big wheelies all day! Both are small block mopar powered.

Big Nostalgia race at Beaver Springs Dragway Pa 9th 10th 11th . We will be there with are Max Wedges. Be there or be square !!!!!!! LOL
That’s really far away. Thanks for watching
Keeping old school racing alive.... thank you brother!
Thanks for watching bro!
Bravo Joe《☆》Nice payout for 2nd Congratulations👍I had a 68 Notchback Barracuda sweet car & big turnout for⛾Mopars🤳🌴🎱☮🔊🖖👍
👍🏻 thanks buddy!
Great job. Now you will have the target on your back. 👍
I love it. Thanks for watching
Ah, the good old days. Drag raced for 30+ years racing Mopars. From 70 swinger 340 4 speeds to a 66 barracuda 340 4 speed/ auto and everything in between. GL!
Right on man! Thanks for watching
Great job ! Glad to see all your hard work is paying off ! Cheers !
Thanks bro 👍🏻
Hell ya brother! You are looking nice and relaxed in the car. Great video 🙏🏻
👍🏻 thanks bro
Street and Strip is the best! Much more fun than a trailer car. Excellent video racing with the Mopar friends.
Most people run the 2 step off the break pedal, try it off the pedal and at a lower launch rpm, if you allow the converter to flash it should leave harder. Just don’t run the 2 step on a button connected to the line lock to hold the car, made that mistake.
Love the channel, great work.
Thanks but I’m setting it up for a transbrake. So I’ll leave it on a button. I have tried to flash converter, see vids from last year, it leaves the best at 4500. Thansk for watching.
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop understand, it’s the way to go in pro. I had the same setup power/trans/rear end/suspension with a 5200 converter, went 1.53 60’ at mission. Not street driven, Good luck
Nothing broke too. Perfect day.
No doubt I drove it home!
And your front wheels are some of most beautiful ive ever seen.
It's a lot of fun just watching you have fun with a great car!!!
Thanks bro I appreciate it! Thanks for watching
Great job again! That’s really cool you have payouts for such a small group of cars. My track in Sonoma California is barely hanging on. They do Wednesday night drags and the one NHRA national a year. All the other weekend drag races canceled. Sad.
That’s too bad for sure. Ya I guess 30-32 car field and I got 150$ for second. Don’t know what first got. Thanks for watching bro
I love your channel man, that dart is so bad ass 👍👍👍👍👍✅✅✅✅✅♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Thanks bro! Thanks for watching. 384 feet
Thought for sure you'd get two in a row. Consistency pays off. My best week racing with my 340 Duster was I won on Sunday at a big cash bash event At Dragway 42. 3 days later at Summit Raceway Park I won their Super Stock Eliminator and 3 days later 4 place at Thompson Drag Raceway. About $600 in one week!! That was 1975 so it was good money back then. Winning is fun!!! Mopars rule!
Wow ya that’s a great pay out. Thanks for watching bro
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop I even beat my buddy Joe running a 69 Dart Swinger 340 in the finals! Bragging rights forever! That was the only time we ever got matched up. I really miss those days. Glad to see 50 years later the same cars are racing! I don't think these new cars will be running in 30 years once all those computers crap out!
Loving that red Dart, looks & sounds incredible! Well done man:)
Doing great hang in there
You got it👍🏻
Prize money won't buy a new dragsrer but pays for the day; shouldn't ask for much more than that for a great day at the track, and good to see those older mopars.
Some good runs 👍
Love the car brother
Thanks bro!
just watched the last four videos, great job on your first two race days of the season. changed my mind, with your rear race slicks and no caps, definitely no caps on front. looks great!
Hahah right on. Ya I kinda like it too. Thansk for watching
Your car sounds great Absolutely LOVE it when you clear it out after burn out ! So nasty , and dang forgot how sick the green swinger is what episode was that ? Anyway congrats on taking home more money ! 👍
Oh yeah and , I forgot to mention it till I was on third watch of this episode ! A Body Heaven right there 5 or six in a row ! Keep having a blast !
Haha right on my man. Glad you like the vid! The green dart was in my last vid from last year. Short shifting I think. Thanks again for watching bro!
Congrats on a great day
Thanks bro!
Awesome!
Man that's cool. Getting it right.
👍🏻 on going project! Thanks for watching
Another awesome day. If your buddy in the green Swinger didn’t change the rear bumper then it’s a 71. The 70 had single rectangular rear lights. I had a 70 340 dart swinger running 12.5s. I think you need a trans brake if you’re going to run the automatic tranny, it will really let you be more consistent and dial in the launch with better 60 foot times. Mine was a 4 speed with a Mr. Gasket super shifter.
Great day of racing! You are chipping away at the competition this season! Lots of awesome cars there this time around.
Ya it’s getting better evertime. More and more people coming out. First time with out any restrictions so that was great.
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop I see you said that was 384ft track, any plans to run a 1/4 mile track?
Yes. Needed to use a trailer tho as the track is a ferry ride and good distance away.
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop I understand completely I have to trailer all my rigs where I go. Can't wait to see it go down the 1/4 mile strip!
Duddies adventure taco guy ! He needs to feature a cat too , right !
Awesome ✌️
👍🏻
Way to go Joe!
Thanks Bob! See you at the next one!
The early B bodies and 67-71 A bodies are my favorites for drag cars. Slap in a stroked small block or any Mopar big block and pair it with a stout drivetrain and grabby tires and you have a good recipe for success. Great video Joe!
