Most of their production crew was sitting right there on stage. Geoff, (Jeff) the bass, did the arrangement on this one, along with the creative design and direction. Layne, the beatbox/violinist (aka, VioLayne), did the video editing. The production manager for all of their performances is Cathy Castellucci, Geoff's wife. No one gets between them and their product. No label, no manager. They think of each of their performances as an art piece, and it shows. Some are pretty crazy/slap stick/silly - some are epic. All are beautifully done. They are based in Orlando. They release roughly once a month. Check out their cover of Creep. You won't regret it.

One of the most unique things about VoicePlay is they DO share the lead more than not. It is rare to only have one person on the lead.
And the lowest note Geoff sings in THIS song is about 41 hertz. (E1)
The lowest he's sung (sustained pitch) is about 31 hertz (B0) in their covers of the Halo theme and Valhalla Calling.

@@jimmysmusicreactions7030thank you for a priceless reaction to Voice Play. I am a new subscriber. Would you please do a reaction video to Voice Plays cover of Hell Fire from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Geoff takes the lead as the evil Minister Frolo but they all take turns in the part. This is typical of Voice Play so they all have a chance to shine in all their videos. You will truly get a taste of Geoff's vocal range in this one. He is the bass in Voice Play.

While I have no idea what the analytics look like, one thing I do know is that VoicePlay has a deeply loyal online following who are quite happy to interact with pretty much all reaction videos of the group. The reason they are last to the a cappella party on your channel- and most reactor's channels, to be honest- is that they have always been 100% independent, and have therefore never benefitted from the promotion that PTX and Home Free have received in the past. Those two had their names really pushed out there, while VoicePlay have been grinding away at their craft- arrangement, performance, promotion, videography, ligjhting, etc- since 1997. They have no label or agent- the closest thing is Geoff's wife, Kathy, who serves as the group's manager in that she handles a lot of the behind the scenes work. While J. None is the featured artist in this video, he was once a full time member before leaving to sing for the US Navy. He still features whenever he has leave, and many hope he'll return to the group once his stint is up. Cesar- the breathy baritenor to the right of center- was actually J. None's replacement, although they've proven through the course of several videos that they work beautifully together. Technically speaking, VoicePlay is missing their high tenor; Earl Elkins Jr., a founding member of the group like Geoff and Layne- the vocal percussionist of the group- left in 2020 for personal reasons. His absence has allowed former tenor 2 (now tenor-whatever he wants to be) Eli (rhymes with 'jelly') Jacobson to really shine, and lately the guys have been encouraging him to dig deeper into the rock-god grit of his voice (he used to front a rock band). Other than these folks, you'll see a lot of different faces because VoicePlay love collaborating, and are happy filling in the empty slot in their roster with loads of talented singers. Who knows, you might even catch a familiar face or two.
So that's VoicePlay. And regardless of whether or not your analytics react big in the first month, I hope you'll persevere reacting to VoicePlay regardless. Partially because I truly believe that once word gets out, that you will see a strong response on the videos (proper labeling and hashtags also help promote visibility), but also because if there was ever a group out there that has put in the hard work and is a damn cut above in quality while receiving only the tiniest sliver of the recognition they deserve, it's these guys. It's a real shame, because they are going places no other contemporary a cappella group would even imagine, let alone try.

They are all singers, Layne is also the vocal percussion, and Geoff is the bass. As a group they are unique, in a league of their own. Their arrangements are just amazing. Don't worry, they get that reaction a lot. :)They are incredibly imaginative in their covers and they never miss a trick.

