Eli spent 2 years on the road with a rock band. And every now and then the Rock Beast emerges. Great reaction.
J None is a former baritone member of Voiceplay who left for the Navy close to two years ago . He comes back periodically on leave to collaborate with his old group members. He is the one seated next to Geoff, the bass genius.

J.None is basically like Geoff an a half an octave higher on the bass and a couple notes higher up top. Very versatile singer, with a nearly 4.5 octave vocal range. And, when he was sick and singing, he was hitting accidental subharmonics down to B0 in a video he made... so I think he is more than capable of them, too, but he is best at belting into tenor and his silky smooth baritone runs.
@@infin8reactions please do a reaction video of Voice Plays new cover song ( In My Room) by the Beach Boys. Voice Play knocks this one out of the ball park. Please add Voice Plays medley of ( Queen In 5 Minutes ). Elie's rock star shines again. They did a theatrical version , great story line. A must see.
If you aren't aware, Layne - sometimes known as Violayne - also plays on their version of Warriors, and J.None plays violin on that one as well, as he was then a member of VP. before being approached by the US navy to sing with their music section.
Every reaction video I've watched the reactor just sits in awe when the song finishes. With good reason too!
Geoff (the bass) did the arranging, next to him is J None who was a member of VP but recruited into the US Navy for his vocal talents, center is Eli (like jelly) high rock tenor, next to him is the newest member of VP, Cesar, baritenor (killed it on high notes of Dream On), Layne is vocal percussionist, baritone and violinist, aka VioLayne. He and Geoff alternate producing the videos. They planned this one for October but J None's leave was cancelled so they put it off to January. Layne and a previous member, Tony Wakim, bought a studio and a lot of VoicePlay's videos are done their as is Geoff's solo channel. Geoff had arranged this with a guitar solo for Layne like Metallica did at the end. He got the bright idea to let Layne do it on his violin. It worked beautifully. The last time he did the violin was 3 yrs ago in Warriors where Layne did violin and beatboxing. Worth seeing and following up with Dream On from this past year. Both are a bit apocalyptic and Geoff calls Dream On - Warriors 2. Tennessee Whiskey is great - VoicePlay doesn't have a bad video out 800+. Geoff solos are not acapella, often plays the piano, really divine. If you follow up on what VoicePlay has, we fans will be there.
Geoff Castalucci, the bass singer in Voice Play has his own channel. He does solo work & sometimes clones himself 4 times so he can harmonize with himself. Please please do a reaction video of Geoff's newest solo cover ( Till Then ) also his solo cover ( Shenandoah ). They are beautiful.❤️

I have to agree with the other suggestions in the comments about checking out Voice Play's "Warriors" as beatboxer, Layne, really rocks out on the violin in that one while beatboxing and J None also plays violin in that one (sounds like you would really enjoy "Warriors" since you appreciate the violins in rock music). You would also enjoy Voice Play's rock covers of "Dream On" and "Carry On My Wayward Son".

Yeah, we all agree with you-adding the violin might break the “acapella rules,” but do we care? NO. Not when the violin is played this well. Layne is amazing-great vocal perc, stellar violin, and when we get to hear him sing it’s always a treat. The arrangement by Geoff was already brilliant, and I guess initially the guitar solo was supposed to be done vocally, but not long before recording day Geoff asked Layne to see what he could do on his violin. IMO that few bars just brought it to the next level.

@@infin8reactions Thank you so much for a priceless reaction to Voice Play. They didn't only break the rules they paved the way for other a capella groups to use instruments. Pentatonix followed suit by using cello's & Home Free used a guitar.
This one broke me. Not the first time they've done it - I think the first was Warriors. But definitely the most intense.
Eliezer (Eli) was in a rock band. You can still hear the grittiness in his voice from that time

VoicePlay has used the violin once before, when they covered Warriors from Imagine Dragon. Otherwise they are strictly voices.

Eli used to be the front for a rock/metal cover band.
J. None comes back when he's on leave and I'm pretty sure he plans on joining VoicePlay again when his 5-year stint of singing with the navy is up. I think that's why they haven't permanently added the other guys who join them for their videos. They dropped their cover of the Beach Boys' In My Room a couple days ago with DeeJay Young filling out the fifth space. And I have to admit, that version is the first time I've ever liked that song. Even Tim Foust's (Home Free) solo doo-wop version just got a "meh" from me, and I love Tim. VoicePlay has had a violin in only one other song. Warriors was about 2 years ago, when J. None and Earl was still with them and J. None and vioLayne played. They went totally a cappella for the follow up video, Dream On, with Cesar De La Rosa and Omar Cardona.
