Great did it start. Too many start so good to see the reality of it not starting. Drag it home and let Dad get to work on it. THIS time, strip in to the frame and restore it fully. Great to see a 359 day cab get saved. Now this has to be a show truck.
Hi Mike. Great effort. Please don't let it get you down. The truck has been sitting for years. You and your dad are a good team not forgetting Andrea. When you get her out of the weeds and back to your shop and get her driving like it should be. 😊
First off Mike That was a great attempt to get it started!!! Second it sounds like you already did the deal to get it! So take and get it towed to the Big shop and as Dad said then you can work on it there with all the necessary tools at your disposal!! I think Andrea is in on this deal with you & I wish you luck!!
Great video Mike. As others have said, it didn't seem to be spinning over fast enough. As it can't be driven it would need recovering anyway and it'll be nearer to your toolbox. Good to see Andrea helping out too. Mike from Lancashire 🇬🇧
Hey Mike, Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes the Baseball Bat! A for trying. Get it to the shop and work at it there where you have tools and supplies.
Hey Mike, love your videos. Get it home and keep trying! A lot of tubers who do this in the field use heavy duty jumper boxes (I hope a sponsor reaches out) 😁
Mike, we need a follow up with better batteries or one of those goodall jump boxes- needs more juice! We all want to see it start! Also, it’s always nice to see part of Prince George in the videos! Keep it up
Good video Mike, i reckon that truck will start with fresh batteries and some fettling. It will make a good addition to your fleet/collection. Maybe spray its chassis blue like Duke. Andrea's comments were entertaining and its always good to see your knowledgeable dad.
Hi Mike Get the 359 truck out of the bogg, put on the back of low and slow, get it back to the shop were you have the tools to get it started and make it a great truck again..... From Australia 🇦🇺
Hey Mike, at least you passed the biggest hurdle. Because the wife seems to be onboard with the new project. I would have cracked the injector lines and turned her over till the fuel squirted out. That would have answered some of the what if's even if she didn't fire off. Those old Cat engines are hard to crank when they're cold let alone setting 20 years!
on april 1st you can slip it into the used lot at work lol ask Twinsticks Mark ... what should I have done with the roof cap 😀 put the Triple A class C body over from it on the 359 that was a hell of a nice RV in its day
Whoever last had that old rig on the road dod use good parts. The filters kn the kside of the block are fleetguard filters Theyre a really good filter Nice video Love the old school paint job
Hey Mike! Have you got ALL of your new toys home! You found several toys in the area of your "new" truck. Will you be getting all of them? Good "stuff" Peter Michael
one thing that's good to do is pour in some hot shot (or other brand) fuel additive to the filter when starting, most people don't keep in mind that the old diesels are not meant to run ultra low sulfur diesel, but is fuel different in Canada?
What else would you like to know... that is a primer pump and we sprayed starting fluid in the intake as well as the air intake for the compressor which goes right I to the intake manifold .
Hey Mike i like your videos after watching Matt from diesel creek if there is no smoke coming out of the stack that would suggest there is no fuel coming into the motor. I recommend looking at the diesel pump and cracking the injectors to see if they are receiving fuel firstly as you turn the motor over. secondly set up another fuel tank container into the fuel pump / motor seeing if this will work. I think the motor is not getting any fuel because as you turn the motor you should have smoke coming out of the stack which is not happening. A recommendation to help you would maybe to watch some of videos from either Matt from diesel creek or C&C equipment they are are all over old diesel motors and how to and eliminate any issues on how to get old diesel motors started . I enjoy your wit humor and your projects you are very interesting keep you videos coming well done Gino form Adelaide Australia.
Disconnect the fuel suction and return lines put them both into a 5 gallon fuel can with fresh diesel fuel change the fuel filter and the hook up a starter jump pack to the batteries hit it with starting fluid and give her a bump.
Wow y’all need to get prepared. You need to get the fuel primed because the fuel gives lubricant to the cylinders which intern helps it to crank easier and faster. Plus the batteries are dead and the cables need to be cleaned or replaced the starter is probably gummed up some too. And also when you’re cranking it your dad needs to spray starter fluid in the intake so it sucks it in Idk if you read these comments I really hope you do tho cause I’m really trying to help you out cause it really doesn’t seem like yall know what’s going on. Good luck man 👍🏻👍🏻
You could have connected your jumpers directly to the starter, and to a good earthto get more ripm’s and your batteries will thank you later. Waiting for the next instalment and some smoke
Hi ya Mike, can't wait to see that truck go again, by the way, check out a channel called only4trucks, he's got a 1966 Pete 351 with a detroit 6-71 on there you might like, and from what he said it might be up for sale next year, but don't quote me on that, anyway thought you might want to check it out. Keep up the great work my friend. 🇬🇧
Hey Mike, it bit ya but just bite it back. You took too many chances thinking cause its a Cat that its going to start easy or some other kind of "Ah heck". Just maybe learn from it as just a day outside with the bride and your dad.... good times even if the truck didn't start.... you had some family time.
Good morning Mike ,wow Andrea is a funny lady she should do commentary more often dry Witt love her ,.Dad's in the thick of it these days not shy of the camera ,maybe get Duke ,beg borrow steal hire a drop deck trailer and take the old Pete home to work on it . Also CHECKOUT Dave's place down under utuber here in Auss you might find his channel interesting ,lots of old Australian and American trucks . Can't wait to see this Pete rescue my first viewing of your channel was Kenny,s rescue one of your best mate Cheers Kym Adelaide
Are you sure its not 24 volt sure sounds like it. The shitty part with it not having any driveline you could have charge the air system. Then drag the truck in gear to get the engine rolling over. The Cosby sauce you had doesn't start nothing. The Kleenflo is the only stuff you buy. I've never heard of that brand of tire you got for Duke I bet you had fun mounting them 😂 The beads on the Chinese tires are known for being stiff.
That took forever for you to concede what was immediately evident. More battery power required. You could have saved us from an extra 3/4 hour of tedium. On a positive note, you and Andrea are looking slimmer (from certain angles) than you have for some time.
Thank you Mike for the content I love all semi trucks
Yep, I said it with the short posted, he bought it. Well, Peterbilt sure isn't making any more 359's, so it's a classic and deserves to be saved.
Super glad to hear that you are saving it!
its 1am here and I was going to go 2 bed.....but must watch this instead....lol
We need more power! If you don’t try you can’t fail! Hope she turns over faster with more juice.
OK Mike, like I said, We know you can do it! Get it while you can and do it when you're ready!! It will be great!!!!
Only Mike would do a will it start and it doesn't, honesty to the max. 😂
Way to go Mike I love your 359. It’s a nice Peterbilt.❤😂
Great did it start. Too many start so good to see the reality of it not starting. Drag it home and let Dad get to work on it. THIS time, strip in to the frame and restore it fully. Great to see a 359 day cab get saved. Now this has to be a show truck.
Hoooorrraaaayyy!! I love this truck! What's wrong with another Peterbilt project? You work for Peterbilt! Can't wait to hear her roar! 🤞
Cool that Andrea is on board for another project rig...
She's awesome 👌
I like those 359's. It'll be cool to see it go.
Hi Mike. Great effort. Please don't let it get you down. The truck has been sitting for years. You and your dad are a good team not forgetting Andrea. When you get her out of the weeds and back to your shop and get her driving like it should be. 😊