Welcome to #Voiceplay rabbit hole! 🙂
Yes, these guys are incredibly talented, and not only because of their singing skills. They ARE their own crew... Whoever does the arrangement (in this case, it was Geoff ("Jeff") Castellucci, the bass) does pretty much everything, from the visual concept to decide costuming to the first video and audio editing. Arrangements have been more or less 50/50 among Geoff and Layne Stein, beatboxer, baritone and... VioLayne 😁. It's been said that from now on Eli ("Ellie") Jacobson, the "bald" tenor who usually takes care of lighting and occasionally of the background visual effects, will get into that and they will share 1/3 of the arrangements each. They usually record their videos at Pattycake Productions, which is co-owned by Layne and Tony Wakim, another former member of the group who left because he wanted to stay on the other side of the cameras. But he was an excellent baritone and you can still see him in several older videos. 🙂
The only things they outsource are the final audio editing (done by Ed Boyer), prothetic and particularly creative makeup (Rick Underwood), and some costumes (I think). The production manager is Kathy Castellucci, Geoff's wife, who sometimes does a cameo in the videos, like she did in "Golden hour".
This year, their production just took an incredible step up. They kept outdoing themselves at every new video, we were just wondering where they would be at the end of the year... Well, they were live on stage with the band "Chicago" and sang with them and had a blast 😅. The rehearsals took a toll though, together with Geoff and the whole family getting Covid, and they couldn't deliver as good and complex video as usual for Christmas... But they managed to treat us with a short yet super goofy and funny one anyway. 😅
This is another of their qualities: they have a very good sense of humour 😁. "Their brand of dumb" as they call it. Sooooo lovely. ❤
Anyway, they cover pretty much all genres I can think of, so check any of their videos that entices your curiosity. You can't fail with these guys. 🙂
As some already pointed out, Geoff has his own channel, where he does "Low bass singer covers" of any kind of songs. He started it during the pandemic, and "clones" himself into 4 or 5 characters, often with different costumes, makeups, voices (he has a 5 octave range...), and personality. Pick one and hear with your ears. 🙂
Between Voiceplay and Geoff, they kinda OWN Halloween. And that's another "genre" altogether. 😁
Just subscribed in anticipation for more VP and possibly Geoff. 🙂
    See you next time!

And VioLayne breaks another reactor. A nickname he earned in their video "Warriors". It was decided to do the violin because no one could imitate the guitar solo.
Voiceplay is one of the top 3 acapella groups.
They are independent and do everything themselves from concept to RUclips and beyond. Except intricate make-up, cameras and audio mixing.
    Left to right.....
    Geoff Castellucci - bass, arrangements.
J None - baritone, guest, former member.
Eli (like jelly) Jacobson - tenor, rock tenor, lighting, arrangements.
Cesar De La Rosa - baritone, tenor.
Layne Stein - beatboxer, baritone, arrangements.
J None was with them 2018-2021. He left to sing with the US Navy choir. He comes back whenever he can to sing with them.
This video earned the nickname Metallicapella.
All Voiceplay videos are amazing. You can't go wrong with anything. They're also not afraid to do any genre of music. Broadway, pop, game themes, opera, orchestra, rock, Disney, country, and the list goes on. Some of their videos are simple like this. Others they are dressed up in characters related to the song. Especially Halloween as they are known as both The Theater Kids of Acapella and The Kings of Halloween.

A word greater than flawless? How about transcendant? ☺ Welcome to the VoicePlay experience! Please keep your heart, mind and soul inside the reaction at all times. Not everybody appreciates this specific performance as well as it deserves from the start (though most are won over by the end,) and your reaction is a genuine delight.
From left to right are Geoff Castellucci (who arranged this song and also has his own solo channel full of videos showcasing his five-octave range;) former member and returning guest J.None; Eli Jacobson (longtime member and former metal singer;) newest member and perpetual ray of sunshine Cesar De La Rosa; and beatboxer Layne 'VioLayne' Stein, who has broken out his instrument in only one other video (Warriors) but arranges many of their other songs, sings a lovely baritone and co-owns PattyCake Productions, where these guys do a lot of their filming. Although you don't see her on-screen here, Geoff's lovely wife Kathy is their production manager and occasional guest star, without whom the magic could not happen.
These gentlemen collaborate with a whole constellation of exceptional vocal artists and have a list of superb videos and mini/shorts as long as I am tall. There's not a single dud in their entire catalog, which goes back over a decade and spans several lineup changes. Some other relatively recent videos that you definitely don't want to miss are Hoist the Colours, Valhalla Calling, Seven Nation Army, Creep, We Don't Talk About Bruno, In The Air Tonight, Drunken Sailor, and The Wellermen.
Liked, subscribed and looking forward to more!

