Today we're taking a look at Stars Align
an underated roblox collectathon platformer game that has ALOT
of promising concepts to look forward to.

Fun fact:
This game is sort of the “successor” to the adventure forward games, it was originally going to be the third one being a along the lines of a fan game as the original creator left the platform. If you want a platformer game that uses Roblox’s basic built in movement system then I think adventure forward is the best one on roblox (or super paper roblox)
they went away from the adventure forward name for a reason, as much of a shame as it is, they dont want anything to do with the original dev (Explode1) as he did some pretty bad stuff
@jinx_gt only the original lead developer did bad stuff, SirRovers and the rest of the team didnt do anything bad, hopefully stars align keeps some of its old charm!

Stars align used to be a fangame for an old roblox story game known as Adventure Forward.
originally trying to continue the story of it and clear up loose ends.
unfortunately, said fangame was cancelled and instead became its own thing.
and this is great. it has made itself its own style and that's well... what you said in the video!

i wanna do an honorable mention for SBS (super bomb survival) but once you get everything in the game it gets repetitive, still good and unique game though
that 4th game is called "Times of Change"
Platformer games are cool but are often overshadowed by simpler obby games like Tower of Hell. Roblox has small community of really good obbyists that have mastered roblox's r6 physics engine but are often threated by roblox's plans of "updating" r6.

Not sure if you will, but combat initiation has gotten a MASSIVE update with a new stage and new weapons. I HIGHLY recommend seeing the update as it goes HARD.

I've had that game stuck in my bookmarks to "play later", and I never got around to even trying it. Throughout my time on roblox, I have stopped playing new games or trying the slop because I felt that what I had currently in Fantastic Frontier was fine. For years, I was fine being in that bubble of not being disappointed by other games that are either soulless in design or flops.
I had developed a sense for when something looks unique though, so I kept that favorite on there. Bro I was not expecting you to cover this at the same time I started playing Super Mario Galaxy 1 with my sister again!

you absoulutely NEED to cover block tales sometime, its an actually good turn based game on roblox, still in demo, but absoulutely worth getting a spotlight

While watching this I remember the Roblox Egg Hunt 2017 and 2018, man that era were incredible and breathtaking.

you had me intrigued the moment you showed gameplay, the art style looks like a combination between Find Everything and Super Scuffle, which are like THE TWO MOST UNDERRATED GAMES ON THE WHOLE PLATFORM, definitely going to play this soon

Roblox doesn’t really want an identity anymore. Not just 1, at least. I often use “The Oasis” from Ready Player One as an example of what I think Roblox is trying to achieve. It wants to be the “one-stop shop” for anything you’d want to do on the internet.

you gotta try out Detriment, it's a fast paced adventure parkour-platform game with a pretty interesting story. it's pretty good for a demo and its hella underrated, have never heard many people talk about it but it deserves some recognition too!!

Years ago I used to make fan art for a game that I believe had affiliation to this game (I’m 100% sure of this because the discord server was revamped for stars align) and I actually played the early version of stars align like 2 years ago or something like that. I completely forgot about it and this video reminded me. (Btw the game I played was adventure forward 2)

Great video that really takes a minute to focus on the now and future of the project that's really appreciated. Course it has a long history, but people tend to focus a bit more on the past than the present and future at times. For the music work and design philosophies I had with the game, I always focused on broader inspiration, and primarily at not limiting myself to it simply being a "Roblox game." I always approached it as a full indie, and so that's where I took a ton of my inspiration from, bringing unique ideas and feelings to the music side of things was my massive focus. I know DM Dokuro was one of the main music artists that inspired My work, and in terms of figuring out how to help and provide thoughts on other areas of the game, I Ended up deep diving into the realm of indie platformers with things like Demon Turf, Sami Roll, and other games. To me, The primary purpose was simple, Make the best damn game we could, and prove that there was still creativity and talent present on the platform.
I also think this game is amazing, and personally it connects to me really well since I loved playing A Hat In Time, as well as some Mario games and Adventure Forward and playing it reminded me of all those times playing those games, having so much fun in these colorful worlds. I am so glad that Stars Align exists and it doesn’t care about the algorithm, giving it no limits to speak of. Can’t wait to play the full game… whenever it comes out.