1/2 finished projects are better than no projects. Keep up the good!!
glad to see you saving these trucks. wish you would put more videos up.
Great video Mike. As others have said, it didn't seem to be spinning over fast enough. As it can't be driven it would need recovering anyway and it'll be nearer to your toolbox. Good to see Andrea helping out too. Mike from Lancashire 🇬🇧

Ol' Dad Gettin' After It !!!!! Yessir 💥💥💥💥💥
hey it might not start today and the cab might be bad but you got a good engine
Hey Mike, love your videos. Get it home and keep trying! A lot of tubers who do this in the field use heavy duty jumper boxes (I hope a sponsor reaches out) 😁
me too...
Nothing wrong with having a few projects on the go you got do what keeps you happy
Mike, we need a follow up with better batteries or one of those goodall jump boxes- needs more juice! We all want to see it start! Also, it’s always nice to see part of Prince George in the videos! Keep it up
one can never have too many protects it keeps us sane
Good video Mike, i reckon that truck will start with fresh batteries and some fettling. It will make a good addition to your fleet/collection. Maybe spray its chassis blue like Duke.
Andrea's comments were entertaining and its always good to see your knowledgeable dad.
Mike take it home were you have all you need to work on it to get it going
If I had the money I would buy every 359 I could find. I hope it works out for you
More projects is nice to have
looking forward to the next installment!! Winter is coming!! Don't forget 2 cover K2!!!
ok it is not stuck, alot of things happens in 20 years. Andrea is there freesing with you guys she must have a golden heart.😊
Great video Mike it was a valiant effort to try to start it. Thanks for sharing stay safe Mike, Dad and Andrea.
It is amazing after all that time it held air! I did not hear a low air buzzer when you got the power to it. LOL!
It has a wig wag instead of a buzzer.
Hi Mike
Get the 359 truck out of the bogg, put on the back of low and slow, get it back to the shop were you have the tools to get it started and make it a great truck again.....

