I don't know if I would Rob parts from k2 to fix Smokey I think I would start doing Internet searches for parts first even if you have to shop other parts of the world
Great video Mike Smokeys interior is coming together nicely getting closer to installing the new interior. Thanks for sharing stay safe Mike,Andrea and Dad.
As for some of the painting quality, Your fellow RUclipsr Sleeperdude has a great saying. "It's good enough for who it's for and what they are paying". Good job remembering where everything goes.
Congratulations Mike! Smokey is coming along really good! You’re a true inspiration to a lot of people, by your not giving up when the going gets hard- you acknowledge that it is what it is, bite the bullet, & keep on trucking with the projects! I’m proud of you and glad for you because of this, and wish you the best with all the rest of your projects accordingly! As well, I also wish you all God’s Blessings throughout accordingly, including Miss Andrea ‘s Mom, who I am glad you 2 went & spent some quality time with! Take care!
great video Mike glad to see you back at smokey but as far as the GoPro I did not see a red dot from the wireless Mike but seems to work very well you were in the shop talking and could hear you fine thanks for the info on that truck catalog will tell my buddy about it he might want to get parts for his Kenworth t600
my other thought regarding those trim parts is to carefully remove them from K2 and take them to a fibreglassing place to have molds made, then get you can make a couple of full sets out of fibreglass much tougher than plastic
Hi Mike! Good idea on the new heat. Redundancy is always a good thing. I would let K2 keep his parts and run Smokey without the trim for now. I like that your thinking of putting more tires on K2 because he's looking a little forlorn sitting out there. The more you take off, the more you have to put back on. That's my opinion for what it's worth.
Adding living quarters to Stumpy would be great. A 144" ARI Sleeper berth would be a cool camper. Like the ones that Reliable carriers use on their car hauler Pete's and KW's. If not for the cost.
It's getting closer. The interior is going to look really good. You mentioned the K100 dash looking good, I agree. I have always really liked the K100 dash in the mid 1970 - 1980's trucks. While I like Pete cabovers, and have driven a couple really nice ones, I never have liked the dash in them. I actually really dislike them LOL, which is unfortunate because the rest of the trucks are really nice, but then again, it's just my opinion... The temp here on the high desert of central Oregon got down to 28F overnight. This was our second night that got below freezing. Fall is a comin... Won't be long and that nasty white stuff will be on the ground again. Seems like it just went away.
Mike you need to move to Tennessee we have mild winters sometimes don't even get snow 30s 20s usually normal temperatures in the winter not just ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️ but I love the snow when it does
@@mikethetrucknut yes it's bad I live in Manchester right out of Nashville so nothing much happened here but yes very sad but you would love it here weather wise not to hot in the summer not to cold in the winter really the best state for weather don't tell no immigrants that though tell all of them is the worst state you ever seen 😂
Another step forward, well done. This initially looked almost like too great a hurdle to undertake, but somehow you are putting it behind you. The walk around was great it was a reminder of how good a truck K2 has the potential to be. Which one will move into the shop next now Stubby has moved out? Presumably one which has great potential using parts already sourced. Was that a pensive expression Andrea was wearing?
I really like the Grey interior on Kenny, most of the Kenworth interiors I have come across in Oz are just a maroon red colour. I wonder what the ratio of interior colour's they got built in... EDIT you need to get the auction truck stripped down before winter too mate!!
Hi Mike, please do not instal a Aftermarket Bumper were is to wide,!!! A K 💯 that is wath i think, the best is with the OEM Gullwing Bumper, all aftermarket looks like a snowshild and Ugly 🤗
Wood hard to get??? As he's has a forest in the back ground. .. most of our wood we buy here in the US is from Canada .. it's the one thing you guys have a lot of lol
Mike, K2 is in too good a condition to Rob parts off of it, why don't you speak to Cabover Gary down in Texas, he knows a lot of truck parts yards, maybe he'd know where to get some plastics from, just a thought.
If you already have trucks working and driving and able to get around why would you want to have trucks that need more parts and more work and Needs engines and needs transmission and more work then you wanted to take on. So why not use one of your trucks as a part truck and save your self some money and get your favorite truck that you drive most fix up and make it the way you want it and if you like the cab of Kenny better then take parts off k-2 and use them so you can enjoy driving Kenny more often that is what I would do and find another truck to fix k-2 when you get to him that is just my opinion
If I were you, knowing you are not me at all, I would narrow this addiction to two, at the outside three trucks only. Devote time to fix properly who, what why where these trucks are here. Dad will leave you someday leaving you so devastated that you will crash mentally. You wear your heart on your sleeve and thats a good thing Mike. Not afraid to cry and yet too big a man to let anyone know how bad you really feel. I am going to stop there as it just hurts way too blankity blank bad. Use the best of what you have and fix smoky perfect as you want it to be. I do not think your pockets are deep enough to build a first place truck world "Sema" quality rig" because thats millions into a metal piece of art that you can't drive on dirt roads, or rain... heaven forbid should it see ice and snow slush with all the salt packed into it. Sell those extra rigs to someone who has too much money for a short time as they soon realize trucks cost more than a yacht your prime minister would expect to own on YOUR money. I think he is a crook like our Joe Biden, and communist kamala with her tin soldier tampon timmi. Much more graft in our systems and your going to be out of work as one truck sale a year keeps no one happy. I love ya and so goes to your family. All great people that love and support you.
dont understand why you are not putting a new Engine in Smokey yet. I would put my time in general getting the truck back up and running then putting the inside back together videos are getting really boring lately
Take the plastic trim pieces to someone that does 3D printing. Have them reproduced for all the aerodynes
It’s getting exciting watching Smokey come together Mike!
LOOK GOOD MIKE . BIG SHOUT OUT TO ANDRIA FOR SUPPORTING THESE BUILDS

