    I had to read all the posts to see if anyone else was cringing at the driveline carnage going on. It never occurred to me that just as you don’t
    “ let’s see if it starts “ a steam locomotive for instance, it’s come down to that with truck we drove most of our working lives. That starter paid the
    price for not priming the fuel pump. I drove my VIT all over NA for 26 years. Put a little bit of air in the seat, and move forward a bit so you can control it. Standard steering requires physical effort. Thanks for posting the video.

    I drove a 77, K100 in 1980. A pretty good truck, 290 Cummings 10 speed. Top speed was 72 MPH @ 2100 RPM. it had the regular size bunk. The manual steering wasn't bad if you kept the steer axle well greased. I drove a lot of older trucks, but the new trucks are more comfortable, from ride to heat/air conditioning.

    No power steering? That and front brakes were options back then. I'm looking at a trade deal on a 76 K100. Also back then the plastic that makes up the airlines wasn't that good so this truck would need an entire replumb. Manual steering, front brakes, no Jakes, manual passenger window, spring ride, BCIII 350, 13 spd, air slide with power divider rolling on 10 buds.
    I'm about finished restoring a 1982 9670, it's been a year long event but I've also ran the truck the entire time too.
    You have a good truck to start from, that's the hardest part, that and finding 15x4 inch front brake pads

    • @cfnevada
      @cfnevada  2 года назад

      Yep that no power steering will make you strong 💪😎 we were looking at all the hoses and lines and will probably end up replacing everything. Anything plastic or rubber after sitting out on that farm for so long is pretty shot. Thanks for watching! And hope you get that k100.