How about "apotheostical?" (I learned that word from an old popular song, Johnny Mercer's "Too Marvelous for Words").
Anyway, when people are recommending VoicePlay songs to newbies, I like to add two of my favorites: "Man in the Mirror" and "Tennessee Whiskey," which are often overlooked.

  • @elmarwinkler6335

Jimmy, sir, Marvelous would be my word. The friendly Aurora already said it, they are independent, also thanks to their Patreons. You will find a lot of phantastic music with them, they tour sometimes, mostly in the US. As they worked with Disney (they are in Orlando Florida) and Universal, they know how to record a video. They are also known to be the "theater kids" of a capella.
Oohh, I forgot, Mr. Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci has a dynamic voice range of more than 5 octaves, this was confirmed. The other singers have at least 3 octaves. Layne Stein, the "vocal percussionist" is also a genius and is respected and adored by many. Also every a capella group you named, is good friends with voice play. They even help each other out.
    Have a great year 2024.
    Elmar from Germany

Welcome to the rabbit hole of VoicePlay #TheatreKidsOfACapella and Geoff Castellucci. You have a lot to catch up with them. They just did a concert singing with Chicago last month. They do 90% of everything on their own. Kathy Castellucci is the Production Manager and Geoff's (the bass) wife. She has the awesome task of keeping the boys and Geoff in line and on track. Geoff goes his lowest in their cover of Valhalla Calling. Geoff has his own channel and does LOW BASS covers. Check it out. J. None is a former member till he joined the Navy in 2021. When he is home on leave he gets back with the boys. Just peruse the credits to see what members do on each project. Like this one.
Arrangement, Creative Design and Costuming - Geoff Castellucci
    Video Editing - Layne Stein
Direction - Geoff Castellucci, Layne Stein, and Tony Wakim
    Audio Mix - Ed Boyer
    Production Manager - Kathy Castellucci
Tony Wakim is a past VoicePlay memeber/baritone who is a business partner in Patty Cake Productions with Layne Stein baritone/beatboxer/Violayne. VoicePlay and Geoff do many of their videos there.

Flawless is a good word to use but I know how you feel. It’s hard coming up with thoughts and feelings and words because VoicePlay has something intangible about them. Good analytics or not, I hope you will keep reacting to them because they are phenomenal. The best acapella group out there in my opinion. Definitely the most creative and theatrical not to mention their amazing voices. Geoff Castelucci, the bass has his own channel as well that is worth checking out. He’s incredibly talented! I will definitely subscribe if I see you going down this rabbit hole! ❤😅

It is so much fun watching your face, love it!! J None, second from left was a member of Voiceplay from 2018 to 2021. He was recruited by the US Navy and is singing with them. He's halfway through a five year hitch and has been back at least 5 times as featured artist.
Geoff (bass) and Layne (beatboxer) have been dividing arrangements about half and half. Eli (ellie) the tenor in the center has also done some arranging and will be doing more going forward.
Voiceplay has a very loyal fan base, we will always be here for them.
Try their version of Hoist the Colours from Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Trust me.
Geoff, married for about 16 years, one son. Layne, married with four daughters, Eli, married with a brand new baby boy, J None is married, no children. They are based in Orlando and do everything themselves. They used to tour constantly, but Covid put the kibosh on that. Now they do rare corporate gigs and were in concert with Chicago in November.
Subscribed in anticipation of more Voiceplay