Thanks bud! I agreee!
That green swinger is rowdy
Very Cool Period!
👍🏻
Saludos , siempre es un gusto ver tus videos . Pronto subiré en mi canal un vídeo de mi proyecto Dart 1967 y mis otros mopar ... Love from 🇵🇷
👍🏻🇨🇦
Another good day!
Mosh it up!
Thanks for watching!
I ran a Moroso cool can for a while thinking it was a good idea on hot track days. Old school. I have 1/2 inch hard line from the pump and the cool can had 3/8inch. Took it out. The Dart is rippin.
Ya been thinking about a cool can lately. Thanks for watching
Try making the 1-2 shift sooner, it sounds like it's going past its happy place. It's free to try as well. If you set your shift light at peak HP rpm, buy the time you react and the trans does what it needs to do , you can be as much as 600 over peak hp. I found this out with an electric shift and a data logger. And an electric shift is way more accurate than the human . It's worth a try. Cheers. Love the channel, the car and the racing.
Trans seems to hold the shift even after I make the shift. I was shifting at 6300 (light on) but the trans would sometime hold it til or bang the rev limiter. Soon will be full manual so should have more control. Thanks for watching bro
The Camaro is fast but it’s a very different setup, I’m proud that you hold your own against that car and I suspect you’re going to sneak up on him in the future
Nice job and the car sounds awesome. I think the transmission is hanging up on shifting.👍👍
Ya it’s holds the gear sometime till the limiter. Full manual going in soon
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop Good deal.
Worth bread, and smokes in the frig.
Love it man…!!!👊
You really run with true Gorilla
Car’s 🦍
Right on thanks bro. She hanging in there!
3:15 The Green Bastard! Yes! From Parts Unknown!!!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You need tighter lobe separation more compression and aviation 100 low lead fuel. Your times would then convert to 10.70s or better
Agreed but he drives it on the street. If he did that he would have to start putting it on a trailer. He's on a budget. I would love to see him do that though. I think he's getting a stroker for it soon. Would love to see it more of a race only setup and try to get it at some 1/4mile strips, it looks like he's a really good driver.
Sandy s notch is sweet.
Ya dude. His dart is real sweet too!
Fabulous car 340 is the best
Have you ever raced full 660' eighth mile. Never seen track that short.
👍💪
👍🏻🍻
Great runs, how do you know you are right on your dial in and the finish line?
I saw the display board right as I entered the shutdown. Thanks for watching.
I’ve never drag raced but just watching your videos I notice you heat your tires up differently each time. Sometimes a lot of smoke, other times not as much or any.
Yes different burnouts depending on conditions at the moment. Sometimes trying a small burnout for less heat in tire and such. Thanks for watching
@@SimpsonsSpeedShop all part of the racing game! Also, am I hearing valve float in between the first/second shift?
Not valve float. Rev limiter. Sometime the trans holds the gear even after I shift. Watch dyno vid. You’ll see there’s no valve float in this motor.
Oh the rev limiter. That makes more sense. Too bad it doesn’t shift right when it should. I didn’t pay attention to the time delay between when you shifted and the light coming on.
What length is that Drag Strip ?
Great car, lots of fun,is that a 1/8 mile track or shorter,5.18 seems to fast for that car in the 1/8??
Shorter than 1/8. Thansk for watching
Had me confused, too. I never knew there were tracks shorter than 1/8th.
Weeeeee 🚗 💨
Zip
How high are you turning in in RPMs
Question do you guys have a quarter mile track near you. The 1/8 mile doesn't show what kind of top end your may have. Where I'm from it's quarter mile racing.
This is the only track around. I’m planing a trip to a 1/4 track but it’s far away and expensive to get there. But I do plan on going. Thanks for watching
Want you to post some 10.50 converted times or better to stomp my 10.78. I have to use 100 octane aviation fuel tho because of compression on my 362 windsor in my 70 maverick built 20 years ago. Ide call my car slow today and have parts on shelf for it.
One race does not a season make LOL. What did the Camaro place last week? You are averaging 1.5 so far!
Not first or second. So I’m off to good start.
Have you tried playing with your air pressures? Try to improve your 60ft.
Yes a bit I run them at 10psi. Thanks for watching
Would have loved to see you spank that camaro on a heads up race. Maybe next time. Do you know what hes running in his car
How long is the track? It doesn't even look like an 1/8 mile. That shut down area looks sketchy
Track is 384 feet. Shutdown isn’t as sketchy as video makes it seems. Thanks for watching
It's an easy fix TWO TURBO HEMI
5.18 = 11.40 1/4? What is that? 330 feet?
384 👍🏻
fix the peg leg rear end....during burnouts only drivers side spinning
Is the track 1/8 or 1/4
384 feet I think
@@mikesr3407 that’s weird never heard of a track that goes that long It’s a little stupid but it looks like 330
@@luke736__6 yes the track is Sketch , but that's why they shut down so quick , check last year's vids get a better idea of shut down area ! That being said , it's a track , close , tech guys are cool , his friends are there ! Can't beat it he sets some realistic goals and got there ! 👍👍👍
@@mikesr3407 it’s always good to have cool tech guys wish we had them lol
Mike you nailed it bro. Ya short track but only track. Great group of guys there. I love it.
530 hp ? How my much torque???
I think it was like 480. Check out the dyno vid!