People tend to ask me why I still play Roblox. I know most of the content is slop served to children, and I hate it as much as the next guy.
But its beautiful passion projects like Stars Aligned. That's why I play, wonderful games full of love and personality, something you struggle to find in even normal mainstream games.

I really like stars align because it’s a solo game mostly. Because most other games on Roblox that are very unique are mostly fighting or in certain aspects you need other to play like critical strike before it stopped updating. It’s really fun to. :>
fun fact: this was originally meant to be a sequel for a game series called Adventure Forward, i highly recommend playing the 2nd game btw, it's brilliant
It's nice to see passion projects that you can tell have soul put in, unlike most of the cashgrab games that are everywhere.
another amazing example of a great quality platformer on roblox with a charming and lovely art style is Microwave Dinner, it's still in development a little bit but has released a few stages and has a lot of cute and interesting mechanics, not to mention it contains cosmetics but a good chunk of the Actual Cosmetics like hats and all that that you can unlock in the game you can unlock just by playing, it contains purchasable full body colour cosmetics you'd have to pay for but it doesnt shove them in your face or down your throat, in fact you dont even really realize too much where the pay to get cosmetics are because they're pretty well tucked away from the main gameplay and its loop, but it has such a cute and endearing art style, fun mechanics that allow for practice and mastery to pull off sick af moves, and what seems to be a very tame and normal player base

Among the underrated innovative games on roblox id say Flood Escape 2 stands out the most out of the standard parkour obby games.
It made me very upset when it got 3rd place at the innovation awards program which was really just a popularity contest.
It wouldve gotten 4th place if a random filler game no one heard of was added.
Flood Escape 2 has an incredible amount of map developers and music composers making some incredible looking maps which eccentric vibes, like checkout the map "amphibious billow" and "Lilac Valley"

This game looks SO perfect in almost every way possible, and it also comes out a day before my birthday! A perfect birthday gift!

This is a small part of the vid but as an adult sometimes I feel ashamed abt playing Roblox but it truly is the most accessible way to play a whole library of different games for *mostly* free or fully free if you chose. It’s dope
A HAT IN TIME WAS MENTIONED WOOOO I HAD A FEELING
When this video released, I was so hyped! I waited for years to play this. And the game is AMAZING! The quality, the style, the graphics, the mechanics, everything was perfect. And it was originally the third Adventure Forward game. Investing into the lore of Adventure Forward: Star Savior, it was supposed to into the lore of the last guy in the extra symbols levels. And also maybe Celesteal since that guy is basically the man’s vessel. Unfortunately, the series got cancelled and turned into Stars Align. But when it was first released, it was amazing. The boss fight, the mechanics, everything was great. And now this. Just perfect. PERFECT! I can’t wait for the full game.

You should cover an obscure game called defend the statue the np edition. It's kind of akin to the fighting games that you've covered just instead your defending...a statue. Also you should do colors in question with your therapist. It's a fun puzzle game.

Stars Align really reminds me of Psuedoregalia (which is a REALLY good thing) I'll for sure check this out. Also glad to see you come from the ashes of jojo content creation for something much more innovative (I am still a jojo game addict please help)
Also for more extremely good games like this while it doesn't quite have the same feel to Stars Align, Robot 64 really captures the feel of playing Mario 64 through roblox, and is fully compatible via controller. And Pyrite Adventure 2 is a great way to get a somewhat similar feel to the SA1 gameplay (Pyrite Adventure 3 although I haven't played the demo looks extremely ambitious and may end up being the definitive "sonic" game on roblox.)

Platformers, especially extremely well made ones, have always been my jam on Roblox.
Adventure Forward, both 1 and 2, were and still are amazing games with vibrant worlds and creative design.
JToH is my current favorite, being a tough platformer focused on difficulty and inventive mechanics.
TDTNTOR and it's sequels were simple but told a good enough story.
Robot 64 is the one the most people probably remember for reasons need not be said.
And Stars Align is soon to be another in the great hall of Roblox Platformer fame.

robot 64 and super paper roblox are two amazing platform games as well, with r64 focusing more on gameplay and spr focusing more on story.