Hi Mike, your getting there, little by little, seems to take forever doesn't it.

Thank you for the kind words 🙏
Starting to take shape, can’t wait to see the upholstery going in. Cheers

Looooking goood as Chico would say back in the day✝️✝️✝️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦😎👍
Dad's looking good

You could try ordering some plastic trim from Australia they still have K100 over there
Coming along nicely
K100 bumpers mount weird the 3 bolts on one side and 2 on the other is correct

Nice progress on Smokey...

I've kinda been looking for an affordable used one

yes Tennessee gets nasty weather too like Twisters and hurricanes look at what happened he is better of staying
Love Tennessee ❤️ so sad to see what that hurican did to everyone, though.

Nice heated shop!!
Call up the Daycab company and see if they have any ideas on your window trim. Maybe they would want to make them.
Looking well smokey start on engine on smokey Mike
The Pete 🥰
Stumpy as camper mike
💯
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Get yourself some sound deadening material you will appreciate well worth it put it on the bare metal before your foam
😎👍
Just drill pattern you need and put dummy stainless bolts in the un used holes

Yes it is normal
You should combine the trucks. I vote yes to robbing Peter to pay Paul. Also the front wheels on Smokey have to go lol
I'm thinking if you take from k2 to fix kenny, eventually you will need to find parts for k2, anyway.
Use hot hot water to straighten them
Leave it alone . I'd build the trim in smoky out of 3/8 plywood
Would 3d printing be a solution for plastics, assuming you cant get the plans of them?
You might be able to find the trim parts in a junk yard
Mike besides insulation why don’t you ever use dynamat for further sound protection
I've used Kill Matt on my motor home. I don't think it would stick to the fiberglass very well so didn't bother with it this time.
Let me ask you something do they make camper style sleepers there in Canada for Kenworth and Peterbilt semi trucks
I would take the plastic off and go get one made. Maybe get it made from carbon fiber
Make GOD BAI GOD LOOK MY FRIEND 👏👍🙋♂️
you rreally make since,,, hahaha,,,

Make a pattern
Shood send to day cab company see if that thay can replicate it