I love this. A brand new reactor! Love the enthusiasm from you. I like the word "mesmerizing". VoicePlay has been singing since middle and high school around 1997. Some of the group went on to new ventures like Scott Porter who was the beatboxer and is an actor, currently in Friday Night Lights, was in Lucifer Season 6, came back to do the Halo theme a couple of years ago. When Scott left, Layne who was the baritone wanted to be the beatboxer. Geoff taught him what he knew about it and Layne ran with it and is one of the top vocal percussionists. As you noticed, he is also a classical violinist. Geoff's range is incredible: A0 (growl) in Enemy, B0 (subharmonic) in Halo and big time in Valhalla Calling, F1 (full chest) Whiskey in the Jar, into the 4th octave he divides it into full chest or head mix, Bb5 (highest note) in Super Mario Brothers Peaches, Eli (bald tenor aka Rock God) joined VoicePlay in 2010, Cesar is the newest member of the group (try We're Good (Dua Lipa) Cesar's final audition before becoming a member - and is also stunning in I Can't Make You Love Me (Bonnie Raitt), J None is covered here well, being in the US Navy chorus (promoted from the Pacific NW to Washington DC - makes it easier to get down to Orlando). Some of my favorites - In The Air Tonight (Phil Collins), Drunken Sailor, Dragonborn Comes Skyrim, In the Hall of the Mountain King (Edvard Grieg 1875), We Don't Talk About Bruno (Disney Encanto), Creep (RadioHead), Hoist the Colours (Pirates of the Caribbean), Wicked (Broadway), the post-apocalyptic trilogy over 3 yrs - Warriors (Imagine Dragons) - Dream On (Aerosmith) - Seven Nation Army (White Stripes), Valhalla Calling (Miracle of Sound) is EPIC. These should get you started. They have about 800 videos to choose from. Geoff started his solo channel when Covid shut down the tours so he's done about 1/month since Covid. I was reading news on RUclips October 2021 when that little window popped up and said Monster Mash (my favorite Halloween song since I was a kid). It was Geoff and I fell hard. Found he was part of VoicePlay and Hoist the Colours had just dropped. I found the rabbit hole and love this group. VoicePlay fans are rabid - we love our reactors, especially one like you and we will follow your path. VP members are in Orlando and have worked for Disney, Universal, and other theme parks. They have no contracts - they keep the control of their creativity.

Back to hear your reaction once more. Last fall, the great band Chicago got wind of VoicePlay doing this cover. They heard it, contacted VoicePlay and invited them to be a part of their Chicago and Friends 2 night concert on Nov 17-18 in New Jersey. A couple of Patrons went to that concert and have posted a lot of what VoicePlay sang there. Chicago's trumpeter was sitting next to Geoff and his expressions clearly said "How does he do that?" When they were setting up the stage, the stage manager wanted to know where VP wanted the drum kit. Eli just pointed to Layne and said, "He's it." My word is mesmerizing.

Welcome to the #Voiceplay rabbit hole.
There have been some incredible covers by the group - In the air tonight (Phil Collins), Dream on, Halo theme Song, drunken Sailer, Valhalla Calling, Hoist the Colours, Whiskey in the Jar, in My room, Creep, Golden hour, Hellfire.
Their members have changed over the past few years, but the core group you'll see will be Geoff Castellucci (Bass singer on the Left), Eli (pronounced like Elly) Jacobsen (middle singer who has quite a rock should to his voice), and Layne Stein (Beatboxer on the right)
Cesar (second from right is their newest member) and J.None (second from left (left a year or 2 ago to join the Navy, but has collaborated with Voiceplay frequently when on leave) would be 2 you'd see often.
Geoff Castellucci has his own solo channel (he uses backing tracks and instruments as well has Acapella elements in his songs), where you will see that he has a pretty incredible range (he can sing from the bottom of the 1st octave up into the 5th octave).
Some songs to check: Sound of Silence, Man of Constant Sorrow, Folsom prison Blues, Way down, Ghost Riders in the Sky, House of the rising sun, Far over the misty mountains cold, I See fire.
Hope you can react to some of these.

You asked where they are from. They are from Orlando, many if not all of them have worked for Disney or other similar shows and they love to dress up and act the characters, this one is quite unusual in that it was very stripped bare look wise. Try Creep if you want to cry and to see one where Cesar features a lot. We don't talk about Bruno for fun, Hall of the Mountain king for big costumes and no words ! Seven Nation army for some insane beatboxing. Valhalla calling for vikings ( or do a double starting with My mother told me then Vallhalla calling) just to name a few.. They do a huge range of styles including game tracks (Dargonborn comes and Halo), Disney obviously (The most recent from the Hunchback of Notre Dame features Geoff as lead vocalist), rock, and so much more.
Geoff (said Jeff) has his own channel, met his "brothers" in "I see fire" where they all sound and look different (it's really just Geoff honest) its the second in his Dwarves from The Hobbit songs the first being Misty Mountains cold. I see fire shows off his range and ability to change tone so well.
Both Voiceplay and Geoff do some awesome Halloween tracks so make sure to schedule them in around that time of year too. This year Geoff did Jacks Lament which was just amazing.

