Elvis and John Denver were surrounded by the best musicians wo ever lived. Great James Burton and thanks for sharing your talent with John. From Chile, Carolina...
Elvis was such a sweetheart a a great singer a intertainer. he's timeless. I wish I could been at this Hawaiian concert he looked gorgeous here in 1973.
to all that would make comparisons.....that just can't be done...this was a special group of players with a special singer, at a special time...don't do anything but enjoy it...
I saw the TCB Band perform in Sydney with Elvis on the big screen. It was a wonderful concept and incredibly emotional when the show started with the Odyssey overture morphing into CC Rider and Elvis appeared on the screen. The audience cheered as if he were really there, so devoted were his fans. Only Elvis!
The TCB Band is incredible, the way Elvis and his band blended together musically on stage was like a religious experience. His backup singers are the best in the world as well. The Sweet Inspirations, The Imperials, The Jordinares, J.D. Sumner and The Stamps. They have the best voices in the world!
Elvis was at his very best with the "Aloha" broadcast...it was a triumph of the will, 6 gun showdown at high noon, vindication for his past mistakes...let's face it, he was the first & the best for all time.
This is faster than other people who covered the song. I love it. The band is still great in the current shows that you see here. I loved the bass guitar solo. Last week I recorded Johnny B. Goode. I rocked it singing & playing bass guitar, and I even did the solo behind my head. I want to do this for America's Got Talent on the 1st week to be judged. It's my featured video right now. I hope you'll check it out and like it. Take care.
James Burton is god with the guitar! He still plays on the Elvis' anniversary concerts. I so fucking wish I was born in the 50s so I could enjoy the 60s and 70s. Rock on guys!
Any guitarist that can keep up with Chet Adkin is one hell of a great guitarist. Like Albert Lee, Roy Clark and so forth. The early days of Country, blues, Rhythm and blues, Gospel, Rockabilly changed everything. Put it all together you get Rock and roll dating before the 1950s then in the 50s the new up beat known as rock and roll came to be.
George J McHugh.I think that was one failing Elvis had in his live shows in the 70 rushing through the rock n roll so he could get on with the ballads he so much favored at this point.
100% Ronnie Tutt (drummer) came along and gave it an extra boost of energy on stage which Elvis and Ronnie worked as a team to give that extra kick which worked and pleased the crowd more. We were lucky to have Ronnie said Elvis. I couldn't agree more said James.
Hey! I know you replied about 6 months ago, but I just found this particular video and saw your comment. I read somewhere one time that James Burton actually uses banjo strings on his guitar. I read it allowed him to bend his strings easier and bend them farther. Maybe you might want to try that?
In this video, Elvis musicians are stars of the show, each of them earned a real big applause.
Have you ever check out James Burton on lead? The absolute best telly guy
Did you notice how, at 2:30, Elvis acknowledged the drummer? That's what a leader does.
The Voice of the king and a fantastic guitar player like James!
james burton is and still is the bestever electric guitar player no one can do it better than him
Wow! They were sounding awesome. I love to hear James play on this one.

Elvis was such a sweetheart a a great singer a intertainer. he's timeless. I wish I could been at this Hawaiian concert he looked gorgeous here in 1973.
I remember seeing it in 73 in San Diego. I think it was live TV from Hawaii
to all that would make comparisons.....that just can't be done...this was a special group of players with a special singer, at a special time...don't do anything but enjoy it...
When Elvis needs a guitar player and Elvis says your're the man, you're the man
Rock n roll and Elvis at his best.
Cannot argue with that.

we should all donate a day or year of our lives, depending on our largesse, to the fates.... just so Elvis and the boys could live forever....
Elvis was at his very best with the "Aloha" broadcast...it was a triumph of the will, 6 gun showdown at high noon, vindication for his past mistakes...let's face it, he was the first & the best for all time.
Amo a los músicos de Elvis... Todos tienen impregnado un poco de Elvis en sus almas... Bendiciones para todos ellos

un gran señor de la fender telecaster,
wooooooow great
play james.gran guitarra.exelencia.
Cudowny Elvis !❤
Who's idea was it to have all those back up singers on this song. Burton is on fire
The '73 footage captures Elvis' band, singers and orchestra. Almost everyone in the "live" segment played with Elvis when he was alive.
James Burton is a hall of fame musician.....he was an early session guy(50's and 60's), and played with Dale Hawkins, Rickie Nelson, and Elvis.
Loved and respected by the best of the best! How great is that?!
He played with Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, Wanda Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, so many others, including the Byrds, and the Monkees
and something else just as important, he helped create the Bakersfield Sound.
JAMES BURTON...NEVER MISSED A NOTE...BRILLIANT...
ESTE GUITARRISTA É FENOMENAL, DE UMA SIMPLICIDADE IMPAR, E ALTAMENTE EFICIENTE EM SEUS SOLS DE GUITARRA.....JEFFERSON WILLIAMS
James Burton and Elvis!

Świetne nagranie:):):)
That was great..when was this performance with the TCB band ?
JAMES BURTON..THE BEST..
Wow this is an unexpected surprise!!!! good one though!!!
If the voice had a name that would be Elvis.
R.I.P Rick Nelson
James Burton aka The Professor!
Ronnie tutt is great as well
Rhythm a little fast. Especially for Elvis who liked to string his voice out a little. James Burton superb as usual.
Agree i think it would have sounded better a bit slower Elvis was sort of racing through it.
George J McHugh.I think that was one failing Elvis had in his live shows in the 70 rushing through the rock n roll so he could get on with the ballads he so much favored at this point.
It simply cannot get better than this....... Loved it :)
Ricky Nelson's original Guitarist
after Ricky,James is in HIGH demand,he plays for ALL the BEST...shit...this is ELVIS when does it get better?
100% Ronnie Tutt (drummer) came along and gave it an extra boost of energy on stage which Elvis and Ronnie worked as a team to give that extra kick which worked and pleased the crowd more. We were lucky to have Ronnie said Elvis. I couldn't agree more said James.

James Burton plays Ricky Nelson's Travelling Man,he's the best guitarist.
u own this clip?
is that Joe English on drums?
Ronnie Tutt
YES! (Does a fist pump) Perfection. Do I need to say more?
Elvis DID meet Zeppelin. Swapped a ten grand rolex with Peter Green for his Mickey Mouse watch.
+Kevin Webb Correction: Zeppelin met Elvis.
not nearly as loud as ELVIS's best early stuff.the guitar and bass should be louder. I think he's high.
But Elvis does his best.
:)
miti
James burton fait le boulot remarquablement; à coté Elvis fait figure de jeunot frimeur...mais ce n'est que mon avis..
PLAYED WITH -ELVIS ,HOLLY ,ORBISON , NELSON ,AND YOU CALL THAT
PREETY GOOD HMMMMmmmmm
The only moment..James actually kinda took the show from Elvis...lol..and showed his ass..
Elvis will never touch chuck berry with this version
Elvis thinking damn my guitarist for a white boy plays extremely well. You can tell by his look lol.
+korgpa4x korg Never seen anything but a white man play that style of guitar.
Escape the Matrix The tune lol not the guitar.