New Batteries needed with solid connections 👍🏻🙂
Nice save with the drain plug
Very interesting episode, all the best Mike.
Your dad, is so cool he's got y,ou buying that truck

Oil cooler hanging on the side is worth more than the whole truck lolol
You guys are a trip 👍
Mike your already talking like you own it!
Hey Mike! Have you got ALL of your new toys home! You found several toys in the area of your "new" truck. Will you be getting all of them? Good "stuff"
Peter Michael
It's odd that in Maple leaf Canada 🇨🇦 you can't find a red truck to buy. Looks like you are going to have blue as your new favorite color
one thing that's good to do is pour in some hot shot (or other brand) fuel additive to the filter when starting, most people don't keep in mind that the old diesels are not meant to run ultra low sulfur diesel, but is fuel different in Canada?
ive seen some use a bit of ATF in there as well. ill have to do that.
That’s a prime pump! That’s all that is! Wow
What else would you like to know... that is a primer pump and we sprayed starting fluid in the intake as well as the air intake for the compressor which goes right I to the intake manifold .

you will get it
Half finished projects are called content! Sometimes you need a break from a project. I'm the same way Mike
Disconnect the fuel suction and return lines put them both into a 5 gallon fuel can with fresh diesel fuel change the fuel filter and the hook up a starter jump pack to the batteries hit it with starting fluid and give her a bump.
Best line in th video? "the crappy thing is the whole truck"
LOL
Take this beast home and bring her back to life. Would love to hear it spinning over at the correct speed and listening until it roars to life.
I liked Andreas' commenty .
A wire brush or some jumper wires that were new is usually what people bring when doing this stuff
COULD TRY PULL STARTING IT MIKE
love your videio mike can not wait to see smokey on the road come on get er done son
Love your channel Miike
Mike, save that old Ford in the back!! That is a very good truck to save and possibly flip for really good money.
Andrea actually liked that one too. But she wants to plant flowers in the box and use for yard art.
@@mikethetrucknut No way! If its 4x4 its even worth a heck of a lot more. At least in the states, the old Fords like that go for really good money.

Don't listen to them. DO IT.😂😂
Well it turns over that’s good
359 COOL!!COOL
Yes yes yes cool 😎 im so happy 😊. Its history man coooooool
"the crapy thing is the whole truck" shes got your number 😅😋
Good video and thanks for sharing. Only question is why did you bring batteries that wasn’t fully charged. Just asking
I thought they were, but I'm hoping they weren't. Pulled them from another truck.
@@mikethetrucknut I do that a lot my self. Thinking they was good when I put them up. To find out OOPS NOT TODAY. Waisted trip. Lo
Hi mate connect the batteries in 24 volt sequence, wind the engine in short bursts.
Find the fuel shutoff, be it manual or electronic, make sure it is turning on the fuel! No smoke, no fuel! Start there!
Great one. Good batts, water and fuel. Then she will gooooooo.
I could tell the second you tried to crank it your batteries weren't hot enough/didn't have enough juice
Mike, you should do a collaborative with Mark at Twin Sticks
Hi yall from west Alabama USA
You could have connected your jumpers directly to the starter, and to a good earthto get more ripm’s and your batteries will thank you later. Waiting for the next instalment and some smoke
All good Mike, better batteries, bleed the the fuel boom shacka laka. Hopefully.
She turns over. . That's a start...
You can have 12 volts but if you don't have the amperage it will not turn over fast enough to start.
cool....nice mate!!! EDIT and if you don't get it now someone else might come along and snap it up
Is that a 24 volt system? Or a 12 volt usually look at the battery gauge if it’s over 12 then it’s a 24 volt
Almost got it to kick off, maybe stronger batteries on the next trip, your Dad I really get a kick out of he,s a truck guy who,s old school.
You might as well call a wrecker your going to buy it
yeah
@@mikethetrucknut It''ll go on the back of Low and Slow
Hey Mike, it bit ya but just bite it back. You took too many chances thinking cause its a Cat that its going to start easy or some other kind of "Ah heck". Nice old Pete You need better batteries and a Jump pack.
Temporary fuel supply, and pretty sure that's a pre cup engine and has
Glow Plugs.
TGP
Get yourself a jump box 12 to 24 it works better thank battery around
Did they update the interior on this one? thought that design came in around 78 with the corvette dash
i dont think so but i really dont know.
Any 359 is worth saving no matter what condition it’s in. Every year you’ll see less and less of them. I say revive that old girl.
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Good morning Mike ,wow Andrea is a funny lady she should do commentary more often dry Witt love her ,.Dad's in the thick of it these days not shy of the camera ,maybe get Duke ,beg borrow steal hire a drop deck trailer and take the old Pete home to work on it .

Adelaide
Starting fluid and glow plugs don’t mix it’ll make it lock up
How many purses did she get to go along with another project 😂
Bad ground man
just go and replace the roof cap ac units gone and i think would be a lot easyer then patching
Are you sure its not 24 volt sure sounds like it. The shitty part with it not having any driveline you could have charge the air system. Then drag the truck in gear to get the engine rolling over. Lol yeah they were a bit of a challenge
@mikethetrucknut Did a set of 425 steer tires son of a bitch I was struggling. Spooned a lot of tires I drove bin trucks tires took a shit kicking.
Well I had lying with the 1693 and about that year it was a 24-volt system
Time of death 1230 lol
That took forever for you to concede what was immediately evident. More battery power required. You could have saved us from an extra 3/4 hour of tedium. On a positive note, you and Andrea are looking slimmer (from certain angles) than you have for some time.

Not turning over fast enough mike
It really is a shame that there isn't a means to pre-oil a diesel that has been sitting with dry bearings before spinning it over and trashing them !