Welcome to VoicePlay, they are my all time favorite. I subscribed so I can hear more VoicePlay reactions by you. You need to check out their version of: Seven Nation Army, Dream On, Carry on your Wayward Son, Valhalla Calling, Creep, If I Were a Rich Man/Girl (really showcases Geoff's range). Geoff Castellucci (the bass) has his own channel, you should check out his version of Ain't No Sunshine, I See Fire, Sound of Silence, 16 Tons. You will be amazed by what they can do.

Sometimes, rarely, they perform a song I do not care for but when I listen to the mazing talent exude from them I find myself listening over and over again. Each time hearing something new. They are the consummate performers. They are a team who genuinely like each other and the group has no "egos" to contend with - they each perform in every song. Be sure to watch the entire performance, ie Geoff spitting gummy words while singing in Oogey Boogie. writing on the walls, etc. Love your reacti9ons

    Long comment is long:
Hi! Welcome to the glory that is VoicePlay. Be prepared for a floodgate of subscriptions. I, like many here, subscribed immediately when you did a Voiceplay video. You seem like you're about to go down the rabbit hole and I, for one (and all the rest of the VoicePlayers) are going to absolutely live for your reactions as you get to know the guys, the group's story and their endless supply of wonderful music.
They release at least one full length song per month, sometimes two. They also produce 1 to 4 'minis', just shorts that are excerpts of songs.
VP is entirely independent. They arrange, film concept, set design and building, edit, first mix, production, lights... all of it is them (PattyCake Productions which is listed a lot of the time, is run and owned by Lane Stine, a current VP member and Tony Wakim, a former VP member). Songs go off for a final mixing by Ed Boyer, who does the mixing for the 'Big Three' acapella groups - VoicePlay, Home Free, and Pentatonix - as well as so much more. They also do not copyright claim their videos as they actively enjoy reactor interactions.
The band's members have changed slowly over time, but if you look at the thumbnail for their cover of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters, the individuals from left to right are:
Geoff Castellucci - The Most Marvelous Bass Singer. Pronounced "Jeff" not "Gee-off." He, himself, has a 5 octave range, and his current lowest note is a B0... there are only two notes lower than that on the Piano.
    J. None - Baritone Perfecto and former member of the band who is serving in the Navy at the moment, but who gets together with the guys for another song whenever he can. Absolutely stunning smooth, warm voice.
Eli Jacobson - Rock Tennor Sans Compare. The name is pronounced like the feminine name Ellie, rhymes with Jelly, and is short for Eliezer not Elijah. Watching his voice and skill develop over the years has been an absolute delight.
Cesar De La Rosa - Baritone/Tennor Extroidinare. Cool voice, smooth smile, Incredibly theatrical and wonderfully entertaining.
Layne Stein - Boundless Human Synthesizer. Or maybe an alien. He's got it all. Drum kit, brass section, throat bass, and an ability to create sounds you would *swear* are not possible to create by human mouth and throat. They are. Layne proves it. Also an excellent violin player.
Former Members that you're likely to see in older videos:
Tony Wakim - former bass - now co-owns PattyCake productions with Layne
Earl Elkins - former high tennor (Tennor 1) - stunningly high voice, left for personal reasons
In addition to the band's regular members, in nearly every video, you'll see a guest featured. Common appearances are DeeJay Young,Omar Cardona, J.None(for now technically a guest feature), Rachel Potter, Anthony Gargiula, and Jose Rosario, Jr.
Before I get to recommendations, it's worth noting that although not all of their older songs have them, most of the stuff from the last couple of years has captions, though it usually takes a day or so after the videos are posted for them to be added. Turning on the captions is worth it because sometimes there are funny notes (see VP's cover of Nighmare Before Christmas's Oogie Boogie Song for a prime example) Similarly, it's always worth it to to watch the video credits. On occasion there is something to see during the credits (See Hellfire, Drunken Sailor, or Hall of the Mountain King for the best examples here).
    ----------
That all being said, and with the note that everything they've done is really, genuinely worth watching, here are my "These First!!!" recommendations:
If you like ..... You should check out their cover of:
    Metallica ..... Nothing Else Matters*
Pirates ..... Hoist the Colors, Drunken Sailor*
Vikings ..... My Mother Told Me, Valhalla Calling*
Video Games ..... Enemy*, The Dragonborn Comes*, Halo Theme, Still Alive, Minecraft Theme(mini)
    Sea shanties ..... Wellermen*
Nightmare Before Christmas ..... What's This, Kidnap the Sandy Claws*, Oogie Boogie Song, This is Halloween*
Disney Movies ..... Moana Medley*, Little Mermaid Medley, Hellfire*, We Don't Talk About Bruno*, Friends on the Other Side*, Go the Distance, Frozen 2 Medley
Musicals ..... Wicked Medley, Timewarp(mini), If I were a Rich Man*, Greatest Showman Medley
    BTS ..... Butter*
Panic! At the Disco ..... Panic in 4 minutes - parts 1 and 2, Death of a Bachelor
+ The Billie Eilish in 3 Minutes* is a prequel to the Panic in 4 Minutes, and together they are a three video series.
Halloween ..... Hide and Seek*, Superstition, Hall of the Mountain King*, Grim Grinning Ghosts
Christmas ..... Christmas Don't Be Late, You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch, Mission: Jingle Bells, Baby It's Cold Outside*, O Little Town of Bethlehem, This Christmas, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, O Holy Night
Generally Being Awed and Amazed ..... Seven Nation Army, Creep, Man in the Mirror, In the Air Tonight, Eleanor Rigby, In My Room, Dream On, The Heart of Life, Survivor (Zombies vs Hillbillies, with fellow Acapella Band Home Free), Boy Bands in 5 Minutes, Tennessee Whiskey, I Can't Make You Love Me, Golden Hour, Bang, The Bones, Cary On My Wayward Son, Queen in 5 Minutes *LITERALLY ALL OF THESE, CONSIDER THIS WHOLE SECTION STARRED*
    ----------
I've starred a few favourites, and it's also definitely worth noting that if a song has lyrics, especially a bridge, that isn't in the original, Geoff Castellucci almost always is the one who writes it.
If I didn't star it, it's still excellent. Even if I didn't list it, it's still amazing. These are just the ones that stand out to me as things I want to see reactors... well, react to.
Finally, Geoff also has a solo career, and his videos are here, too. I'd suggest, in no particular order
House of the Rising Sun, Ain't No Sunshine, Sixteen Tons, Jack's Lament (Nightmare Before Christmas), God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, White Christmas, The Sound of Silence, Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold (The Hobbit), I See Fire (The Hobbit), and Ghost Riders in the Sky.

Oh my gosh! I just subscribed to your channel in hopes that you continue on the #VoicePlay journey. These guys are the best Acapella group. They are independent so they do what they want. They have songs from Broadway musicals (Wicked) to rock ( Dream on) to classical music ( In The Hall Of The Mountain King).
The guys from left to right on the screen are Geoff Castellucci (bass) J None (baritone, guest singer) Eli Jacobson (tenor, rock god) Cesar De La Rosa (sweet baritone) Layne (percussion, baritone, violinist).
I can't wait to see your next VoicePlay reaction!😊

I really enjoyed your reaction and enthusiasm for Voice play and am a new subscriber looking forward to more Voice Play and bass singer, Geoff Castellucci, solo channel as well. Great information in the comments here from the other "Voice Players"(fans of Voice Play) so I will add a little more. They are from Orlando Florida and all the members and their frequently featured guests have worked as performers for Universal and/or Disney theme parks. They are very different from other acapella groups as they are theatrical and known as the theater kids of acapella music (Home Free has more of a Country/Folk style and Pentatonix has more of a current, trendy Pop style). Voice Play works without a record label or contract by choice so they have complete control of their creative expression and balance of work and family over touring demands. They do all of their own production (arrangements, costumes, makeup, lighting and technical effects, etc). You may be confused at first seeing different featured guests as the black gentleman here, J None was a member but recently left to join the Navy (he still comes back to sing with Voice Play frequently when he is on military leave). Voice Play uses a few frequently featured guests that they have known since high school, college, or working the theme parks and local clubs over the years and some of their guests are thought of like Voice Play's extended family. I would recommend their cover of "Valhalla Calling" for your next reaction but if you go through their playlist and pick a song of interest to you you will never be disappointed.

And the genres that they cover is extensive. You should check out their cover of Carry on wayward son, dream on, creep, and seven nation army.
Also, the base (geoff castellucci) has his own Channel where he works on solo stuff, which is absolutely worth the listen. Shanendoah, blackbird, house of the rising sun if you really want a good idea of his range. He's more of a beast than you think. Incredible!!!

    One word: sublime!
(In addition to all the other recommendations: their cover of In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins)
Having said that... everything they touch turns to gold - and their genre range is huge. They are from Orlando... and they stopped touring post Covid... but they recently sang as invited artists with the legendary band Chicago.
    Wonderful people - independent.

Voice Play and Home Free have phenomenal bass singers and beat boxers. Home Free is even known for their bass singers blowing out sound systems live on stage. And they don't have one 'main' singer - they arrange it so that everyone gets turns - even the beatboxer. You should also check out Geoff Castellucci's solo stuff. In most of their videos you can read in their description who (of them) has made the arrangement, the direction and so on. Most videos so far have been arranged and directed by either Geoff Castellucci (bass) or Layne Stein (beatboxer). And in many of their videos they are not just sitting and singing, but also acting. Also in the description you can normally find the members of the group (as there were some changes over time, but always great music). Great videos to see their capabilities are "Oogie Boogie's Song", "Valhalla Calling", or "Drunken Sailor". But there are many more. I'll add just a list of my favorites from them beside the one you've just seen (in order of creation):

Or, perhaps, Awesome in the older sense of the word rather than the 'cool/rad' vibe the word carries now.

Watching new VP reactions is one of my favorite things, and your reaction was incredible. I absolutely enjoyed this. VP covers all genres and styles and is an incredible artist in their own right. They do all their own production, editing, costuming, etc. If you open the video description, they always credit who is doing what. The bass, Geoff's (Jeff) wife, Kathy, is their production manager. Anything you choose will be incredible, but if you want something that will knock your socks off, I recommend Valhalla Calling or Seven Nation Army. Geoff's solo channel also has some fantastic work, and one of my favorites is his cover of Aint No Sunshine by Bill Withers or I See Fire from the Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug. He does all the parts, the videography, editing, arranging, costuming, and direction, with the help of his wife, Kathy. Welcome to the Rabbit Hole. I have subscribed in anticipation of more Voiceplay and Geoff.

lol, Geoff wasn’t even trying here, this was all like the low side of the middle of his range. He has lots of room on either end.
Find his solo stuff. His full name is Geoff Castellucci. He does everything in four or five parts and he sings all the parts. His cover of House of the Rising Sun is one I really like. If you are familiar with the movie “Nightmare Before Christmas”, then also look at his combover of Jack’s Lament.
For VoicePlay, check out their covers of Dream On and Seven Nation Army.

Since I think you may have enjoyed this 😂 if you want to stick to this “genre” of Voiceplay id suggest Dream On Aerosmith cover, Queen in 5 minutes, Phil Collins’ In the air tonight.
But literally pick a genre and Voiceplay will have covered it.
My current favourites of theirs are “superstition” and “In my room”
But honestly I’m yet to hear a bad song from them (there’s only one I’m not a massive fan of and that’s purely because I just don’t like the song in any form not because VP did it bad in anyway) they have songs to fit my every mood from happy to sad to silly.
    Great reaction.

To see one of their more theatrical songs.. I'd recommend Valhalla Calling, Hellfire or, if you want more rock, try Warriors and it's continuing story in Dream On. The group has been around for the past 20 years, and have had some member turnover (older videos you'll see Tony who moved into video production and co-owns Pattycake with Layne, Earl - who left a couple of years ago, J None was a full member but he is serving in the Navy, and only pops in now and again when he's on leave). As the others have said the core of Geoff, Layne, Eli (pronounced like Jelly) & the newest full member, Cesar.

VoicePlay doesn't really have any one specific lead singer. Sometimes an individual song will have one main lead singer (e.g., Geoff in Hellfire), but more often they pass it around. The one who sings lead least often is Layne, just because he's usually busy making drum sounds. But he does sing now and then, e.g. the mad chef's solo in Little Mermaid.
